I cant believe how bad this commentator is, the car was not 'launching' it was actually doing a burnout to warm up the tyres, during the burnout the throttle has obviously stuck open. you dont see them lining up on the 'lighting tree' waiting for the green light.

@tenfiveracer couple of problems with what you said, one, I think it was unconsious pretty early on in the run. Obviously unable to just "put the dam thing into neutral if throttle hangs. And if he wasn't completely knocked out he was probably pretty fuzzy and just hanging on for dear life. When the shit hits the fan what seems simple to a spectator can be quite an ordeal to a drive. I assume he had a chute, never deployed, either out out out of it. either way, not his fault. no offence intended

Pretty clear to me, the "announcer" wasn't at the event. He's just commentating on the video as though he was, but has no clue what really happened.

Looks like it got away from the driver on the burnout, and he decided to just run it out. Bent car pulled him over the centerline, cone took out the steering and that's all she wrote.
