Really nice footage. I served on board during Vietnam from 1966 - 1969. We had some of the same aircraft and I remember those underway replenishments for supply & fuel. Brings back many memories. Thanks for posting it...
WOW!!! My father , Jim Finley, was on the Hancock from 1957-1959. Sadly, he passed away many years ago. I sure would have loved to show him this footage. Thanks for posting it---what a treasure!!!!
You are very lucky to have this footage. This video is a real find for ship enthusiasts. Great music. I love seeing the USS HALSEY POWELL (DD-686) (9 battle stars), USS MARSHALL (DD-676 12 battle stars), USS SHELTON (DD-790 16 battle stars) and that cruiser, which I believe to be a Baltimore class heavy (last of the all big gun cruisers). A cornucopia of aircraft; Crusaders, Cutlasses, Destroyers, early helosThanks so much for posting this, I wish it were mine!
I was Mar Det 1974-1975 on the Handjob...otherwise known as the Rustbucket Maru...
