  • I know what you are getting at, but as explained in the video a lot of the time these notations are not stated and the user has to interpret the context.

  • what do you mean with "not stated"?

And by the way Oct is releated to 8 as in octave, octet, (october), and octal.

  • I know Oct is related to eight. It comes from okto in greek and octo in Latin.

It states also in this video that sometimes h,d,o or b are used as prefixes when referring to different numbering systems. But sometimes the prefixes are not used in certain situations, if you do not know that then please do not comment without facts.

  • I never thought you didn't know that oct is releated to 8, but I thought some people that could read the comments wouldn't take any damage by reading it.

And you said that sometimes the prefixes aren't used, but they were used this time, so I don't see a problem.

  • @AreSkavlid Thanks for the interest in the video.

  • This take me back to high school years in computer class :p I wonder if you can do a video on setting up a UNIX machine and show us how its used.

  • Thanks, I might do that...might be difficult to get into ten minutes :-)

  • can break it up into a number of parts I am sure many ppl will be interested in that since its something we can try as we follow your videos.

  • Almost into byte size pieces. I do intend this to be something people can follow.
