  • This was hilarious. I could even read the expresion on the wren's face when trespassing the first obstacle (the BB male), and then waiting and even knowing she already screwed it up and her ass was about to be kicked out of the box by the BB female!!

  • Wrens are infamous for piercing eggs in nests and flying away with them so they can take over the box. Lost 5 BB eggs 2 years ago to a wren. Now I put cardboard "awnings" over the hole once the first egg has been laid so that the BB is bonded to the nest and will still go in the box with the flap.

  • No, the Carolina Wren never did have a nest here. I've had the Car. Wrens nest in other boxes in the yard but none close.

  • Maybe the Carolina wren previously had a nest in this spot and was "freaked out" by a BB laying eggs in his/her territory.

    Any ideas?

  • Great video...thanks for posting. I have Carolina Wrens in my garage and Bluebirds in my BB houses. I've seen a Titmouse peek in at the BBs, but never a Wren.
