  • I have a mini lop that does this too, Dottie....she is 11 and i believe what they are doing is continuing to clean/groom themselves like they used to, but because they are old now, the tongues doesn't reach the places they used to...just like us when we get older...I can hardly reach my toenails between being arthritic and also overweight...lol. So they just pretend like they still can do it...makes them feel better. :)

  • He's so cute. How old is he?

  • Thanks. He's now 10 yrs., 4 mths.

  • yes that is strange, with the head going backwards? makes me wonder, too. hope it's just his habit.

  • @anaerobe I've seen some our bunnies do the self same thing, but only when grooming. First time I thought they were pulling on some particularly long hair, usually on the dew lap. After watching for head tilt, and dismissing that, we put it down to one of those idiosyncrasies made to worry us to death.

  • yes, in one eye (the eye facing the camera)

  • Is he blind?
