  • This Was Written about The Late Great Billy Mackenzie...Associates Singer..This is Awesome ,And a Great Tribute To Him.

  • one of my faves :)

  • A disney channel advert. On a Smiths song. I want to be sick. I don't want to live on this planet anymore...

  • I'm only 15 so the only person who knows the smiths that i know is my bro but there a really good

  • pozdro z Polski :*

  • I swear the Smiths were indie??

  • @3l3an0r7 yeah they were indie that were techically great most indie bands are not that great musically but johnny marr really knew how to play thats why no other indie band could really live up to the smiths

  • Pretty fucking awesome track in all respects, eh?

  • I'd buy the ring for Morrissey.

  • check out my cover! :)

  • One of the 100 greatest songs ever written

  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • created a culture back in the 70's 80's Air wear boots chains the words hit on troubles that come home too many , as U2 sung about the troubles at that time in Northan Island with the provisional IRA terrorists .

  • Before this song came on there was an advert for McDonalds. Mozza and Marr would be thrilled at that!!!!

  • @eddieoneil least it wernt KFC advert im sure theyre at war with the colonel!

  • Williaaaaaam. I work out to this song.

  • @ninjabunnyhardcore most ninja bunnies do i'd say.. i certainly do too, and i'm a ninja bunny

  • @willzer808 marry me today.

  • This is a "perfect pop song" if by "perfect" and "pop song" you mean totally unremarkable in every way. Not a single thing is memorable about this little ditty.

  • @Andrehippie12 Sigh.

  • @Andrehippie12 Fail... the comment you make reference to has 33 likes, yours however has 0 thus validating the fact that this is stupid and individual opinion not shared by the majority...You sir should seek medical advice and take your cock out of your dead grandmothers arse.

  • @r3gan12345 took the words right out of my mouth..!

  • @r3gan12345 I don't give a f*** if the majority agrees with me; the majority also loves such heinous music as that of Justin Bieber. If you want to prove my opinion stupid, instead of pointing to the opinions of others (or basing insults on my recently-deceased grandmother), why don't you explain why this song is so perfect?

  • @Andrehippie12 We can intellectualise it to explain why it's brilliant; as I said, see the top comment. But actually, you should be able to hear it's quality. It could be you're just not that sensitive to music (no offence). Some people aren't.

  • @Andrehippie12 You really are an idiot. The Smiths are legend. I am 12 and I know more than you.

  • @TigerAmongstMen Just because people consider them a legend doesn't make them good. If you really, truly like their music, good for you, but you shouldn't like them just because they're considered a legend. Think (and listen) for yourself, and evaluate their music on your own terms and not on others'. At any rate, I've yet to have somebody explain to me why this song is so great other than basing their ideas off of popular opinion.

  • @Andrehippie12 Well nelsano3 said it best (the top comment). The melodic structure is brilliant, the lyrics are ...well.. he said it already. Can't you hear it? Very few tracks are that clever.

  • @Andrehippie12 I was given The Smiths greatest hits by my dad a year ago, didn't really think it was my kind of music but then i left one track playing whilst i was talking to someone and i fell in love with the "Oh no" part of the song. That song was William it was really nothing. Best. Birthday present. EVER.

  • William's got to learn someday, egoism prospers, and you can only dedicate your life to yourself.

  • best chorus of all time

  • I don't dream about anyone, except myself.

  • I luv Morrissey & The Smiths XD

  • Everybody's got to live their life

and God knows I've got to live mine (c)

    so true<3

  • you dam right and what the fuck about it !!!!

  • every single video I find that allows comments, I ALWAYS see someone arguing!

  • OH THAT RAIN AFTER 1982 FALLING ON MY HEAD

  • what does any of these music mean to any of you?.When the metoer hits hipsters will by trying to work out of there having a cool moment.Mosa was part of my life and growing up in middle class hell it means alot more .

  • @joebstarsurfer What?

  • How is "The Headmaster Ritual" not on the Best of the Smiths album? I was looking at track listing of that album the other day and was shocked to see my favorite Smiths song wasn't on it. Oh well...

  • @andrewptob It's on The Sound of The Smiths which is also a good best of.

  • @andrewptob I wouldn't give a moments thought to the estimation of those compiling 'The Very Best of the Smiths' album. Not 'official official' Smithdom. compilation albums could never do the Smiths justice.

  • I like a lot this song of Morrissey-Marr because like poetry, it is cryptic but say very many things, i.e. the need of living in the way that you think in XX secle, the selfish and human self-confidence that in several cases you have to learn to survive and that possibly that this is so obvious that "It was really nothing". Sometimes I sing this song walking by the street.... Music and lyrics are PURE BEAUTY. who was T. Wilson? I am from Barcelona (Spain) and I don't know him. Saludos!!!

  • Their best single and a song that perfectly encapsulates them. We need more perfect 2 minute pop songs like this now more than ever. In fact, it always strikes me as ironic that in this lightning fast day and age where information is processed so quickly that it is considered irregular for a song to be done and dusted in under 3 minutes. Do most songs really need to go on that long? Waste of 'needle time' if you ask me ;)

  • I imagine this is what music in heaven sounds like.

  • RIP Billy Mackenzie

  • Tony Wilson was a genius x

  • I remember seeing tony wilson walking his dog beside a canal in manchester, his dog was called william, happy days.

  • @pippo452000 I miss tony wilson.

  • I miss Tony Wilson.

  • Magic...

    in just over 2 minutes...

    wow.

    TIMELESS.

  • who is that guy in the picture?

  • @svufan9 nevermind. I found him.

  • why is this the best song ever

  • LOVELY SONG

  • I love it...I love it...I literally cannot put into words how much I love this song!

  • Best British Band...

  • favourite smiths song, guitar at 0.42 is brilliant

  • song of the day!

  • Totalmente increible

  • I completely agree. This one of my all time favorites. The song is unreal

  • This is one of the best pop records of all time. Morrissey and Marr understood exactly what made pop records work and they completely nailed it here, the structure is impeccable and Morrissey's lyrics are absolutely fantastic, how can you listen to this songs words and not smirk? I cant believe they were and still continue to be ignored by mainstream radio, because believe me that is what that they were aiming for, they were masters of the 2 minute pop formula.

  • @nelsano3 Hmm... I actually think this is the greatest song of all time. It has more life in it than a Beethoven song and yet barely pipes in at over two minutes a pop.

I never tire of hearing it.

  • @owenhunt Beethoven would have LOVED this. But I agree with you it's one of the finest songs ever written ...

  • nice one

  • Superb !!

  • rad

  • chills :D

  • thanx for the clear version. amazing song!

  • No problem :)

  • Only 23 views wow :(
