Wow...I'm having flashbacks to the summer of 1982. My parents used to watch it if we happened to be home on Friday night. I don't remember much about the show, but I do remember liking the theme song and singing it in the living room.
I am so glad to see this video intro posted. Thank you for posting it. Chicago Story was ahead of its time. It was Law in Order before Law in Order. It was Boomtown before Boomtown. Basically, it was a show that was taken off the air too soon. The good news is that somewhere out there, the filmed episodes still exist.
Thank You for posting this! I was actually an extra in the opening credits throwing a football to Vince B aka Lou thats all I remember. I said Hey Lou then he dropped the ball. It's an amazing story how it came about, I saw a sign needing kid extras while wandering off in an office building and used my manners at age 11 and it just so happened they need another kid with the son of the lady I spoke with. I am now 38 and think of it from time to time what a quantam leap! Thenks again!
An awesome opening to perhaps one of the best shows that should have been given a better chance than it did. It shows that Chicago itself, besides the principal actors in the show, was the star of the show as well. A pity this show wasn't on longer.
Best all time TV themes: 1) Gavilan (short-lived series with Robert Urich), 2) Chicago Story, 3) S W A T, 4) Rockford Files, 5) St. Elsewhere.

This was my favorite show! And in my hometown of Chicago, Illinois!

I think it was more of a cross between Law & Order and Third Watch. Gotta love that Linda Clifford theme song!

Never thought I would see this again, a lot of familiar faces in that series. Love the theme song too.

trippy to see how much the skyline has changed. The old green and white "el" cars is something I had forgotten somehow

Ah yes. Why does Craig T. Nelson always end up playing the angry guy?
