Yesterday i turned my speakers to full and played the song lateralus, i sang along to it with my eyes closed the whole time, I started crying halfway through due to the immense amount of beauty and realization that was hitting me through the lyrics and the music, i think felt some sort of pressence, it was the most amazing experiance that i'd ever had, no matter if the pressence was extraterrestrial, or anything at all, thats besides the point, Maynard is amazing, nad has changed me forever.

Ok, found this out, what you need to do is this. Play "Viginti Tres" and "Wings for Marie [Pt, 1]" together, then play those two together whilst playing 10,000 days [Pt, 2], it is epic! Weird, it is in sync perfectly with all words surpassing each other perfectly, Maynard new what he was doing, but Tool wont emit this.. i think the three tracks together are called "Voltron". I did this by using Ableton, and putting each track in three audio lanes. then pressed play then.. i believe i passed out.

Last year my mother was diagnosed with RSD after tripping and messing her foot up. She is a single mother who has never needed help with anything and raised me in an amazing home. People, yes.. this songs subject is the death his mother. But what this song speaks about is the ascension of her spirit. Maynard is a person of high spiritual consciousness and therefore even though he speaks of something we can say is a "everyday" subject, the loss of our loved ones, he points out to the divine, to the awakened view of the Spirit . He cleverly hid, and at the same time has shown, his view on life and after-life simply by speaking of it directly. We choose what we are aware of.

I seen them live in july of 06 in albany, at the very part where he said your going home. I started to cry. It was beautiful. I have never cried at any concert before, therefore I don't even label Tool shows as concerts, but rather a dream that heals some of the soul.

I think you got some lyrics wrong. They both sound right but these sound better to the context and to the ear.

People, yes.. this songs subject is the death his mother. But what this song speaks about is the ascension of her spirit. Maynard is a person of high spiritual consciousness and therefore even though he speaks of something we can say is a "everyday" subject, the loss of our loved ones, he points out to the divine, to the awakened view of the Spirit . He cleverly hid, and at the same time has shown, his view on life and after-life simply by speaking of it directly. We choose what we are aware of.

I seen them live in july of 06 in albany, at the very part where he said your going home. I started to cry. It was beautiful. I have never cried at any concert before, therefore I don't even label Tool shows as concerts, but rather a dream that heals some of the soul.

Incase anyone doesn't know: The song is about Judith marie, Maynards mother, who suffered a stroke and was restricted to a wheelchair until she died. It was about 27 years (10,000 days), and was a devout Christian throughout, the song "judith" by A perfect circle is about her too, saying how though God did that to her (unjustly he says) she was faithful throughout, "praying never straying...) and his vinyard is named after her.

Its a little harsh but it shows how he cant understand for the life of him why even though God allowed her to be paralyzed by stroke she still had rock solid faith. I know God knew he would have issues with him and some day he will be able to break his heart and Maynard will, through his mothers faith find the light!

That woman was a light for him, and he saw that light. he has the contrite heart to even say the things he said.He has faith. It is the fact that he can see faith. Many are in darkness, and see not the light. Maynard did see the light emanating from his mothers heart. In seeing the light the light it entered Mansards heart as well.

@kobidobidog your interpretation is completely correct..its pretty obvious even through studying Tool's lyrics that as time has progressed his faith and acceptance of God has grown into a positive stance rather than a hateful disbelief, which is what his early days exemplified. I have always been a little on the fence when it comes to God, I went to Catholic school..the "light" as you say or "signs" I have never clearly seen..or had a connection with God, some saying they have before, : \ not me
