Svi kritikuju Divca a za njegovu gresku direktno je kriv petrovic jer lopta nije smela da udje u igru dok on neode pod Ruski kos dali bi se to desilo Kicanovicu i Djordjevicu plus selektor nije reagovao kao da su bili osamuceni

kako sam tada psovao Divca..secam se ko juce da je bilo..more, Krasisi, Crnogorsko primorje, imao sam 15 godina, voleo sam nasu kosarkasku reprezentaciju, voleo sam Drazena i mrzeo Divca..a slicno oduzimanje od zivota nam je uradio i u finalu 2002 protiv Argentine sa onim slobodnim bacanjima..

Divcu su tada prišli Praja Dalipagić, Zoran Čutura i Franjo Arapović da ga teše a Veljko Petranović ga je otrao u tri lepe. Svi znaju ko su Praja, Čutura i Arapović a da li se neko seća Petranovića.

Dražen Dalipagić (14), Zoran Čutura (7) and franjo Arapović (13) tried to comfort Divac after the game, and Veljko Petranović (8) threw some insults to him. Everybody now remembers Dalipagić,Čutura and Arapović, no one remembers Petranović.

OK, OK, I understood now. Russians tied by 85-85 at the 2nd half. At the extra-time, russians win. Well, so bad that the rest of match isn't here, but it was a historical moment of the basketball. 9-0 in 45 seconds. Sabonis was a great player. Well done, russians!

@edyngtn2008 Right on, but careful with those "russians". Sabonis, Kurtinaitis and Homitsus were Lithuanians, Valters from Latvia, Sokk Estonian and Volkov Ukrainian. I'm not sure of Belostennyij, but Tihonenko and Tarakanov were I think the only true "ruskies" of the team.

Great moment... Actually it was Lithuanian players at the focus of this revival (Sabonis scoring the 3 point, Kurtinaitis shouting ant Homicius for a foul - incredible), but still Valters, Sokk, Belostenyy, Tikhoneko - great guys. Sorry we had to play for Soviet Union not Litvanija. And Divac & Petrovic in one team :)

We teens watched this live in Finland while having a few beers and getting ready for a night in town.... and my oh my... Being already a huge fan of Sabonis and those other Baltic players, this game is very possibly the most memorable single sporting event I've ever experienced. Also our legendary commentator who never hid his emotions anyway gave the performance of his career, by e.g, shouting at those very poor officials like no tomorrow from start to finish :D

Danas sam 1 put nakon 24 godine pogledo snimke utakmice , sjecam se jos da sam gledao utakmica sa starcima i ujakom i ujnom u Zagrebu , i da me jos uvijek boli kad vidim kako popusimo tu dobijenu utakmicu . I ja sam krivio Divca onda , ali jebiga desilo bilismo u soku , usrali se zivi , i Vlade onda 18 godina , stat ces . Derao sam se ko lud , psovao pred starcima ujakom , sve u kurcu , i tesko mi je danas gledat . Mater im jebem rusku . Tu utakmicu su preko puno godina uzimali kao primjer sta

Da, ali sustinu si pogodio. 1986 godine Divac je bi mlad igrac bez autoriteta tako da nije sviran faul nad njim, atmosfera je bila da se pomogne Rusima da nas stignu. Naravno, svakako da su oni morali ubacivati te ludacke trojke o tablu i sve zajedno, ali za istu stvar 2002 kada je Divac vec svetska zvezda na zalasku za istu stvar je sviran prekrsaj.

Medjutim, nije nas 1986 Divac zavio u crno vec je to bio pokojni selektor Cosic koji je napravio mnogo gresaka u toj zavrsnici...

...jer sta je uopste Divac trazio u igri kao mlad centar u situaciji kada samo treba sacuvati loptu nekoliko sekundi ? To sam se pitao i " jedne letnje veceri...." kada sam ovu utakmicu gledao u Krasicima i kada sam sa svojih 16 godina hteo da skocim sa terase....

I sutradan sam ceo dan buljio u jedan kamen na plazi. Secam se da je Sabonis posle utakmice izjavio da smo 39 minuta igrali kao bogovi a zadnji minut kao idioti !

Uglavnom, po meni ovo je najtragicnija utakmica ikada...

Aaaaa , uopće mi nije jasno šta je Divac radio u petorci koja je trebala samo sačuvati loptu....nezaboravna utakmica.

mrblunderfield ese juego de yugoslavia y puerto rico fue en el mundial de argentina 1990 si perdiamos por 20 vinimos de atras y ganamos 77 a 70 piculin anoto 21 puntos. No solo teniamos a Fico Lopez tambien teniamos a James Carter, George Torres, Ramond Gausse, Ramon Rivas, Edgar Leon, Papiro Leon, Tonito Colon, Piculin Ortiz. Teniamos un trabuco y tambien estabamos invictos en ese juego. Treminamos cuarto lugar en ese mundial.

Recuerdo cuando era pequeno lo grandiosa que eran ambas seleciones de Yugoslavia y la Union Sovietica. Uno de mis juegos favoritos fue cuando el quinteto de Yugoslavia con drazen Pretrovic y Vlade Divac andaban invitas y les toco jugar con Puerto Rico. En ese juego Yugoslavia le ganos la primera mitad a PR por mas de 20 puntos y Puerto Rico vino de atras para terminar ganando por mas de 20 puntos fue un juego increible y maravilloso teniamos al mejor guard de ese mundial Fico Lopez.

i dont agree with you yugoslavia was tha second best team in world basketball they always beat the soviets in finals or in semifinals. in olimpics, eurobastket, and world championships. Research the history and you will see. but they both were powerful teams and they both always won medals in any world comptition.

this match still after 23 years is turning my emotions. i was in the summer holidays in adriatic coast, and of course all of us (i am a former yu citizen) were cheering for drazen & co. but what happened in the last 90 seconds was really unbelievable. i must say that referees were bit biased and supportive towards ussr. valdis valters's last shot was not the three-pointer, because he stepped the line on. secondly, the spanish fans hated petrovic because he and cibona burried real madrid 5:0

i think it's veljko petranovic, arapovic is the guy with number 13 that hugs vlade in complete despair. what an epic game, i was just a kid and maybe that night i fell in love with basketball despite the fact i was parting for the yugos.
