You know why i hate explorers? my best friend used to have an explorer, passed through an open grate bridge at cruising speed during rain, lost control and hit a tree. luckily he is still alive, bad thing is, he was scared half to death and became a christian & doesn't party with us anymore! FVCK YOU EXPLORER! YOU TOOK MY FRIEND AWAY FROM ME!!!!!!
Here's a tip. Do NOT go near either of the vehicles once the towing has started. No, your 1 pound of torque from pushing the rear gate doesn't do anything.
@KaoskrewPB I think you should learn not to be a dumbass. Seriously he probably didn't want the strap to get caught on the tire and wrapped around the differential. Happens to me all the time on my atv.
@cbk982 ATV's are different than 4000-6000 pound vehicles. The strap was very short, there was not even a possiblity it would have wrapped around the differntial or even under the tire. And besides, your limbs are more important than a strap wrapping the diff.
Also on the this vs that I have pulled out a few jeeps and been pulled out by a few on rocks yes a jeep any day bit on sand it's more the drive than the truck
@DanHof847 It says absolutely nothing about open diffs, so the description would have been no use to me. I have the ability to lock my differentials, which can not be done on an exploder with stock axles.

Not as capable as a wrangler, of course, but She gets used and abused all winter long hauling 20 50 pound bags of salt, shovels, and a snow blower. so yes, 4x4 is really only 2 wheel drive unless if theres a locker involved somewhere...
@tadracket Haha true that. You can not appreciate 4x4 until you have driven a jeep offroad or through deep snow or on ice. When it snows here, 2WD wont get you 2 feet off the road. My jeep does well int he deep snow though. I have never gotten stuck and a 4x4 f150 got stuck in front of my house and I pulled it out with my little jeep and I was on ice and going up hill and didnt spin at all. i had my winter tires on too though lol
@chorstma44 You know something crazy though? I grew up and lived in WV the first 25 years of my life. Some friends and I went to the Scenic Highway area trout fishing one January and I took my little Datsun 280ZX. It had independent rear end and not enough power to get out of its own way, but I pushed snow with that little beast everywhere I went. I never stuck or ditched that little car in the several years I drove it. And it saw some nasty snow...

Yup this is Brigantine.... if I had a dollar for everytime I had to pull out an explorer with my Wrangler.......this is typical south end in the middle of summer it get all chewed up from all the shoobies. I was able to plow through shit like this in my fucking jeep in 2wd.... very rarely did I even have to touch my 4wd.

@smmayer98 thats because the explorer is alot heavier, plus idiots dont realize that they can't go onto sand like that on a 2WD explorer, the weight will make the tires sink like nothing.

20 bucks says the guy in the explorer didn't air down. trust me, owning an 03 explorer i know how they are in snow/sand etc. air down the standard michelin highway tires, and it;ll take you anywhere.
@VIDEOZAL Obviously you have never driven in soft sand. Also you overestimate the potential of a stock 4x4 on street tires, especially one that was never really intended to do anything more than drive on a wet road.
@Sodiumreactor I'm fishing a lot from the beach and I own a honda crv 08 with awd, it's not even a 4x4 and I never ever got stock... That's why I don't understand how it is possible to stuck with 4x4 car...
@VIDEOZAL Let me put it this way. If you drive off road, mud, sand, whatever, sooner or later you will get stuck. Someone who tells you they have been driving off road for a long time and have never been stuck is lying.
@Sodiumreactor the problem is confidence. once you do it so much you get over confident and fuck yourself. that's how it works, tractors, dirtbikes, atv's, trucks etc. same thing goes with speed.
@Watcher3223 it's so true i've done it a ton of times myself in the snow with my old cub cadet. ya it'll go anywhere, but i mean i've tried stuff that i shouldn't do, and then go back at it again, faster, harder and more careless, and i get stuck because i go too fast for the front tires to grab, slide into a drift, and get myself stuck and havet o winch out. i'm my own worst enemy.
@Mueiwark actually sir if im correct the exploder has 4wd with a limited slip differential. i think its the stupid american in the video that deserves all the credit ;-)
activate your 4x4 and put it on low range, use one hand and keep moving the steering wheel left and right, though keep the pressure on. thats how i get myself out and i use the explorer my self :D .. and oh, i use K&N 57 series and gibson exhaust myself
I was at this beach today also called "The Cove" and let me tell you that sand is no joke! My 02' Wrangler got stuck twice because New Yorkers in their Explorer stopped in the driving path making me to stop in some really deep stuff. I was laughing at this Escape infront of me until I got stuck and he didnt.
I've pulled out more Explorer's than any other SuV on the beach. Pieces of crap that don't belong on the sand no matter how much air you take out. Of course most of them are dumbasses that are running 30lbs.
The guy running up picked up the strap so the Explorer didn't run over it. That quick thinking dude saved a broken strap and possible damage to the tow points.
@99DDrake actually clearance isnt bad. it's got about 6.5 inches (my 03 does atleast) and that's to the bottom of the independent suspension arm which can easily drag through sand and snow. to the fram and the skirt its got almost 9 inches before you worry about high centering. and yes, airing down the tires and having the tow package would help because the tow package gives you a limited slip 3.55 rear end. us reg explorers have open diffs and 3.27 gears that let our V6 go 70 at 1800 rpm
@slowmotion4x4 What pressure was he running? That's really awesome that you can tell the tire pressure just from looking at the video. You're much better at this that me!
@08H3 Take a look at my videos. You will see we spend 95% of our time in sand. Most people think airing down is to 25psi or so. You need 10 psi or lower. We run 4 or 5 psi when we are out playing in sand. I run 2 wheel drive almost every where. 4 when the water holes are questionable or sand gets real soft..
you really didn't need all those people there. Jeep had no problem. It would've been even easier in 4 low with the lockers engaged. It also looks like the explorer had 4 WD (look at the right left tire at .38)
saw my yuppie brother get stuck like that in his Expedition. It wasn't till his wife pointed out that the thing had 4WD that he got out. He didn't even know it was 4WD. I laughed my ass off!
I had to pull my friends jeep out of the sand twice one day with my 454 powered 86 s10 blazer and a ford pickup that also got stuck. Thought that it would have been me needing all the help with only a 3 inch body lift and 31s. =P
i got a 1989 s-10 4x4 short bed pick up on 31's with 4in of susp lift with a 350 v8 swap and i always have to pull out my freinds wow you put i 454 in your truck man that trucks got to be a power house i no with the 350 in my truck is but with a 454 thats one bad ass truck us s-10 guys got to stick togeter lol
took me awhile to do it. mostly on the header that i did for the driverside so that i would not have to move the steering shaft over a inch and a half. makes the 350 4 bolt i had in it before easy by a long shot
yeah i bet the 350 swap is easy i did mine in a week thatsone cool truck i love early s-10my favortie part of have my truck is showing the full size trucks that my little s-10 can keep up with them on the trail and on the road i plow snow with with my truck and just work the shit out of it and its one tuff truck you no frist hand you got one
@wrsawy i dont know if your a little blind or something, but are you not seeing that rear wheel? that almost (or its) at the stock suspensions max flex
ahah good thing about growing up on the beach, you learn how to drive on it, so this doesnt happen, tourist season is hilarious, cars, trucks, vans, suv's, jeeps, stuck everywehere ahahha
Awesome. Try second or third next time to pull, you get a bit more inertia. If you want the lockers you can try the locker mod so you can control them with just the switch and not have to be in low range.
Why is the women not in the kitchen.

@KingofComputing
"i'm my own worst enemy"
Definitely. Every one of us has a worst enemy and to see it, all we have to do is look in the mirror.

I really don't get Americans.. Making large heavy cars with offroad capabilities..WITHOUT 4x4!
Mueiwark 1 year ago
@Mueiwark actually sir if im correct the exploder has 4wd with a limited slip differential. i think its the stupid american in the video that deserves all the credit ;-)
NETRAracer4636 1 year ago
@NETRAracer4636 I stand corrected.
Mueiwark 1 year ago
activate your 4x4 and put it on low range, use one hand and keep moving the steering wheel left and right, though keep the pressure on. thats how i get myself out and i use the explorer my self :D .. and oh, i use K&N 57 series and gibson exhaust myself

SmokenAces88 1 year ago
looks like island beach
Fuscoooo 1 year ago
I've pulled out more Explorer's than any other SuV on the beach. Pieces of crap that don't belong on the sand no matter how much air you take out. Of course most of them are dumbasses that are running 30lbs.
obxfshr 1 year ago
Very clever not to let the car stop. This guy at 0:44 did it very well

its funny how everyone always asked a jeep for help:)

it,s hard to walk on that sand

This is why you don't drive a barge like an Exploder on sand. OIIIIIIIO:)

The guy running up picked up the strap so the Explorer didn't run over it. That quick thinking dude saved a broken strap and possible damage to the tow points.

people thin 4x4 means they can drive thru any thing and this is a example!
bk32591 2 years ago 11
True ,, you can't go anywhere
jordan6500 2 years ago
Let me rephrase that: "People with 4x4s think they can drive through anything but this video proves otherwise".
SeanBuehler 1 year ago
@bk32591 Bet you the Expedition/Explorer Driver Did Not Air Down His Tires, not mention how low of clearance those vehicles have.
99DDrake 8 months ago
@99DDrake actually clearance isnt bad. it's got about 6.5 inches (my 03 does atleast) and that's to the bottom of the independent suspension arm which can easily drag through sand and snow. to the fram and the skirt its got almost 9 inches before you worry about high centering. and yes, airing down the tires and having the tow package would help because the tow package gives you a limited slip 3.55 rear end. us reg explorers have open diffs and 3.27 gears that let our V6 go 70 at 1800 rpm

slowmotion4x4 2 years ago 17
@slowmotion4x4 What pressure was he running? That's really awesome that you can tell the tire pressure just from looking at the video. You're much better at this that me!
08H3 1 year ago
@08H3 Take a look at my videos. You will see we spend 95% of our time in sand. Most people think airing down is to 25psi or so. You need 10 psi or lower. We run 4 or 5 psi when we are out playing in sand. I run 2 wheel drive almost every where. 4 when the water holes are questionable or sand gets real soft..
slowmotion4x4 1 year ago
@slowmotion4x4 That's cool....like I said if you can tell what he's running from a video you're pretty good.
08H3 1 year ago
@slowmotion4x4 Maybe if he would have aired down first, After your stuck its pointless, Hes / Shes bottomed out
badmunkie513 1 year ago
you really didn't need all those people there. Jeep had no problem. It would've been even easier in 4 low with the lockers engaged. It also looks like the explorer had 4 WD (look at the right left tire at .38)
Kevindavis08 2 years ago
hahaha... fyi, it is called 4wd, get some.
successunlmtd 2 years ago
saw my yuppie brother get stuck like that in his Expedition. It wasn't till his wife pointed out that the thing had 4WD that he got out. He didn't even know it was 4WD. I laughed my ass off!
MrExspert 2 years ago 4
And this is the reason I own a Jeep. It goes anywhere and pulls people with on road only SUV's out of stupid locations.
wildbill23c 2 years ago
Yep, did the same thing for a Subaru at Ft. Stevens. I could smell his engine from far away. Well, it's simple - Rubicons rule!!!

Power has nothing to do with it. Its all about traction and ground clearance.

This is Oceano Dunes, located near Pismo Beach, CA. I spend my free time watching folks get stuck out here. It is cheap fun.

I had to pull my friends jeep out of the sand twice one day with my 454 powered 86 s10 blazer and a ford pickup that also got stuck. Thought that it would have been me needing all the help with only a 3 inch body lift and 31s. =P
hispeed1985 2 years ago
i got a 1989 s-10 4x4 short bed pick up on 31's with 4in of susp lift with a 350 v8 swap and i always have to pull out my freinds wow you put i 454 in your truck man that trucks got to be a power house i no with the 350 in my truck is but with a 454 thats one bad ass truck us s-10 guys got to stick togeter lol
gitrdoneon31s 2 years ago
took me awhile to do it. mostly on the header that i did for the driverside so that i would not have to move the steering shaft over a inch and a half. makes the 350 4 bolt i had in it before easy by a long shot
hispeed1985 2 years ago
yeah i bet the 350 swap is easy i did mine in a week thatsone cool truck i love early s-10my favortie part of have my truck is showing the full size trucks that my little s-10 can keep up with them on the trail and on the road i plow snow with with my truck and just work the shit out of it and its one tuff truck you no frist hand you got one
gitrdoneon31s 2 years ago
I have a red Jeep just like that one (non Rubicon) and pulled out a loaded exploder just like that one with a yellow strap.
Awesome video except for the guy running up at the end. That was pretty dangerous.

either the fords tires arent flat enough or he is just unlucky, either way at least hes out
felony1175 3 years ago
Awesome. Try second or third next time to pull, you get a bit more inertia. If you want the lockers you can try the locker mod so you can control them with just the switch and not have to be in low range.
