Reminds me of composing Commodore 64 SID music or emulating pulse-width sounds with the 3rd channel on the Nintendo Entertainment System and such! :-)
Very good interview! For me, Curtis is an inspiration also in the way of composing instrumental music, starting from another musical point of view: composing timbres and structures also in ensambles of classical instruments. as it is said before paradigm shift!
Fantastic. I studied with Curtis at Oberlin in the early 90s; he was, and continues to be, a huge inspiration. It may be difficult for people to understand nowadays what it was like when Cloud Generator was first released - let's just say "paradigm shift."
