Lost Horizon needs a new singer, this is one of the few guys I think could actually fit in with their music. He doesn't quite have the range Daniel Heiman has, but he has a great voice. Lost Horizon should grab Jan Thore Grefstad, Urban Breed, or get Daniel back when his album with Lavett flops.
Actually far better choice would be Swedish Power singer Ronny Hemlin whose timbre color is somehow similar to Heiman's and also very powerful in terms of resonance. Jan is great vocalist and one from my personal favorites list, but to be real his own pitch strength is far more lighter to support LH material which is somehow made for Heiman only.
Listen to the song Demon Of Damnation - absolute blast of the song, mix of power ballad and epic journey which shows Jan's vocal versatility.
@HeimanChords I don't see where I disrespected his opinion, didn't say anything about the ones he mentioned, just that he should add one who just can't be excluded when it comes to metal vocalist :P
@HeimanChords I don't see where I disrespected his opinion, didn't say anything about the ones he mentioned, just that he should add one who just can't be excluded when it comes to metal vocalists :P
@MetalJuggler Well... it depends really.. Style, power, techniques, personal opinion and so on. I don't include growlers in my list of course. But to me (even though I found helloween when I was 11 and have loved the voice of Kiske ever since) heiman and rue are really just in a class of their own. Live performances of pagan's mind is never below awesome, and heiman, let's just say he's my personal hero xD
@MetalJuggler True. I must say I have had a pretty good voice. Could sing most things heiman did.. But years of not singing at all, and nose problems have really screwed me over, sadly. I might come back to it though. =)
@lordabomity Wow, bro take some ground beneath, the statements in the form "I could sing like xy" just make you look and present as less credible and funny in the same time. To sing like Heiman requires a lot more than subjective feel of I can and I did it, believe me when I took my ego under control, then lights started to shine and that's when I started improving my skills more and more. Just practice and have faith, be yourself and don't be satisfied with just 'particles of food'.
@lordabomity In my own and probably your own country they're creating those false, generic, illusional 'Talent' shows. In small time I spent on that garbage watching over YT I was absolutely amazed & shocked how people can blind themselves from objectivity and in the same time not be able to hear and then believe how bad they truly are. And most of them make majority! So the point is that everyone can talk the talk, few can walk the walk!
@HeimanChords Haha, so you're basically saying that you don't believe I can sing for shit, and that I'm just saying that to be cool or something is that it? Lucky then that I'm not that kind of overconfident pathetic attention seeker that feels I need to prove myself to some dude on the net ;) I know my good and bad sides, what you know and not makes no difference to me. But yeah, I cant stand people who cant hear how bad they are either.
@lordabomity Now , take some time to carefully read my statements and you'll conclude that your own uncontrolled ego told you so, I gave you a good advice and usable suggestion, nothing more, everything I said was objective without personal implications except I quoted line most sheeps(again I'm not implying specifically) use when they deceive themselves. Btw, too bad that Jan didn't win the route to finals, I hope this attention will bring some future for SD.
There is a more to singing than just singing high a lot. I can hit all those notes and I notice in SD he sings smoother rather than trying so hard like in Highland Glory but he's great in both bands.
I agree that it is important. At first, I misassumed you ment that you said he doesn't sing as good in Saint Deamon as in Highland Glory but now I see that's not what you ment. Thats cool you can sing those notes. I write metal songs and I'm not confident enough to lay my vocals down (due to my main role as guitarist). If you'd like, you can sing on them if you think you are good enough.
I've always been very fond of metal music so 12 years ago I decided to start playing guitar... Together with the guitar I like singing so I started practising it too... As regards your metal song it'd be interesting if I can have a look at... You know, I write metal songs in midi with Guitar Pro...
@Mandilore no. i didn't comehere just to talk shit. i come here and see you being a faggot and saying "oohhh i can do all this it's nothing special lololol" ever heard of being humble mother fucker?
@foottothenuts Jan Thore Grefstad is actually one of my favorite vocalists and how are you going to ask ME to be humble? You need to practice what you preach first of all and also everything wasn't done out of disrespect towards him. I only made the point that I can hit the notes, that was it.
@foottothenuts I do see myself as special in any form. I don't think I'm better than everyone because every vocalist has their own way of singing and of course (and I HATE saying this because no matter how much it is true, people still think I'm making excuses) mic quality does affect the quality of the sound. Judging by your name"foottothenuts", sounds like you are a negative being. So, believe what you wish, I'm done speaking with you.
@Mandilore Not want to act like an ass or anything but you say you can reach these notes, prove it? I mean, all of us can say we can do it but as long as there's no proof for it, it's not really believable right?
Grefstad sounds exactly like Heiman in many of those clips, incredible vocals.
