If you mean intellectual as in engineering fanatic than that would be either: bugatti or mclaren (by far the most brilliant engineering feats), but if you mean intellectual as in financial or pragmatic than that would be: Mazda RX, toyota supra, nissan skyline (delivers good performance, practical, fuel economic, and costs up to 10-20 times less than most of the brands you mentioned. Clarkson likes only British car. Ok Aston Martin has made the most beautiful cars in the world but on a track, they just suck. Those car are just right to have fun on the Highway.
v12 vantage may accelerate faster than a dbs in 0-60 but in quater mile times the best times ive seen for the v12 vantage is 12.5 seconds at 117 mph and the best ive seen for the dbs is 12.3 seconds at 118 mph but i dont know about the overall handling they should send the v12 vantage to the test track and we'll see which one's faster around the track

@pokesfan92 actually i found out in the road and track magazine the top speed of the v12 vantage is limited. itll probably do at least almost 200 mph more like 197 mph or more possibly without the limiter

N because it's a v6 not v12 it has better fuel economy

@justicx99 ya thats the thing 420 hp v8 does 180 mph now the v8 vantage s has 10 more hp and 15 more lbs foot of torque and not much weight has been taken out and results of performance are pretty damn close to the v12 vantage like the v8 vantage s does 189 mph with only 10 more hp than the standard model and only 15 more lbs of torque and little weight taken away and the performance of the v12 vantage arent that much of a difference with an extra 90 hp vs 10 more hp than the standard like WTF

question did they limit the top speed of the dbs and the v12 vantage cause the 40 less horspower and the heavier db9 does 190 mph like it doesnt make sense that more powerful and lighter cars still have the same top speed so if anyone knows for sure tell me

@carsmything302 well it about the gear ratio, if you make the gear ratio shorter it will have a smaller top speed so if you have a long gear ratio it will take alot long to reach let say 100mph than if the gear ratio is short

@justicx99 hey u want to do know wats also outragious the 380 hp v8 vantage does 0-60 in 4.9 or 4.7 seconds top speed is 186 mph u know for all i know its probably 188 mph and thats not that far behind the v12 vantage and the aston v8 vantage s now has only 430 hp and 361 lbs of torque and does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and quater mile 12.7 seconds only .2 seconds slower than the v12 vantage and top speed is 189 mph and for all i know if the stick 510 ph in the rapid itll create another 190 mph car

@carsmything302 well the old v8 vantage got 380 but now it got 420bhp and the vantage s is only have 10 more than the normal vantage which isnt much at all but the vantage s got a better gear box it shift pretty fast that why it get to 60 in 4.3 but the v12 is a manual it isnt as fast to shift but with a v12 510bhp and get to 60 in 4sec is abit slow i agree... well i think it because aston havnt update the v12 since it came out, like let say a porsche gt3 they update it almost every year..

haha ya v12 vantage may accelerate faster the a dbs but in the 1/4 mile the dbs beats the v12 vantage by 2 or 1 tenth of a second and the dbs will do 191 mph while the v12 vantage does 190 mph and that may not seem like much of a difference but according to top gear the dbs beat the v12 vantage around the test track by about 2 1/2 seconds i like the v12 vantage id buy it anyday but im just saying point all the facts like dont just say the v12 vantage can accelerate faster than the dbs

2.9 seconds slower than a DBS and only 0.3 of a second faster than a DB9 on the Top Gear track! Its track time was 1:26.8. DBS 1:23.9, DB9 1:27.1
I have heard a 4.3 Vantage has matched the DB9 time! Makes you wonder what all the extra hp and cylinders are for doesn't it! That big V12 lump must slow it down in the corners!

First, anything British is excellent. Second, anything from Europe is good. Lastly, anything not from either is junk. Aston Martin is nothing extra ordinary. Aston Martin is by no means a better master piece than Porsche, Maserati, Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Lexus, etc. It is just a car. I used to like Aston Martin but biased reviews like these are making me hate it. I wanted to hear professionalism not opinion.

Clarkson likes only British car. Ok Aston Martin has made the most beautiful cars in the world but on a track, they just suck. Those car are just right to have fun on the Highway.

v12 vantage may accelerate faster than a dbs in 0-60 but in quater mile times the best times ive seen for the v12 vantage is 12.5 seconds at 117 mph and the best ive seen for the dbs is 12.3 seconds at 118 mph but i dont know about the overall handling they should send the v12 vantage to the test track and we'll see which one's faster around the track
