  • I just love Sean..he was the best bond...he was not only a tough guy but had a lot of charm.

  • That's no woman, IT'S A MAN, BABY!

  • When the wardrobe falls on the fake window, the hat comes off. But when Bond lifts the wardobe up, the hat is still on him. (Film mistakes)

  • @DALEKGRP Yeah and also at 0:57 when the fake widow loses a shoe but for the rest of the fight it's back on his foot. And isn't that a fake rubber poker at the end?

  • @88tommyb666 Oh yes, very true. And probably yes, it does look rubber.

Previous comment was supposed to say widow not window, sorry bout that.

  • Connery was the best Bond ever.

  • he had to throw the flowers!

  • 0:45 lethal chair XD

  • it's not the best Bond film - I think OHMSS and Goldfinger are superior - but there is a certain magic about Thunderball

  • Aaaaaaand there goes the furniture.

    What a waste!

  • @Atvishees I was think the same thing!

  • Although he's fighting a man in drag this fight is pretty brutal for the time :D

  • The punch at 00.51 looks damn real.

  • Colonel Bouvar always reminded me of Bernard Cribbins.

  • Best Bond opening scene of the early Connery movies next to Goldfinger's.

  • Wow, I don't remember "Some Like It Hot" being this action-packed and brutal, LOL

  • When I first saw this, at 0:20 I was like WTF?! You can't hit a woman! That would have been real hard to recover from if it WAS a widow : /

  • I would of laughed if that actually turned out to be a real griving widdow.

  • What I loved about this is that there was really absolutely no need to throw flowers on the guy other than to be a sick douche.

  • Jacques Bouvar didn't die from the strangling - the flowers Bond threw was poisonous!

  • Bob Simmons was a great stuntman. RIP

  • Sean Connery, best bond...

He killed a cross-dress and made it look badass...

  • "I have come to offer my sincere condolences." Ha ha ha

  • "That's not your mother. It's a man, baby!" - Austin Powers

  • that guy looks good in a dress

  • One of the best Bond intro's.

  • John Barry at his best.

  • Lol, when I first saw this 007 film I thought 007 actually hit a woman!!!!!

  • LOL yeah when i first saw this fight i was like how the hell did Bond know that she was a guy dressed as a women coz for most of the intro u see his voice and it looks like a women but great fight

  • @charlieiscool1000 It was subtle, but Bond knew because he saw "her" opening up the car door WITHOUT the aid of one of the men standing by. That's what tipped him off.

    ;-)

  • @PeekaPeep As he says "You should never open a car door by yourself."

  • 88tommyb666 good call!!!

  • I love this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Continuity errors:

When the dresser falls down on Bouvar, his hat falls off, in the next shot bond pulls the hat/wig off Bouvar's head.

At about 0:58, Bouvars shoe flies off, yet for the rest of the fight it's back on.

At the end when Bouvar falls through the table and grabs the (rubber) poker, the fire is burning, yet when Bond throttles Bouvar with the poker, there's no flames.

  • I guess Bond's mother didn't teach him to hit girls.

  • i'm sure he had a witty line after he throws the flowers on the colonel..but it was cut off.

  • No, he doesn't actually, he was running away from the Colonel's men.

  • This James Bond film "Thunderball" is also available on Blu-Ray disc.

  • i love this film :-)

i got the remasted dvd & the sound is excellent!!

on my m8'z home cinema everytime there's a explosion in the film it makes the whole house shake lol

  • Didn't Bob Simmons stand in for Tony Curtis in SOME LIKE IT HOT?

    IIRC?

An excellent fight sequence. Right up there with the classics.

  • what a bad way to treat a woman HEHEHE

  • They threw everything but the kitchen sink.

  • I love how he snaps his neck at the end

  • Anyone else notice the shoe flying off Bouvar at 0:56?

  • yes that was funny

  • What's with the skipping at 0:53?

  • A really poor editing job. From what I've read, post-production work on this film was blistering fast.

  • What the hell are you talking about? Peter Hunt's editing in the first few Bond films (including this) are some of the best editing cinema has ever seen, and was revolutionary for it's time.

  • Fair enough, it sounds as if you know more than I do about this. I was simply stating that this *looks* like a classic example of a "jump" :)

  • I know I was just saying that the jump cut works seamlessly - and In my opinion should be used more often today, as opposed to shaky cam - to create a feeling of intensity and restlessness. :)

  • @joey20112 mid 60s tech. Back then in order to make things look violent and or real sometimes skips had to be made to edit out the showing of fakeness. So the skipping you saw was to prevent the showing of the fakeness that was being done.

  • Bob's gone mad!

  • The Colonel looked like Jack Lennon!!!

  • Lol I can just imagine Sean Connery saying in his head, "The gun barrel sequence is MINE now!" as he killed Bob onscreen.

  • La vrai bonne façon de se conduire avec les dames .

The real good method with women.

  • Money Penny: I always thought you were the type for a widow.

Bond: Oh, not this one, he didn't like me at all. XD

  • It wasn't Monney Penny that said that..it was Patricia Fearing...

  • its not money - penny - its his therapist patricia

  • Spy vs. Spy

The older Bond films with Sean Connery are still the best. Raw action no fake tech. Men vs Men.

And of course Men vs. Beautiful Dangerous Women.

  • This is what I love about the early Bond movies, they look real and have real use of improvised weapons in the environment.

  • Just saying, if Bond lost this fight he should shoot himself I mean he got beat by a guy in drag

  • why did bond throw flowers onto the villian

  • I think he did it to show some respect for the dead.

  • I don`t want to die wearing a woman`s dress and high heels!! :P

  • The man who played Bouvar was actually Connery's usual stuntman: Bob Simmons.

  • and Simmons was the first man to actually play Bond: he was the Bond in the gun barrel scene in Dr. No

  • Barry Nelson was actually the first man to ever play Bond back in the1954 T.V. movie "Casino Royale".

  • yeah but I heard that sucked

  • yeah I love thee old fights, the fact you can actually see them as opposed to quick cuts like on the bourne films, this is way better!!! classic bond films are the best,

  • Love how he can't resist the Lillies touch. Lovely bit of Bond.

  • This is one of my favorite Bond fight scenes of all time.

  • Ooooh nasty neck snap at 1:18

  • Yeah, I think that sound effect gets cut out on basic cable. I think this is the first time I've heard it, and I've seen this movie like 6 times! I love the girls in this one too.

  • Fight favory

  • I love watching Bond beat the shit out of fags!

  • @mopbrothers douche

  • @mopbrothers Why would you say something so hurtful, you don't know anything about that person. How would you feel if someone said something like that to you?

  • Why they don`t make movies like in the old times!???

I want a movie as good as Thunderball or Goldinger or F.R.W.L WERE, ARE and WILL BE the best!!!!

  • I'd love it if Thunderball was made into an actual game on PlayStation or on Xbox and you can play this fight scene however you want to, that'll be so cool, just like how they made From Russia With Love.

  • Imagine this whole fight happening inside a Japanese estate, where the assassin turns to be a Japanese enemy agent who does lethal karate and martial arts moves on 007, that would be so cool.

  • Bob Simmons was the best stunt man ever, to perform such combat moves. THUNDERBALL is the one of the very best Bond Movies.

  • great touch from sean, throwing the flowers on the dead corpse.

  • I think that's one of the most memorable scenes of this fight scene along with the whole fight itself

  • Its the dude from Mash!

  • to a KILL, lol

  • and a room with a VIEW.

  • :))

  • a date with a widow.... :D

  • Bond looks extremely well-dressed and business like here.

  • at least try and rip bond's suit up or SOMETHING before going down, lol.

  • You shouldn't have opened that car door by yourself.

  • Honestly i thought that person in the dress was a woman with those thin eye- brows.

Hilarious this fight is, especially when he ends up breaking his own furniture

  • At 0:56, Bouvars' right shoe comes off and in the next shots it's back on his foot.

  • LOL at 0:26, you can see Bouvars' wig clearly, but when bond pulls the dresser up, the wig's under the hat.

  • That ain't no woman. It's a man!

  • It's a man, baby!

  • i thought it was more like "She's a man, man!"

  • That's so funny, honestly

  • That's funny

  • can you post other thunderball parts

  • Boy, the early Bond fight choreographers really knew how to tear up a room.

  • Are all the fights in Thunderball sped up?

  • 'Madamn, I've got to offer my sincere con dollances'

  • i would like to get some stills on this fight does anyone have any ??????

  • You could say that this fight is Bond vs Bond at the time lol because the guy who played Colonel Jacques Bouvar stunt doubled Connery more than a fare few times as Bond

  • Thats right. He was the guy who did the first three gun barrels for Connery.

  • He also did aload of fights as Connerys double and he did alot of the long shot scenes as Connery

  • is anyone like the way he is killed wearing womens clothes ?????

  • It is kind of kinky. Like getting a male friend to dress in drag and then groping them.

  • Love the way Bouvar slides across the carpet.

  • wonder what he was thinking as he slid maybe he liked it

  • JESUS! Connery throws that chair like it was nothing! ROFL

  • That guy put up quite a fight considering he was wearing heels the whole time.

  • Why the 007 producers renounced at SPECTRE...,,they killed Blofeld in Four your eyes only".Maybe they should put another Blofeld :))

  • They should have never killed off Blofeld.. He was one of the best, who kept getting away.

  • You shouldn't have opened that car door by yourself.

  • This has the best Trip Schene ever.

  • Most welcome!

  • I wanted to see this for ages! Thanks!!
