  • What a treasure. and... to Mr.Leonid Haritonov, There was hardly a bass on stage anywhere in the world with as rich and beautiful a voice as yours, from your top notes to your low notes, you are simply awe-inspiring, sir. God has blessed us with the gift of your voice.

  • Предишното беше до СМЕРТ ФАШИСТКИХ ОКУПАТОРА нуклеър

  • GOD сега се мъчи със други неблагородни личности

  • Perfection is not enough to describe this :')

  • jizz in my balalaika

  • This is an awesome version. Great voice and the accordion is off the hook! Thanks!!

  • Слава Русским!!!.

  • look at the Kazakhs ...amazing performance

  • that was amazing:D

  • can u imagine army guys singing this ?

  • What great musicians!

  • Only one word is here in it's place: BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • Ощущение единства русского народа...!

  • The ensemble's discipline was amazing in the 60's!

  • goddamn, Russians know their shit. if i wasn't American, the only nationality i would want to be is Russian. u just cant talk shit about them, if you do, you'll probably end up face down in the snow bleeding out.

  • @Rottenvenetic - absolutely. This is such a traditional song & must have been sung a 1000 times but the physical joy of singing well, the pleasure in the song, singing with comrades, entertaining an audience - it all comes across here from the tips of his boots to the top of his cap. And what a voice.

  • These guys are/were truly epic, but what I like the most is how the soloist just won't get that massive grin off his face. I love it when performers, especially musicians, have so much fun as they entertain and enrich humanity.

  • Incredible song! just incredible! Each time I listen it, I can feel shivers all over the body. Just no words for this... I like it very much

  • @blaskovytz haha your not the only one, i get it from most of the songs

  • In 1991 I shared my office space with 2 distinguished curators from the Soviet Academy of Sciences who were in Canada to prepare for the opening of Crossroads of Continents at the Canadian Museum of Civilizations.

After weeks of listening to one sing or hum the Beatles every day, I finally started whistling Kalinka.

"How do you know that song?"

“If you know the Beatles behind the Iron Curtain, we know the the Red Army Choir!”

  • @Quisyfrottesypique The very best statement I ever read!!! I'm German, grow up just on the border. In TV from at that times East-Germany I heard the russian music.... So you are absolutley right!

  • Another superman on earth, his voice carries you to the sky ... way way up high ......

  • beautiful

  • the whole interpretation is tremendous but at 3:07 Yevgeny stops singing and God starts..

  • @NoClearDestination

    WOW! What a comment!

It's hard to deny it! ))

  • @NoClearDestination

    I agree.

  • I'm so happy to have found this video version here and to know Wikipedia now has a webpage biography for Evgeny Belyaev. My cup is filled today! How sad that Evgeny did not move into opera performances. He would have been marvellous, I'm sure. He was such a gifted singer and had immense stage presence. The public always knows but at least we can appreciate his recordings all these decades later. Thanks so much.

  • Excellent voice....and yeah, those Communists really knew how to throw a "Party"! - ok, couldn't resist!

  • @madcapromanian haha your ok

  • The best performance of "Kalinka". Суть песни - когда умираешь, жизнь продолжается не смотря ни на что. В ней душа русского народа заключена. Моё уважение за прекрасные минуты видео.

  • I have sent you two video responses for this video (Kalinka 1946 and 1948). If you want them, please click on "Accept". Enjoy!

  • @riverhouse2007

    Of course!... Done.

  • Thank you!

  • Bravo!
