The biggest threat to our welfare in the US is government overreach. Hey, Obama, leave those rigs alone! Get the government off of our backs and let the engine of capitalism run. Soon the economy will be back in the black and middle class Americans will be able to provide for their families again. Then we can all get back to worrying about imaginary demons like global warming and evil rich people. Funny how all that bullcrap fades when you can't put food on the table...
When Toyota had their problems with sticking accelerators and faulty software, I didn't see Obama shut down the entire automotive industry in the United States while they investigated. We have been drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico for over 60+ YEARS, I repeat 60+ YEARS, and this is the ONLY oil spill incident in over 60 YEARS. U.S. Gov't, do your jobs, inspect all the offshore oil wells, shut down only the ones with major violations, allow oil wells in compliance to continue their work!!!
Hah, hah, hah, hah, hah, the Federal Judge in the Appeals Court told the Obama administration to take their drilling moratorium and stick it up their ass. Basically he told Obama to get his fucking fingers out of the economy, to take his socialist agenda, put it where the sun doesn't shine, and quit blowing smoke up the American People's collective ass.

.America doesn't need a drilling moratorium. We need an immigration moratorium!
The USA grew uneccessarily by 100 million in last 40 years nearly all via immigration & thanks to unending unlimited immigration we are on track to reach a half a billion in a few decades. With a Moratorium on immigration in place we would level off around 330 million.
Who cares if we stop drilling, & inflate our tires, if we keep flooding the country with milliions of immigrants.

@BlameRepublicans Obama has an oil spill in the Gulf that he cannot get fixed. Can’t figure out who’s in charge of cleaning up the Gulf. Can’t get the economy turned around. The Republicans want my personal freedom, The democrats want my money. You have both violated the constitution more times than a 3 dollar hooker.
You still have yet to answer the question. What has the Right Wing Government done to mitigate the damage in the gulf, other than fight with Obama? Anyone?
I said "My question was respectable & fair." Not my comment.
I know, this is hard for you, but try. What has the GOP done?
@CPOSharkey01 Nice try, but you're still avoiding the question. You said "Republicans would have fixed the oil already" I asked "What have republicans done to mitigate the damage in the gulf" The question is Fair and respectful, my whole comment may not have been.
It's also common for Reps to label someone as a dem when they disagree. Nice try, but you're all idiots. Dems want my money and Reps want my personal freedom.
I'm fiscally conservative & socially liberal, much like Ron.
@everythingeco I gave you my answer but you didn't like it. The only republicans in any position to take action are State officials and Bobby Jendal is doing the best he can when he is not being blocked by the Army Corps or the Coast Guard or for that matter the EPA.
If any federally elected Republicans did anything other than bitch the left would claim it was a coupe.
That's the best answer I've and as I said its not my job to satisfy you and I'm comfortable with my answer.
@CPOSharkey01 That's the first semi-answer you have given. However, you can sum it up; Nothing. The Right wing gvmt has done nothing. But you want to say it's all Obamas fault. Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.
Don't claim the Reps would have done everything when to date they have done nothing. There is no excuse for it, simply put.
I won't reply to you anymore, you can't handle a debate with an informed individual. You're also a little Bi Polar. Good Day Friend

@everythingeco I find it fascinating that you claim we have a "right wing government." The democrats have control of the house and the senate, and the majority of the associate justices of the supreme court have liberal leanings. Obama is a democrat, and his administration pushes a largely liberal agenda. The republicans are in no position to do anything, so it is rather hilarious that you claim that they should be the ones to act.
@madehero2007 1, read the convo before you jump in. 2 Never said the Rs should do anything, let alone be the first. 3 My orig post was a response to "Rs would have fixed this already" I asked "What have Rs done to mitigate the damage so far" I got NO answer until the last post, then yours. So FINALLY the answer is in fact "Nothing" - because Obama won't let us" Do I have that right?
Don't be condescending when replying without relevant knowledge of the context in which the discussion rests.
@everythingeco I don't care about the entire conversation. I was posting a reply to one comment of yours, not the entire conversation that you carried out. You mentioned that there was no excuse for the republicans' inaction, which suggests that you believe that some response or action should be done. The rest of my comment was focused on your claim of a republican government. Condescension is relative. I saw your previous comments, and knew what was in this comment.
@madehero2007 There's no excuse for anyone inaction! Particularly near half of our government! I pay taxes, I sure you do as well. We don't pay them to sit on their thumbs bitching in times of national crisis, we pay them to fix problems.
I'm not a fan of the Dems or republicans, but at least the dems are doing something. Didn't take O a freggin week to get there.
So yes, I am greatly disappointed with the inaction of out paid & elected officials. That's not wrong!
@everythingeco I agree that you are free to have any given opinion that you wish. However, I am also free to present my views. Obama has had nothing but inaction. In fact, he has actually gone out of his way to prevent clean-up attempts. Within the first days, he kept BP from following MMS and OSHA protocol, which issues a controlled burn of the leaking oil. The government is not their to fix all of our problems, and in situations like this, it would be better if they just got out of the way.
@CPOSharkey01 Nothing can be accomplished by following the federal government, which is why the republicans within the gulf states have begun to ignore the federal government. Whether it be the use of barges to block oil from reaching portions of the coast, or lifting the ban on drilling, the republicans are doing what they can to fix the mess while the democrats do what they can to use this disaster to enforce their liberal agenda down the throats of the public.
@madehero2007 I'm sure there are both Democrat and Republican voters in the gulf doing what they have to do. Do you have any proof that there is any sort of organized republican effort in the gulf? So far all I see is Barton worrying about his paycheck and a Judge who thinks US will fall if we go 6 months without a new rig. I've seen no organized effort, nor have I seen the efforts Obama is blocking. Do you have any documentation or links? I'm interested.
@everythingeco I was not referring to voters. I was referring to elected officials. Most of the citizens residing along the gulf are probably doing all that they can to help, and I know that political ideals do not limit that. Bobby Jindal ignored the federal government and ordered the use of barges to block the oil, which was broadcast on multiple stations. Martin Feldman aslo overturned Obama's six-month moratorium on deep-water drilling, which was also broadcast on multiple media outlets.
@madehero2007 Jundal Using barges, against orders? I'll look into it. Thank you for a real answer. Feldman however is an idoit! Allowing more new rigs to be set up with a catastrophe at hand is hardly an effort to mitigate damage being done by the current rig. I group him with Barton, who is a flaming idiot! I'm not interested in hearing the opinion from anyone who makes that much $ from oil.
My first post was "What are the Rs doing?" still sort of struggling with it.
@everythingeco The ruling was not about "mitigating damages." It was about the prevention of further job loss and economic damage to the surrounding area. A six-month moratorium on drilling will result in the loss of those oil wells, which will result in thousands of lost jobs. I could careless where Feldman gets his money. Obama gets money from oil as well. In fact, he invested even more money in deep-water drilling, but it was a Brazilian company and not a US company.
@madehero2007 You didn't read the PM. You keep comparing to Obama as if I think he is on top of everything. Republicans and Dems are idiots alike, and not much different from each other once they're off the campaign trail and in Washington.
And I do care where they get their money from, particularly when it's such a huge amount as with Bartons case. It effects decision making.
Lastly, this conversation was about mitigating damage.
Brother, Context is always relevant, you should know this.
@everythingeco I apologize. I received the comment replies before the message. I try to set funding aside and go based on political history. Barton's stance is beneficial to the energy sector and the health-care industry, which is why he has received increasing amounts of funding from both. Businesses often fund politicians that they agree with. That being said, I agree that context is relevant.
Honorable Martin LC Feldman 500 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130-3302 (504) 589-7550
Judge Feldman doesn't care about the Gulf, he would rather find a reason to argue with Obama. Politicians on both sides; Pull your heads out of your asses and do what you're paid to do. FIX THE PROBLEM.
Besides, there's plenty of oil floating in the gulf we're begging someone to collect.
organized religion can be blamed for a nation of "christians" that celebrates greed and the destruction of planet earth and the oceans for an unsutainable and limited energy supply.

Well there you go! Obama lied about the input of 7 oil industry experts and based his moratorium on that lie. Now he's been rebuffed. He thought he could force his cap and trade Crap on the nation by using this disaster! This guy in an incompetent idiot! He's systematically destroying industry so he can put it under government control, just part of his socialist agenda!
@CPOSharkey01 I'm holding your post to the Fire Name this lie Obama made who did he lie to? What is your proof. I want exact quotes and date of the lie. We'll see who's the liar here.
@nandansho Fare enough Obama claimed the 7 industry experts recommended the moratorium and all 7 claim the recommendation was added after their report was issued! In fact all 7 claim that closing producing platforms would be more dangerous in the long run!
@CPOSharkey01 Obama claimed this eh? I said exact quotes did'nt I? Time of day or day and place would be nice too. Watch how easy it is for me to claim a politician said something.....Sarah Palin said that her husband hates eskimos and wants to kill them with poison whale oil. True Story. See pretty easy huh? Yup just like what you're doing.
@nandansho Fare enough Obama claimed the 7 industry experts recommended the moratorium and all 7 claim the recommendation was added after their report was issued! In fact all 7 claim that closing producing platforms would be more dangerous in the long run!
@nandansho to all of us, thats who obauma has lied to us all...everything out of his mouth can be interpreted as a lie...i am not trying to be a troll with causing confrontations, just pointing out the facts...
@nandansho ya sharp you are but we really know whats happening....useless point is useful for those who are prepared...keep behind the curtain of their protection,....dont fend for yourself...let others lead you...right to a camp oven
@wisecracker 2 Non-Sequitur. I will name what you are doing so that you may be cognitive of your actions. One, you're engaged in something called "Special Pleading" and two what I would call Paranoid metaphors" In layman's terms The Chicken little Syndrome. ciao!
Oh great! the well is'nt plugged the Government is stretched to it's limit in cleaning up a FUCKING PRIVATE UK COMPANYS FUCK-UP. And this friggen judge is worried about MONEY??! Joe Barton right here folks. Somebody needs to deliver judge Martin an oil soaked crawdad sandwich with tar Balls and 30 weight filled oysters. The Gulf is DESTROYED gone, done. Oh God just end the planet now we're an experiment gone horribly wrong!
@nandansho See there you go again! If you think about what Joe Barton was saying and process it without bias, you'd understand that Barton was say. The president does not have any rights under the Constitution to fine BP or any other company. So the 20 Billion which by the way BP would have been required to pay plus more is already in the books. So what Obama did was one of his grand standing shake downs. Not unlike what Jessey Jackson does allover America!
@CPOSharkey01 Lemme help you out..BP AGREED TO THE 20 BILLION. No fine was imposed. Example..Parking lot accident occurs car 1 backs into car 2 Car one admits fault and says hey We don't need lawyers or police involved. How much you want to fix that dent and your time? Car 2 says 200.00 cash. Car 1 pays. Mutual agreement. It happens all over America. Verbal contract
@nandansho YOU FAIL! Point 1 - If this were the scenario you played out then we would have to assume that Obama really is more stupid than I give him credit for. In your scenario you believe that the 20 Billion is the end of it. The fact is that BP will pay way more than 20 Billion over the life of the cleanup. Point 2 - this is not an agreement between 2 people it is a shale down perpetrated by the President of the United States who has no right to act as Judge and jury in any case!
@CPOSharkey01 I fail? What are you my grade school Teacher now? Sorry bub nowhere in my post did I say 20bill is it. Nope. Don't change the subject Bub this is about you claiming the Prez lied and me asking you for proof. So far Your sloppy segway into non-sequiturs don't cut it. Thanks for showing the world that People like you lie all day about Obama but when somebody challenges your BS you resort to name calling and playground mentality,.ciao!
@nandansho You changed the subject and here's where you said the following "Car 2 says 200.00 cash. Car 1 pays. Mutual agreement. It happens all over America. Verbal contract" these transaction are typically the end of the situation. Don't get so caught up in your racial solidarity that you can't see the truth here. Obama or his staff changed the reports after the fact and that's what all 7 of his industry expert told the Wall Street Journal! you know you could just look it up!
@CPOSharkey01 Ronald reagan used the term "there you go again" during his debates with Carter. Are you channeling mr Reagan now? If so Mr president what was it like working with a monkey in bedtime for Bonzo?
@CPOSharkey01 I see Mr President. Um did Oliver North tell you to use that I don't recall line when asked about selling weapons to the contras? BTW you're dead Mr Prez so there's no way of prosecuting you for this. XD
@nandansho Talk about changing the subject good lord man what to hell is wrong with you doesn't your brain stay focus for more than a minute! Ollie North give me a break LOL
@nandansho I'm deaf but I never used that as an excuse not to contribute and study. I had a teacher try to tell me that my daughter had ADHD, as i turned out the teacher wasn't a doctor and my daughter was just lazy. Now she is an honors student, all it took was attention to detail and to educate the laziness out of her. Sounds like no one worked with you on that trait as your still asking to be spoon fed information!
Odumbo thought he had dictatorship power. Oh well, when tested in court he is soundly rebuffed.
Now, as for the oil companies, we QUICKLY need to validate what sort of contingency plans they have in place. EXISTING regulation should dictate that they are to cease operations if they have technology that has not been proven (proven to fail).

Pic on my page, I have hair lol

@CPOSharkey01 Nice try, but you're still avoiding the question. You said "Republicans would have fixed the oil already" I asked "What have republicans done to mitigate the damage in the gulf" The question is Fair and respectful, my whole comment may not have been.
It's also common for Reps to label someone as a dem when they disagree. Nice try, but you're all idiots. Dems want my money and Reps want my personal freedom.
I'm fiscally conservative & socially liberal, much like Ron.
everythingeco 1 year ago

The republicans are in no position to do anything, so it is rather hilarious that you claim that they should be the ones to act.
madehero2007 1 year ago
@madehero2007 1, read the convo before you jump in. 2 Never said the Rs should do anything, let alone be the first. 3 My orig post was a response to "Rs would have fixed this already" I asked "What have Rs done to mitigate the damage so far" I got NO answer until the last post, then yours. So FINALLY the answer is in fact "Nothing" - because Obama won't let us" Do I have that right?
Don't be condescending when replying without relevant knowledge of the context in which the discussion rests.
everythingeco 1 year ago
@everythingeco I don't care about the entire conversation. I was posting a reply to one comment of yours, not the entire conversation that you carried out. You mentioned that there was no excuse for the republicans' inaction, which suggests that you believe that some response or action should be done. The rest of my comment was focused on your claim of a republican government. Condescension is relative. I saw your previous comments, and knew what was in this comment.
madehero2007 1 year ago
@madehero2007 There's no excuse for anyone inaction! Particularly near half of our government! I pay taxes, I sure you do as well. We don't pay them to sit on their thumbs bitching in times of national crisis, we pay them to fix problems.
I'm not a fan of the Dems or republicans, but at least the dems are doing something. Didn't take O a freggin week to get there.
So yes, I am greatly disappointed with the inaction of out paid & elected officials. That's not wrong!
everythingeco 1 year ago
@everythingeco I agree that you are free to have any given opinion that you wish. However, I am also free to present my views. Obama has had nothing but inaction. In fact, he has actually gone out of his way to prevent clean-up attempts. Within the first days, he kept BP from following MMS and OSHA protocol, which issues a controlled burn of the leaking oil. The government is not their to fix all of our problems, and in situations like this, it would be better if they just got out of the way.
madehero2007 1 year ago
@CPOSharkey01 Nothing can be accomplished by following the federal government, which is why the republicans within the gulf states have begun to ignore the federal government. Whether it be the use of barges to block oil from reaching portions of the coast, or lifting the ban on drilling, the republicans are doing what they can to fix the mess while the democrats do what they can to use this disaster to enforce their liberal agenda down the throats of the public.
madehero2007 1 year ago
@madehero2007 I'm sure there are both Democrat and Republican voters in the gulf doing what they have to do. Do you have any proof that there is any sort of organized republican effort in the gulf? So far all I see is Barton worrying about his paycheck and a Judge who thinks US will fall if we go 6 months without a new rig. I've seen no organized effort, nor have I seen the efforts Obama is blocking. Do you have any documentation or links? I'm interested.
everythingeco 1 year ago
@everythingeco I was not referring to voters. I was referring to elected officials. Most of the citizens residing along the gulf are probably doing all that they can to help, and I know that political ideals do not limit that. Bobby Jindal ignored the federal government and ordered the use of barges to block the oil, which was broadcast on multiple stations. Martin Feldman aslo overturned Obama's six-month moratorium on deep-water drilling, which was also broadcast on multiple media outlets.
madehero2007 1 year ago
@madehero2007 Jundal Using barges, against orders? I'll look into it. Thank you for a real answer. Feldman however is an idoit! Allowing more new rigs to be set up with a catastrophe at hand is hardly an effort to mitigate damage being done by the current rig. I group him with Barton, who is a flaming idiot! I'm not interested in hearing the opinion from anyone who makes that much $ from oil.
My first post was "What are the Rs doing?" still sort of struggling with it.
everythingeco 1 year ago
@everythingeco The ruling was not about "mitigating damages." It was about the prevention of further job loss and economic damage to the surrounding area. A six-month moratorium on drilling will result in the loss of those oil wells, which will result in thousands of lost jobs. I could careless where Feldman gets his money. Obama gets money from oil as well. In fact, he invested even more money in deep-water drilling, but it was a Brazilian company and not a US company.
madehero2007 1 year ago
@madehero2007 You didn't read the PM. You keep comparing to Obama as if I think he is on top of everything. Republicans and Dems are idiots alike, and not much different from each other once they're off the campaign trail and in Washington.
And I do care where they get their money from, particularly when it's such a huge amount as with Bartons case. It effects decision making.
Lastly, this conversation was about mitigating damage.
Brother, Context is always relevant, you should know this.
everythingeco 1 year ago
@everythingeco I apologize. I received the comment replies before the message. I try to set funding aside and go based on political history. Barton's stance is beneficial to the energy sector and the health-care industry, which is why he has received increasing amounts of funding from both. Businesses often fund politicians that they agree with. That being said, I agree that context is relevant.

First Vid on youtube covering this.
Besides, there's plenty of oil floating in the gulf we're begging someone to collect.

organized religion can be blamed for a nation of "christians" that celebrates greed and the destruction of planet earth and the oceans for an unsutainable and limited energy supply.
a willful mistinerpretation of biblical text for the sake of power: God does not love man (or his unborn babies) is the meaning of Adam & Eve.
we are His one mistake.
a mistake that has placed in extinction a quarter of the animals He so loves.

CPOSharkey01 1 year ago
@CPOSharkey01 I'm holding your post to the Fire Name this lie Obama made who did he lie to? What is your proof. I want exact quotes and date of the lie. We'll see who's the liar here.
nandansho 1 year ago
@nandansho Fare enough Obama claimed the 7 industry experts recommended the moratorium and all 7 claim the recommendation was added after their report was issued! In fact all 7 claim that closing producing platforms would be more dangerous in the long run!
CPOSharkey01 1 year ago
@CPOSharkey01 Obama claimed this eh? I said exact quotes did'nt I? Time of day or day and place would be nice too. Watch how easy it is for me to claim a politician said something.....Sarah Palin said that her husband hates eskimos and wants to kill them with poison whale oil. True Story. See pretty easy huh? Yup just like what you're doing.

Oh great! the well is'nt plugged the Government is stretched to it's limit in cleaning up a FUCKING PRIVATE UK COMPANYS FUCK-UP. And this friggen judge is worried about MONEY??! Joe Barton right here folks. Somebody needs to deliver judge Martin an oil soaked crawdad sandwich with tar Balls and 30 weight filled oysters. The Gulf is DESTROYED gone, done. Oh God just end the planet now we're an experiment gone horribly wrong!
nandansho 1 year ago
@nandansho See there you go again! If you think about what Joe Barton was saying and process it without bias, you'd understand that Barton was say. The president does not have any rights under the Constitution to fine BP or any other company. So the 20 Billion which by the way BP would have been required to pay plus more is already in the books. So what Obama did was one of his grand standing shake downs. Not unlike what Jessey Jackson does allover America!
CPOSharkey01 1 year ago
@CPOSharkey01 Lemme help you out..BP AGREED TO THE 20 BILLION. No fine was imposed. Example..Parking lot accident occurs car 1 backs into car 2 Car one admits fault and says hey We don't need lawyers or police involved. How much you want to fix that dent and your time? Car 2 says 200.00 cash. Car 1 pays. Mutual agreement. It happens all over America. Verbal contract
nandansho 1 year ago
@nandansho YOU FAIL! Point 1 - If this were the scenario you played out then we would have to assume that Obama really is more stupid than I give him credit for. In your scenario you believe that the 20 Billion is the end of it. The fact is that BP will pay way more than 20 Billion over the life of the cleanup. Point 2 - this is not an agreement between 2 people it is a shale down perpetrated by the President of the United States who has no right to act as Judge and jury in any case!
CPOSharkey01 1 year ago
@CPOSharkey01 I fail? What are you my grade school Teacher now? Sorry bub nowhere in my post did I say 20bill is it. Nope. Don't change the subject Bub this is about you claiming the Prez lied and me asking you for proof. So far Your sloppy segway into non-sequiturs don't cut it. Thanks for showing the world that People like you lie all day about Obama but when somebody challenges your BS you resort to name calling and playground mentality,.ciao!
nandansho 1 year ago
@nandansho You changed the subject and here's where you said the following "Car 2 says 200.00 cash. Car 1 pays. Mutual agreement. It happens all over America. Verbal contract" these transaction are typically the end of the situation. Don't get so caught up in your racial solidarity that you can't see the truth here. Obama or his staff changed the reports after the fact and that's what all 7 of his industry expert told the Wall Street Journal! you know you could just look it up!
