I'll have to try one in person, but this looks really promising. I would prefer something hand wired, but that's a nice price point. I suppose with the trem circuit a hand wired version would cost more than a tweed Deluxe clone.

Ah Fender! There is a ton of interest in old Ampeg and Supro's from the 40's and 50's.. (The Ampeg Jet has an accordian input -I have a 1959) - Really hard to beat $400 or less with a 15 inch speaker - What this amp has sounds like old Ampeg Grit -- Un Fender and yet very cool a ABY for my 57 Vibrolux!

That bright setting on the Excelsior sounded interesting. Shame he demoed it very little, because I think it could be the main selling point of the amp. The tremolo sounded pretty nice as well, but again, very quick demo of it. If the price is great over here as well, I think I'll take a look simply for noodling at home.

Unlike most guitar equipment presenters who do nothing but jerk off their guitars and show off with dumb licks and 2 minute long solos, this guy does an amazing job presenting the amp and all the sounds. Kudos to him.

$299 for the Excelsior at most US online retailers. Pretty damned good for an all valve combo. Seems pretty versatile with all its inputs and switches. I can't wait to try one, I bet it's a great blues and country amp.

That Excelsior sounded pretty nondescript until the bright switch kicked in. I'm certainly looking forward to kicking out some wierd-ass '50s country on it.

That, the lush trem and the price have pretty much sold me.

I can't say I'm that impressed with the sound of any of these, which is a damn shame because I love the design and the features. Fender's finally doing something more original, rather than just recycling the same old sunburst strats and generic amps.
