Freeman's assertion that Barack's election has worsened racism by inciting racists to intensified aggression is ridiculous. They are absolutists in any circumstance. It WAS naive of him to begin his term with attempts of negotiation with a party that never does. He has also badly underestimated the illiteracy and fear of a mass electorate that turned against him in the space of 18 months. Why do people forget the reason the United States exists is because "Religious freedom" was not available in England. Now, some Christians think because we make up the majority of the population, everyone else must kowtow to our beliefs, That is exactly counter to what the country was founded on. Every time I explain this, people overlook or ignore it. There is a difference between opposing the President on an ideological basis. That is normal and expected. But when a senior Senator speaks on behalf an influential segment of Congress and states their "#1Priority" is to ensure the failure of the sitting President, that is putting party agenda ahead of the country. Their "#1 Priority" should be to advance their home constituency and their COUNTRY. Not their party.

Why do people forget the reason the United States exists is because "Religious freedom" was not available in England. Now, some Christians think because we make up the majority of the population, everyone else must kowtow to our beliefs, That is exactly counter to what the country was founded on. The Constitution itself mandates the separation of Church and State. There is no "Official Religion of the United States", nor should there be.

That was a phrase Thomas Jefferson used in a few letters of correspondence to several Baptist ministers, explaining to them that though Christianity is the cornerstone of the United States, all other beliefs were tolerated as long as the peace of society was not breached and that a "federal" level of religion would not be established. So if an event like 9/11 happens, Islam is no longer accepted, for example.

Every time I explain this, people overlook or ignore it. There is a difference between opposing the President on an ideological basis. That is normal and expected. But when a senior Senator speaks on behalf an influential segment of Congress and states their "#1Priority" is to ensure the failure of the sitting President, that is putting party agenda ahead of the country. Their "#1 Priority" should be to advance their home constituency and their COUNTRY. Not their party.

You would think killing Bin Laden would calm these Tea Party types but they are still as scared as ever of the "AVOWED MUSLIM" (as Santorum calls him i guess) who wants to impose a Nazi communist state that follows strict sharia law over. as a loyal Liberal Democrat i am Pro Islam and i love all Muslims, Santorum is anti Islam bigot and he hates all Muslims.
i believe our Nation was founded upon ISLAMIC Law and our country was built on the backs of Muslims, we are an Islamic Nation and we need to return to our Muslim heritage. anyone who disagrees is Obviously a bigot.
