  • Welll, it was great to see a levelheaded, well thought out review of this movie. Honestly, I'm a die-hard TGWTG fan and have been for almost as long as the website's been around. (For those of you who get this reference: I discovered it shortly after ThatDudeintheSuede released his first few videos.) So, I was heavily biased going into Kickassia, and, being that I got 99% of the inside jokes, it was hard for me to complain. I do actually think Suburban Knights was better, though.

  • Wow everything you say is exactly right. Still liked it anyways though. WAY better than Suburban Knights, thats for sure

  • I remember finding that site back in Fall of '08. I enjoyed it for a while. By July of 2009, I noticed that the majority of the people on the site were recycling the same jokes over and over. Then Kickassia came out. I was disappointed in the "film" they made. I stopped watching the site ever since, until I heard about Suburban Knights. My god, that was the definition of atrocious. Not even Brad Jones, that last glimpse of hope on that site could save it.

  • You do Realise this film is supposed to not make sense, that's like criticising the Naked Gun movies for being too "Zany". Also with all the people they had, if they had given them all equal time, this movie would be about 10 hours long, in fact i'm surprised they got as much development as they did (Especially with The Cinema Snob, who's my favorite reviewer) So this review while well done falls on most of its point.

  • The Nostagia Critic makes me laugh. And I laughed at some moments in Kickassia. And I personally thought your review was very good. You give it enough praise and point out the flaws which bothered me too. I admire the work that was put into it but nothing really more.

  • I think I am the only person who likes Kickassia

  • @redhoodx98

    I liked it.

  • @redhoodx98 I loved every second of it. And apart from NC I never new who anyone was until this.

  • they made a prety bad movie for ppl that talk a holl lot of shit about other movies

  • Are you MikeJ with a slightly altered voice? No one else would think his presence would make anything better

  • Finally, someone who's actually reviewing it properly and not outright saying "it sucks cos the Critic sucks". I seriously don't get why he has such a large hate-base.

I became a fan of the Critic in 2009, round about the time the movie came out, and Kickassia was one of the first things I watched. I found it funny. Granted, I didn't get half the in jokes, but it was still funny. Now, looking back and actually getting most of the references, Kickassia is funnier than ever.

  • Dude, just have a good time

  • The film is a gift to the fans. Just like their videos are a tribute to the past, the film is a tribute to all their clichés and punch-lines.

Also, if you where to make a 90 minute comedy in under a week, with 15 other people who would all have to get enough screen-time, would you be able to come up with much better?

  • i liked that santa christ scene

  • When will he be doing th3e 3 year anniversary? I wish I could buy the DVD of Kickassia, but my mom would get suspicious just by looking at the title.

  • well doug walker owns the website, rented out the hotel for the actors/reviewers, got everyone down to rio, wrote the film, editied and directed it so yeah i'd say it is all about him considering its his website

  • I always thought it was quite bad, but fun in parts. I didn't really watch it to watch the whole thing, I watched it to see how my favourite reviewers took part. Cinema Snob explaining the flag design was my favourite moment and there were a few others like Insano screaming into the stethoscope and some of Joe's roles.

Did you see the "Epic Brawl"? I reckon that one was better.

  • Its much better than Avatar though... and... ITS A F*CKING COMEDY YOU ASS!!!

  • @TheIVGamer

Did any of my problems even have anything to do with the fact it's a comedy?

  • Founder of the Soldiers of Kickassia here, and while I wasn't too sure about this upon first clicking on it, I have to say well done, and very constructive. While Kickassia was a definite improvement on last year's brawl, I feel there were still some squandered opportunities. Here's to hoping Year 3 blows Kickassia out of the water.

  • @DodgerOfZion

My money is on a documetary called "Behind The Glasses".

  • i think the issue with the cover is that it is still sponny inside dr insano and sponny was a main focus in the film

  • Wait no i LOVED it

  • Rob would often co-write with Doug. I wonder why he didn't write this movie with him.

  • I saw it & I thought that I was missing the enjoyment of The "Melvin" sketch!

  • Dear light vs darkness the movie is a little odd and all over the place but like you said it was made for the viewers of that guy with the glasses of which there are many and their not experienced actors but I think this movie was just made for the fun of it it's not supposed to be serious its just supposed to be fun

  • @bagman4896 i agree with you, i knew it was suppose to be a fun movie i mean how can someone take somethings as this that seriously, people need to think about this, it's movie and games and comic book reviewers invading a small nation bassicaly they are normal people invading a nation and not giant super heroes, i loved it i had fun with it and that's all that matters

  • It's the worst movie of all time. I do own a DVD copy of Plan 9 from outer space...

  • I can't believe I actually sat through the whole thing. I was embarrassed even watching it...

  • @videogamenostalgia

You mean the movie or my review?

  • @LightVSDarkness64 The movie.

  • thats a shitty movie they made -_-

they review shitty movies so what do you expect

  • the room was also written and directed by one guy.

  • @thor55121478 Ed Wood's productions were also rushed. These aren't valid excuses.

  • 1: its an independent movie that is trying to be bad. 2: these characters had already existed before the filming of this, with their own review shows and everything. 3: ITS A FUCKING COMEDY! Enjoy it! Theyre making fun of all these cliches in bad movies!

  • @3afterPM

    1. It wasn't trying to be "bad". It was trying to be satirical.

    2. If someone who wasn't aware of these characters watched this they wouldn't get most of the jokes, plot points and character moments.

    3. I did enjoy it.

  • @LightVSDarkness64 First they had more then one camera, its in the behind the scenes, also the only people who would watch it are those who liked those characters, also the characters are easy to follow.

  • Dude, you should have not watched this film BECAUSE all their actors are being sarcastic. Also, you probably should watch the Nostalgic Critic- Lee`s still playing- Spoony`s experiment- maybe the other reviewers. And their is a lot of refrences.

  • @code0943

Just because it's sarcastic doesn't automatically exempt it from flaws.

  • @LightVSDarkness64 point taken, but still feels a bit...like a guilty pleasure!

  • @code0943

I do enjoy this movie as a guilty pleasure, I just wanted to judge the "film" seriously because hardly anyone has done and would do that.

  • @LightVSDarkness64 ok! Your really cool, you know that?

  • @code0943

Yes I do know that. Care to subscribe and spread the coolness?

  • You did not just use Avatar as an 'epic' film did you.

  • @Tseuhadon why not? I know at least a few thousand people who would agree with him just as I do a few other thousand who wouldn't.

  • @Arthus850 It is an abomination. Pure and simple. There is nothing original in it. It's messages are openly insulting to anyone with a thinking brain and I was astounded at the sheer level of plagiarism within it. It was sickening, wrong and the utmost example of everything which is bad about hollywood.

It actually had me missing watching Transformers 2 before the first act was over for crying out loud.

  • @Tseuhadon that's your opinion and I respect that. but you can't just go around saying that those who like them don't have brains. and plus this isn't the first time the story it used was remade. there were so many movies that use that concept like the last samurai for example. and I personally liked TF2 mostly because I didn't expect much from it

  • Hold on... if you add up all computer cop movies, you get about an hour or so of movie, .... oh yeah, totaly I want you to review Computer Cop.

  • @shedininja001

    Gimmy time.

  • Mathuew i think blew me away, but other then that I agree with your review.

  • @shedininja001

    Blew you away?

  • @LightVSDarkness64 And Rob (Doug`s bro) wrote this....so yaaaaa

you shouldnt review this film man, god.
