Now I'll have to look up the original lyrics. Your version is fun.
Scotland has had the banjo for nearly 150 years now. I'm glad the greatest Scottish melody is so well represented on the old 5 string. I feel inspired. My hat to the Canadian who played so well.
Canadian Banjo? I know that we in the states tend to think we invented everything, but I think this is a little over the top. African or US-ok, but Canadian??? This isn't like arguing who's computer was the first real computer, this is like saying crepes came from New Zealand.
He plays very well and can definitely be proud of it! I was looking for Scotland the Brave and was surprised to find it on banjo. I'm not sure if you know it (although I guess you probably do), bluegrass and old time music have their roots in Scottish music and settlers. The ballad of Barbara Allen was actually being sung in Appalachia 200 years after coming over from Scotland.I'm getting long winded, sorry , but I've just heard a lot of banjo when I was younger and this is fun to listen to.
@AyeWeCan Ian made in Hong Kong. He may like chinese food, but I think he is proud of his American (OOPS!!), Canadian heritage. LOL. Ian is a great guy; he'll know I am joking =) Shuggy
Love it... *big cheesy grin!*
