I want to buy a M66/2 generator with the lampost, and connect it to my D36 Steamroller.

To produce light, must the engine run fast ?

Or does it work also with slower speeds.?

@8976010 Thank you for the comment! Yes, the engine needs to run fast. And I think the pulley on the D36 will be to small. You should try the pulley from the D409 steam tractor, it's available as a spare part. Then it will surely work :)

I knew that the generator could be also used the other way around but never thought it was strong enough to provide enough power to move the steam engine.

@Robertosala1 Thank you for your comment! I have also made a workshop with another M66 generator (the old green one), it can even run such a load! You could try it with the D141, that would be great :)

@williamdargie06 Yes, indeed! But then I would have to mount the engine stationary or otherwise it wouldn't be very practical.

Sehr schöne D24el! Den Dynamo als Elektroantrieb zu verwenden ist eine gute Idee. Praktisch könnte man ihn ja nach meiner Meinung als Starter verwenden.

@dampfr1000 Wäre auf jeden Falle eine gute Idee, rentiert sich aber meiner Meinung nach nur wenn man die Maschine andauernd auf einer Platte montiert hat, dann könnte man noch einen Schalter dran montieren ;)
