Lol at playing fast paced dynamic fps such as UT on console controller. Good luck in your turret match. Its not unplayable but your heavily handicapped, no matter how hard you try you can't match even an average keyboard + mouse player. Only game in which you can somehow keep up with keyboard + mouse players is in simplistic point and shot fps such as MW2. Not to mention that online you have crazy fanatic players who play the series online since Unreal.
i never knew you had a ps3? i have one too xD, im assuming you sold your xbox, btw ps2 version of ut99 is garbage, mainly due to the lack of online multiplayer
@mutantx20 I've still got my 360 as well, but I don't have a gold account with it. I see no point in wasting the money on it now. As for the PS2 version, it's good for some simple bot deathmatching. I wouldn't pay $50 for it, but I probably paid around $5-$7 for it, so it's good for the price I paid. I also want to get the DC version as well just to see the differences.
@teh2Dgamer haha yes i love the dreamcast, never had one though, ut99 and quake 3 was beast on it, i liked how it had a very good online service, similar to xbox live (without the price :P) the online was really well, if you had a lan adapter, but i dont think the online still works for ut99 on it though, idk i'll have to look more into it
Console players camp more because they're much less flexible then PC gamers, control wise, due to the limitations of console controllers and analog sticks.
Even if you max out their sensitivity, you can't ever match the combination speed and precision given by a mouse.
And of course, if you would max the sensitivity setting on a console, you most likely wouldn't be able to hit anything. But it sure does look hilarious when you just stand still and spin around. ;D
Also the keyboard is more convenient for arranging the controls just as you want them. Though oftentimes, there's only one way you want to arrange them, as follows: With a keyboard mouse combo, you have the benefit of using one hand for movement actions (W A S D for movement, C/CTRL for ducking, Space for jumping), and the other hand solely focused on weapon aiming and usage (Mouse and mouse keys).
On a controller on the other hand, the aiming thumb has to double for all other functions, such as jumping (Which makes jumping shots a pain to pull off).
Re-arranging the functions on the buttons often helps, but you'll still end up with at least a few crucial functions on less ideal keys.
Really, only the trigger fingers and related shoulder buttons are independent, which doesn't really help. Sure, you can shoot anytime, but not always aim for those shots.
Ugh... camping should only be allowed when using Sniper Rifles. That's how I play CoD: MW, anyway. The rest of the weapons I just run using Extreme Conditioning.
I played R2 at a friend's house, and I wasn't impressed with the SP campaign. Plus the aiming was off. The left and right aim bleeds into the up and down aim making it damn near impossible to line up a precise shot on a moment's notice.

@mutantx20 As far as I know the online for UT DC is long gone, but I think some people have found a way to play QIII still

lol I think we played DM a couple of times, but damn I can't believe people actually use the zoom for the sniper

Heh, playing with a keyboard and mouse on a console, I never thought about that
I wonder how many use that setup online
And will it give you an advantage over the dualshock-users?

I still got murdered online. In order for you to use it, it has to be a server that allows for KB and mouse support. Some servers don't but other do.

It's not called Deck 16 on UT3 It's just 'Deck'

I know, but it's Deck 16 damn it. They can change the name, but it will always be Deck 16 to me.

2Dgamer you should get Resistance Fall of Man. It has a good Single Player and Multiplayer. But don't get Resistance 2 it's HORRIBLE!

Resistance Fall of Man is a much different than Resistance 2. Resistance 2 is pretty much a COD 4 clone. Also have you played Killzone 2?
