  • I remember watching this scene when I was just a child, very very young and I said to myself "this movie's silly. That's stupid. You can't lasso the moon! That's impossible!" :')

  • i want the moon:)

  • Great Xmas film...

  • Wow so romantic nmy bf did this for me he acted the whole thng out I miss u baby rip john

  • i wonder if George knows the consequences of bringing the moon down!!

  • The "It's a Wonderful Life" App for iPhone, iPod, and iPad: Plays sounds from the movie. Search for "Wonderful Life" on the App Store.

  • I gotta try these lines sometime. George Bailey you're a match for Romeo himself!

check out my song 2010 lasso the moon

the best song for the lady check it out DOE BOY

  • Best romantic speech to a girl I've ever heard.

  • Mom and I love this movie. No man is a failure who has friends.

  • Donna Reed is absolutely beautiful...she also generated an inner beauty onscreen that you cant teach in an acting class. Just like James Stewart I think it was just who she was as a person that carried over into the role....I believe James Stewart is qouted as saying that Its a Wonderful Life is his favorite film of all the films he has made

  • @4theforce

One of greatest movies ever...this is TRUE love, not sex like today's movies. Also respect for "The notebook".

  • You are correct -- Jimmy Stewart says its his favorite mvoie that he worked on. Sadly America has drastically changed n regard to promoting this

  • They will never be able to recreate the magic of this film ...Remaking would only be for the greed of commercial success. This film was all heart and soul, teaching what true values are . Its timeless becuase the values and sentiments it teaches are timeless. Too bad we've gone in the opposite direction in this country. There are too many Mr. Potters and not enough George Bailey(s) in the US

  • BEST PART

  • This is a really cute scene. I only know it in German because I'm German, and I think we says something completely different in the original version...XD

  • No one could play George Bailey like Jimmy Stewart. He is absolutely amazing in this film.

One of the greatest classic films ever!!

  • YOU WANT THE MOON???

    great movie!

  • One of the cutest movie quotes ever!

  • this is my favourite film of all time :)

  • if they ever remake this movie the ONLY person who could play this part is....drum roll...who else but...Nicholas Cage

  • Are you joking?!?! Well if we're throwing ideas out there, how about Kyle Chandler? He was the lead role on Early Edition, and he's the lead on Friday Night Lights. And there's something about his voice that has always reminded me of Jimmy Stewart. I'd love to see Kyle Chandler. But there's no need to remake this movie. That would be like taking a dump on a priceless piece of art.

  • maybe when he was younger.. i'd like to see Lee Pace. But if they remade it, i would be HORRIFIED.. there are some movies that should NEVER be remade and this is one of them.

  • best movie ever made. truly beautiful

  • i love luke

    but don't tell anyone

    it's a secret...

  • I loved the movie!

  • Yessss!

  • One of the greatest movie lines of all time hands down!!!!

  • Stewart mentioned in great new bio (Charlton Heston:An Incredible Life). Bio is by Michelle Bernier! Its for sale at amazon!

  • thats soo sweet

  • I don't think people talk like that back in the 40's.

  • it wasn't the 40s... it takes place in the 20s

  • i believe the movie goes through the 20s into the late 40's(world war 2)

  • My favorite Christmas movie of all time and this is one of my favorite parts. Thanks for posting! I'd recommend you all watch this sometime around Christmas, it's a great family film.

  • It doesn't matter if he was or wasn't. It didn't affect his acting style. He was a great actor no matter what.

  • im watching it right now. very nice christmas movie.

  • Jim Carrey did something like this in his movie, Bruce Almighty. That was sexy, that conversation they had for those days...Very Romantic...

  • yeah!

  • I love this movie!!

  • I completly agree with you, and for those who hasn't seen this great movie, here is a link to watch it online:

    blogger-films.blogspot.*com/2008/10/its-wonderful-life.html

  • IT'S A WONDERFUL MOVIE!

  • jimmy stewart great actor

  • What happend to America? It WAS Great!

  • Mr. Potter took over and instituted laws like EMINANT DOMAIN

  • I dont think love exists in America anymore, its implants and high rollings nowadays

  • You are correct, especially in New York...what we have now is porno-relationships and not romantic heartfelt love you see portrayed in this film. But in the film their love was with purpose, she loved George Bailey's qaulities as a man of intergrity. Now those qualities are mocked and ppl with those qualities are called socialists/communist. Today They probably would call Jesus a Communist for feeding the masses and healing ppl without charging a fee

  • Best movie ever made; Stewart: best actor there will ever be

  • In one scene, the story called for him to spot a potentially fatal error made by a drunken druggist, played by H.B. Warner.

Warner took the role seriously and on day of shooting had been drinking and was "pretty ripe," Victoria Anderson said. The scene called for Warner's character to slap the boy.

Anderson told the LA Times that the scene and rehearsals were painful

  • TO ALL: LOS ANGELES (AP) - Bob Anderson, who played the young George Bailey in the Christmas classic "It's a Wonderful Life," has died.He was 75.Anderson died Friday of cancer at his home in Palm Springs, his wife, Victoria, said Saturday.the same character portrayed in adulthood by James Stewart.

  • What she SHOULD'VE said instead of "I'll take it" is "Oh, George, let's not ask for the moon--we have the stars."

  • I wont the moon... give me the moon Mr Baley... che spettacolo!

  • the best romantic movie of all time

  • Moon beams lol.

  • hahahahahah

  • This scene is meant to be cute! Its nice to hear a guy say something romantic every once in a while! And humans are very selfish beings by nature: we all want lots of things. You can't say girls are the only ones who want things. Relationships should be about what you BOTH want.

  • Perhaps you'd be interested in joining the Official Three Stooges Woman Haters' Club. Dues are only $79. dollars a year (plus tax).

  • well we f-ing LOVE you too you stereotyping ass. ;-)

  • :) I'm so in love with this.

  • cosa vuoi mary la luna???

  • i'd die to hear a guy tell me a line like this.. best romantic scene ever hands down

  • what is it you want zebra0scarf? what'dya want? y..you want the moon? just say the word and ill throw a lasso around it and pull it down. hey thats a pretty good idea. ill give you the moon zebra0scarf. (lol there dream come true..xD)

  • that was a very sweet thing to do...I wish a guy would say that to me for real

  • ya i know what'cha mean XP lol

  • the best romance scene ever. ; ) =k8t

  • And the best Christmas movie. xD This is my favourite movie.

  • I wrote a card for a girl one time and on the back of it i drew the moon with a rope around it and then had it tied to the ground with a sign saying "for *name* i give you the moon". It did not win her love....

  • I said that after i was caught cheating.

    It didn't work.

  • I can imagine

  • Buffalo girl wont you come out tonight wont you come out tonight wont you come out tonight I love that scene

  • I love when the man on the porch behind them yells for George to kiss her. I felt the same way!

  • I love that part...I put that into my famous quote book

  • same here

  • I love this movie.

And this scene is my favorite.

    It's simply beautiful.

    Those were the good days.

I'm jealous I wasn't alive to witness them.

  • O! o gosh, i've been waiting for someone to post this..i love it so :)

  • That was the sexiest, most wonderful man ever. James Stewart!!!

  • I love this movie!!! and this scene!!!

  • When inspiration appears, eternity gets something real. That was Hollywood those days...Magic in pure condition. Thanks to Frank, Jimmy and the most beautiful woman I've ever dimensioned, Donna Reed.

  • well put

  • favourite ever scene

  • God... i just love this part of this movie.
