  • This is the best modern adaptation of Shakespeare I've ever seen. I haven't seen them all, obviously, but right now this is my new sweetheart. Every detail is in place, the actors are great, the visuals are awesome - I cannot belive it was shot in only 25 days...

  • sik! i love watch this trailer. recently im stuying macbeth @ english. well, lovely trailer

  • '' boobs :O '' , '' I"M COMING THERE ARE REAL BOOBS ON YOUTUBE'' , you fuckin wankers.

  • My mom happened to have bohemian rhapsody on when I pulled this up and it was about half way though and the timing was perfect to the point where I ended up muting this and watching how it matched up. Literally perfect

  • Oooooh!! :O this is way different that i imagined when i was reading the book

  • WHY THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT CALLED MACBETH???!!

  • @Mentulasso Because it is Macbeth. Shakepeare didnt write plays to be famous or artsy he did it to make money little did he know that his work would become the standards for plays, shows, and movies.

  • i like him better in blue

  • WTF

  • This woman cannot be lady Macbeth ! anyway I have to watch it and figure out if she did lady Macbeth in Shakespearian way modernized !

  • anyone know where i can download this? im so eager to see if its good or not, probably is because sams in it =)

  • woa! real boobs on youtube!? this is amazing!

  • just think every time someone said mcbeth they all had to run out of the room and spin 3 times and spit and say the worst profanity that comes to mind

  • @geasslver thats only in a theater and you say it out of character. And you have to be let back in. You cant just walk back in. I was in MacB

  • nice movie

  • So.... wtf is this movie about?

  • i enjoyed the vampires :D

  • Not a good trailer.

  • This kinda ruins the whole concept of the old Macbeth :/

  • I didn't know they were allowed to show naked people on youtube? :O

  • Is this real? When did this come out? Was there an original?

  • lmao i imagine macbeth uses the lasersighted gun to assinate Duncan lol

  • The trailer totally doesn't do the movie justice. It's actually really good.

  • have there ever been any shakespeare adaptation in a post- apocalyptic setting? that could be kind of cool.

  • This was actually the first Sam Worthington movie I saw him in, I never knew that he'd go on to be a Terminator and a Marine in an alien body. Good work Worthington, you got a great success story.

Interesting trivia, both Christian Bale and Sam Worthington stared in Terminator Salvation and they both played in modern Shakespearean movies, Bale in Midsummer Night's Dream and Worthington in this.

BTW, I enjoyed this, a little intense but very well done.

  • LOL, I saw Worthington in the underrated Horror film Rogue before he was in Terminator 4 & AVATAR.

I also saw Hart's War & Great Raid but had no idea he was in those since he was a background character in those two war films.

He is a good actor though

  • It Doesn't Ruin Shakespeare...Remember Westside Story? This Takes Shakespeare, Applies It To A Wider Audience, Embelishes Details... All Together Awesome, There's No Way to Ruin The Book.

  • OMG o_o is Kate Bell in 00:56 ??

  • @EmoStellanera Yes it is. Yes it is.

  • were can i find this

  • THIS IS EXACTLY NOT WHAT I IMAGINED FROM READING MACBETH!! TOTALLY NOT!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck I need to see this..i perform macbeth tommorrow night- yours truly as macbeth FTW!

  • what kind of shirt would u call the one Macbeth is wearing when he is touching the candle flames with Lady Maceth behind him???

  • whats the song?

  • oh yeah sam with his shirt off

  • y must they ruin shakespears work?!!

  • there not ruining it...there making it badass

  • JAKESULLY.

    I SEE YOU.

  • well this movie has to be amazing of Sam's in it lol xD hes a great actor!

  • So, Sam plays Macbeth?

  • i love sam and victoria...especially sam :)

  • does anyone know of a really good film version of macbeth? the 1971 one is supposed to be good but does anyone know of a more recent one thats quite true to the actual play? :) x

  • i thought it was a really interesting and original interpretation, acted and directed very well indeed.

  • dose any 1 no where i can find ths

  • It honestly wasn't that bad of a movie

  • LOL modernised macbeth looks a bit cheesy.. Macbeth is best play out from the other plays written by shakespeare..

  • i remember renting this movie with my friend, of course i had forgotten about Macbeth, when we started watching the movie we were like wtf are they saying literally then i started to remember of macbeth xD

  • looks interesting, but.....too much nakedness

  • terrible...

  • I think you either hate ir or love it. I saw it just recently and it was a great movie. Ummm, I have also read the original MacBeth and liked it, just btw... Sure this movie was... different but very very cool. :-)

  • think this looks quite cheap. setting shakespeare in modern times is not an offense for me, since shakespeare set his plays on HIS time (which for him it was the modern times). It worked with romeo + juliet, which I think they were trying to do here. unfortunately, it looks like it doesnt work AT ALL!

  • Eeesh! Why is everyone a 20-something model? Even the witches are young and pretty. How pathetic that they think Macbeth is about eye candy.

And how can anyone think that setting Shakespeare in modern times is still original or daring?

  • this movie is really graphic

they choke this lady with a wire

    NOT PRETTY

  • disaster...this cheap bullshit, ooo I can't even imagine that someone finds this movie interesting...it's a real offense to shakespeare

  • I saw this.

    Interesting.

Everyone is a drug dealer and it has the EXACT same dialogue as the play.

  • LMAOO WTF!

  • This looks absolutely dreadful.

This is an insult to Shakespeare.

  • I read the play and this looks very, very INTERESTING! 5 stars for sure!

  • i never knew shakespeare used guns in his plays

  • queer

  • oi whos this staring??

  • This doesn't look too bad, I mean, Wright has certainly hammered home the vengeance/blood/murder/guts/human nature side of things really well, from the trailer it seems this way. Lady MacBeth also looks good. But there's a lot of guns, too much guns & blowing things up. Sam Worthington doesn't do a bad job, from watching this. Probably 1 of the betetr adaptations.

  • The witches kind of bother me... it seems that their scene was turned from horror based to porn based.

  • Why can't it be both?

  • ...BEWBS... =]

  • I dont think it looks that bad it would be interesting to watch IMP

  • didnt this movie get gret reviews?

  • wow good idea to make modernised Macbeth , bad idea to make it look like this./....

  • where can i watch this movie?

    online?

    any help?

  • if shakespeare were alive, he would kill himself after watching this lame movie...

    poor shakespeare

  • i disagree...i think if that homo shakespear was alive today..and made macbeth it would look alot like this.

  • wow, way to turn shakespeare's work into a hispter's paradise.

    this movie sucks

  • have you seen it?

  • the original macbeth

  • wow

this really portrays the picture i got in my mind from reading macbeth

the hot witches, the guns, the sex

    yea totally

    not

  • ahaha, exactly how i felt.

    wtf is this?

  • lmao

i didnt know asian people were in macbeth...hmm...

  • well...it's a MODERN interpretation....

these days, would guys be sword fighting and having feasts in castles? not really...

  • no i get that its a modern interpretation but it just seems a bit cheesy to me

i guess i just dont picture a modern interpretation of macbeth would be portrayed like this

i imagined something a bit more civilized than some white guy having sex with a bunch of chicks and then shooting a shit load of asian guys XD

  • Hhahahaha i totally agree with you.

this looks like the trashiest interpretation. it's all like "calling all hipsters, shakespeare is COOOOOL! this movie is down with the stuff teens like!"

and i'm just like "shut the fuck up, this is shit."

  • @matabond3 you're reading it wrong then.

  • @slipknothim13 How many pages of comments did you go through to find this three year old comment?

And do you feel accomplished now that you've responded to it?

  • @matabond3 0 pages, its the first comment when you scroll down. and yeah, kind of.

  • @slipknothim13 That's nice, well I was 14 when I posted that so don't think too highly of yourself.

  • @matabond3 so the significance of that is...?

  • @slipknothim13 Lol nevermind Slipknot, whatever makes you happy

  • what i find interesting about shakespear's plays, if you were to take them from what they are, they are exactly this, about gangs, and all that, its pretty cool when you think about it

  • they speak in old english

its good dont worry its just porn in one part like 5or 10 minutes

  • do they speak in old english like in the play or is it modernized?

  • old english

  • Shakespeare wrote in in Modern English. We're still speaking Modern, though as you can tell its way different.

  • Common misconception. Shakespeare wrote in pantameter, also. Every line in his plays is ACTUAL poetry. No one back in the 1590's actually spoke that way. Shakespeare contrived a new speech pattern, and because of this, he also invented hundreds of new words (such as "can't" and "don't").

  • ...they never had sex in the play wtf! what is with the media nowadays portraying anything sexual?

  • i personally though that was such a good interpreataion of Macbeth and the way different directors have protrayed the play

  • This is fricken sweet.

  • I heard good things about this, which got me interested......and this trailer totally killed it.

+I find it funny how they said the wicthes were changed, but the witches in this version are still ugly.

  • to be honest with u all, I don't like the trailer and I don't i think I'll be watching film.

All it has is sex and guns, it so stupid.

  • I cannot wait to see this! It looks so cool! =)

  • macbeththefeaturefilm.

    com.

    au/main.htm

The music page has the one in this trailer, the beginning slow trance mix, as well as the "Take You Home" - guitar shredding song.

This movie is very cool. If you liked Romeo+Juilet its the parody in Macbeth.

  • already seen it, they talk in shakespear.

  • whn is this due out?

  • anyone know the name of the song in the background ?

  • For the ending they should have him go out like Tony Montana in Scarface. Still the character names won't go very well with the modern day setting.

  • i like the music in the background lol

  • looks great, is he the bloke in dirty dees (another great movie)

  • dude when did this come out? I want to rent that!

  • Appropriately wicked!

  • it was triggered by melbourne's underwarld slayings,

any one know the actors who played the witches?

  • the witches are: Chloe Armstrong, Kate Bell and Miranda Naiton :)

  • This movie is gonna be fucking awesome
