There is one thing about Dream Theater that really amazes me. Many other metal bands will write songs, then write solos and make them fit into the song. Or they´ll take the songs theme and then try to do fancy stuff with it but DT is different.

Their solos are virtuosic and sometimes they my differ from the theme quite a lot BUT they come so naturally. It is as if they were just ment to be in these songs and they make them complete. Gotta admire this band, I definitely need to listen to their music more often.

I'm still wrapping my head around this video, but my interpretation is that the woman isn't a ghost or a vampire, but some sort of higher spirit, like a succubus. Now when I say succubus I'm not talking the 'christian' version of what a succubus is, more the Pagan/occultist/real version. (Christianity's take on succubi and other such spirits is only propaganda, there's no such thing as 'evil demons from hell') When she bites him, she is freeing his soul from his body to fly away with her.

The hellish nature of the man's original position and the 'ship' at the end contrast very heavily with the beauty and very clear love between the two characters after he 'breaks loose' of his body. When she bites him his body 'cracks', and afterwards she stops being ghostly. At this point, both of them have glowing red eyes...
