It costs >1 Billion to deliver a drug to market. The Pelosi version of the bill says that there will be no denial for pre-existing illness. Therefore there is no reason to buy coverage until you get sick. Why pay in for 20 years when you can wait until you get sick and then get covered. Only sick people or people with costly medical conditions would take part. I would never trade the freedom that the Constitution of the US outlines for the gov. control that exists in a socialized health care country.

Insurance covers yearly checkups and illness that pops up on you unexpectedly, which may incur costs before you can even sign up for healthcare.

Insurance is something you want before you need it, not after you do.

The gov can't mandate anything. It is much cheaper to pay a fine for not having insurance and waiting until you get a serious illness and then buy it. That's one reason this bill would cost so much to the taxpayers.

If insurance would go back to covering just serious sickness and injury instead of doctor visits and preventative medicine we would be better off.
