When I first saw this, I was hoping it was real, as it would have been really nice to see a few Battlestars going toe-to-toe with Baseships.

BS Triton And BS Titan are 2 different class ships. If you search about the designes at internet in offical sites (for the colonial fleet ship designes) you can see the 2 different schematics. Tho both of them are destroyed in the first cyclonian attack on scorpion shipyards. Triton was the first on the colonial fleet lost and destroyed list because it was the recent Admiral of the colonial fleets flagship. etc etc. The clip could be fake but the ships are not

I'd also like to add that is a video on youtube which is deleted footage of four mercury class batllestars in a battlrow hit with missiles at the scorpion dock yards. They also deleted what looked to be a valkrie class battlestar with is entire engine array turning over backwards in a ball of flame from a nuke strike. It is such a shame they deleted the two from razor. Those two shots were awsome and really sold the scorpion dock destruction.

Hades is the correct pronunciation as per the book of the greek gods. Hades was the god of the underworld. So it's not spelt wrong.

Haydes was a made up name for a battlestar most likely based off this video which resides on the Sci-fi mesh website. And that battlestar which is on the sci-fi mesh website was made approx 12 months after the original trailer was released.

The name of this song is " A Distant Sadness ". It is the first song on the season 3 soundtrack. Skycaprob, you might be thinking of the " Triton ". In the first episode (miniseries) Adama reads off a list of destroyed ships..Triton was one of those. Most of this footage was NEVER used in any season of Battlestar Galactica and I've seen every episode..there was never any flashback or anything about a group of battlestars..to bad too, that would have rocked !

sorry but the battlestar u see there is the battlestar titan...btw its not the largest ship in the fleet its bigger than the pegasus but its a fan made design but that ship looks similar to the design same as one of the civilian ships is a strike star and was designed for escort lol fanbaced

but thats most prob what they are going to do cus at one point in season one or two the galactica had no contact with cylon ships at all for almsot 4to 5 months i always thought that a nother battlestar may of been causeing problems or sumin

it does they the admiral has taken command of the fleet. so i recon there was limited movement. also Pegasus showed the even whilst the virus shut down all the weapons and systems they can still manually fire guns. I hope they show it, BSG is a great show it, better than the old one in many ways. The old bsg was about space battles, I think a few more of them would have made it the greatest show ever.

I am hoping, its a taste of the BSG movie. They said it was going to be from the Cylon view of the war. In the miniseries it states a large number of Battlestars being destroyed. Perhaps we will get to see the Clyons battling with them. I hope we do!

whilst yes this is 99.9% likely to be fake, there's no reason to say it is based just on the fact the titan turns up and hasn't been seen in the main episodes. We know this is a class that existed in TOS as a concept I think, so basing it off having not seen it yet isn't a good one.

the only thing that really gives away this isn't proffesionally done by the actual team, or inteded for use in the series, is that the fight scenes around 0:40 look really fake. They arn't bad, but they look less like those we saw in the origional miniseries, and those were the very first we saw, and they have upgraded since then. I suppose they look good enough to pass, but they just arn't quite there for me. Still, they are amazing models, and amazing graphics.

I have looked at this for a long time. I work in the business, and still some of the shots don't add up as a home job. I believe most are animatic line up shots. But its the complexity, of the actual shots, that raises my eyebrow. Who..or those that made this really really know what they are doing. That to me sugests..professional artists. The shot at .50 get me. The scale, lighting,nebula, the ships themsleves as well as running deck lights..that animation unto itself is so perfect. Pro done.

This can't be show-real, ppl, come on :) RDM would rather die than bring in a whole armada of battlestars to save the day, get real:). He always said his story is about the characters...when he wrote the series' finale, remember what he said he had written on the board in the writers' room? "It's the characters, stupid." BSG is essentially a character drama, and as much as I love the battle scenes and the awesome CGI involved, I don't think RDM would ever betray his original intention.

I don't think this is a fake trailer. R&D LOVES to keep us in suspense..I think we can all agree on that. The battle scene at 1.09 has never been on tv. Deltaboy, those 8 landing bays are actually 4..total. 2 on each side. and upper and a lower..there is a small section extended on each bay..it's tricky, but that's what it is. Lets not forget about a raptor that FTL'd away from a battle in season 4.5. he was wounded..who's to say that he doesn't find this fleet of 3 battlestars ?

The raptor the jumped away in 4.5 appeared at the galactica with the pilot dead. Thats how galactica managed to retrace the raptors steps and find the remains of the hub after the battle. I don't think its a real trailer, just an excellent fake. Still lets hope i'm proved wrong because it looks awesome

Thats alot of landing bays. I count 8 landing bays on one of the battlestars at .55 time.

Not in the first two seasons they didn't but the purple bluish type light that surrounds the cylon fighter duct lanch tubes yayaya were most visable in exodus 2 when pegasus was destroyed. The purplish lighting was their. Have a look at a the dvd. I've seen it.

Although it may be a fake and a well done one one thing I noticed is at 1:12 i don't see why some one would go through as much trouble to put a Mercury Class vessel (a ship like Pegasus)in there battleing.

To clear things up further,let me say that most Sci-fi fan forums and community's, model their craft like Iosysomega's model, based on what they see on the screen. Very very few, model their crafts based on imagination, and those that do, reside using existing models or screen references. And in saying that..the models used in this preview apart from the obvious mercury class, reside on not one forum anywhere on the internet. They are unique and were purpose built for a reason.

Just to clear things up, this came up on one of the forum I go to a few months ago, because it included some models people there made, including one of mine (The one firing the flak barrage, I was so happy :P). It is fake, I imagine whoever animated the footage probably just thought it would be fun to make some bsg battle scenes and throw it in with existing trailer clips. So don't get your hopes up about a battlestar group arriving to save the day. I'd cry if they resorted to that.

It's a fake. Just look at the Sci-Fi bar at the bottom, the lettering is stretched, and the purple bar only extends half as far as it should. In addition, the episode has past, and, while the CGI is damn-well near professional, it is not official BSG material. There is simply no room in the story for disappointing dreck like this to surface.

well, I for one will keep my hopes up, maybe your right, but we still have another 10 episodes left of the serries, plus the mid-season mini-sodes, which could very well be placed at any point in time. It may not be a preasent day fleet... plus how can we know its not official BSG material? I'm not the creator, nor are you, and this is you-tube, video quality for this vid has been lowered when uploaded...

Granted, I can't say definitively, but it just seems unlikely that 3-4 new Battlestars would surface this late in the series and at the Ionian Nebula, which the fleet has long left behind, (I'm speculating that they're located there judging by the background and other clips in this trailer). While the possibility that it is a fleet from the Original Cylon War is enticing, it is, again, unlikely. As well as this is made, there is just no official statements or evidence to support that it is real.

In addition, if it made an appearance on TV it was most likely to pay tribute to the obvious amount of work that was put into this. I'm not questioning its quality, (excepting, of course that it is nowhere near show quality), I'm questioning its validity. I just do not see any way to integrate this in ten episodes, especially with the vast amount of questions RDM already has to answer. Speaking of Ron, if this were real, don't you think RDM would have mentioned or acknowledged it?

Thats proberbly because this preview is a screen capture of the original. The original was up on youtube 2 months before season 4 started and a week prior to Hypers release, right at the point of the writers strike. The scifi lettering and bar, and preview was perfect before it was removed by whoever upped it. It had several hundred thousand views and was upped by a worker at Dreamworks. Thier is a full HD version that was on tv..for the record.

How do you know it's fake..it may have been a teaser for something yet to come. If it's a fake..it was professionally done. I have seen many fan flics on youtube and elsewhere..this one leaves them for dead. It's not the content..it the nebula and DOF used. How many fan vids use DOF...none.

well, I have it on relativly good support that this was on TV, unless Sci-fi tell us themself, also, this is CGI, and theres still another 10 episodes left to the serries, there is a hell of alot to come, the writers themselves have stated they want to end the show with one huge conflict/battle, and that the last half will include more space battles than any other season to date... theres a good chance this is from that next half...

At this point in the series, there is no logical reason to introduce a colonial fleet, other than pure shark jumping fanwank. Not going to happen.

Well, its been said also that there'll be a 10-minisode set between the mid-season break, and we've already had the last set which looked into the past, perhaps this is the same, that'd fit it in? Plus, there was interesting theories that the 13th colony was more advanced than the 12, pehaps those are the surviving ships... just a wild guess, we'll certainly find out if its real or not next part of the season.

Wow there turbo... its fun to always wonder. After all, isn't that what the directors have tried to get us to do all along? Imagine for ourselves the outcome? Even if it isn't real, it is nevertheless intriguing and a pretty thought/hope provoking trailer. I doubt it is real too, but it is always fun to imagine.

I wonder how quickly Titan would wipe out a basestar with it's turrents. It's frakking guns are huge, frak the whole ship is huge. Watching this in full screen mode, the scale & depth is quite imppresive.

These battlestars are in the same inonian nebula as was galactica....remember....what the hybrid said....This has all happened ***BEFORE***..In the past it was Titan...and will happen again..present = Galactica.

There is no way this was a fan vid. The lighting rig is way to sofisicated and it was released a couple of days before Hyper released the official footage of the other scenes in the official S04 preview.

I believe it's a powerful message.
