America is suppose to be a place for all faiths and all walks of life. The first amendment clearly states that our leaders are not to show favoritism to one religion, nor make it the main religion of our country. But that's what this country does everyday by letting religious people (christians for example) have a say so in our bodies, our personal lives and our spiritual beliefs. Keeping gays from getting married is forcing your religious views on us!
Pretty darn selfish to be against someone else's marriage. Its shouldn't be up to the government or other people. It's between the two people in love. Gay marriage won't ruin yours, it just makes those people feel insecure. Obviously they feel bad about their own marriages that they want others to feel just the same. LOVE is LOVE and its the most powerful thing in the world.
@PriestChristopher Yes I know. It is horrible what people are going through. I know. All I can say is that Christ is real, and He healed me. I could not do it myself. That's it. for all reading this, if you are not a happy gay, KNOW that you can be healed. If you need encouragement, you may visit ilivestraight website.
@sinisbal No one who us unhappy being gay will be gay. The only time gay people are unhappy with their life is if society makes them outcasts and makes them ashamed of who they are. You can live straight all you want, but that doesn't mean you are. Forcing yourself the be something you're not is the real unhappiness in life. Anyone who is reading this who is gay, know that you're not unnatural, evil or disgusting, don't hate your humanity it only leads to destruction. Be yourself and enjoy life.
@sinisbal I say this with respect, homosexuality is nothing to be ashamed of, nor is a disease to be cured. It is apart of someone, not who they are. People should be able to love who they love with out looking over their shoulder wondering if they will be the victim of a hate crime, or being fired from work, or loosing their loved ones b/c they "don't agree." ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We are tired of being treated as inhuman.
@MidnightMoonStruck I agree that homosexuality is not who people are. I agree that no one should live in fear. If I didn't love gay people, it would be the same as not loving one part of myself-my past. And I needed full and complete love. Every person living should be given the choice and freedom for him/her self. And one choosing gay, another straight, does not make them better or worse. I must testify, though, for Jesus, and I must testify that for me homosexuality (cont.)
@MidnightMoonStruck And why I commented here against gay marriage? Because of my personal experience when living under the sin- it blocks your mind, it kills everything noble and good in a person. No matter how good I wanted to be and do, I could not do it-eventually the twisted mind that I had always came up to the surface. Knowing that, and thinking that 2 gay people functioning in a similar fashion would now create the new rules of life-that is scary, knowing what's behind
@sinisbal No you commented against gay marriage because of your hatred for gays and possible hatred for yourself. Your bible is irrelevant to our government. All your talk in regards to it is pure belief, not fact. There is no legal argument valid against gay marriage. There are scores of gay people who are good people and have created very productive and successful lives for themselves. You are speaking one fallacy after another. Your claims cannot stand in the face of science and psychology.
@PriestChristopher Ah, OK. Let it be to you as you want. It does not change a single word of my testimony. You chose for yourself and I chose for my self so it means we are both right. This is only the proof that homosexuality is a choice. No reason to hate each other as I surely don't hate you. I love my whole self, which includes my past, when I was gay. So you gay or not, I accept you as you are. I wish you only the best. Goodbye.
@sinisbal How is sexuality a choice? I would like you to tell me when I chose my sexuality, what time of day it was, how old I was and where I was during the time. Because I sure as hell never chose it. So maybe if you can tell me when, then I will know that it was. But for now, you have no idea. The ACT is a choice, the feelings are NOT. Was gay? Sometimes people do certain sexual acts because they are curious, or because they actually like it. Either way, sexuality is not a choice.
@MidnightMoonStruck Hi! I cannot tell you when. If it was anything like what happened to me, it came slowly, through many situations and misunderstandings that all of us had as kids. I found out when was the most powerful time for me to soak it in and I took it as it was. Feeling is here to show us what we think most of the time. Feelings are not the cause, only the consequence. We also cannot choose every thought but we can choose which thoughts to focus on. We have power.
@sinisbal Of course you can't, you are not me you know nothing about me or others. You can not make a statement that it's a choice for someone. You're right we do have power and choices, to live the way we choose and pursue happiness, or to submit to someone'e else's opinions and expectations. That is NOT a life for me. Might as well lock me up and keep me from any contact from the outside world.
@MidnightMoonStruck So, the whole point and difference between a human being and the animal is the choice. We have been given a mind to use it and not to be used by it. As long as one allows his thoughts and feelings to be his master, well, he is the slave. And the process of growing up is to overcome and become the master of yourself and to choose what is the best for you. Yes, we definitely have choice. And I know that the CHOICE worked for me.
@sinisbal "Not to be used by" Free will is the most important thing to a human being. To be able to choose what to do with your life and how to live it. It's not a choice to be attracted to someone, it's a choice whether or not to act on your feelings. You, were gay? You ARE gay, you just chose to live a different life, hoping your feelings would go away. You made a choice to only embrace a part of who you are. Good for you.
I am my own master intentionally and unintentionally, who is yours?
@sinisbal Sorry you had such a bad experience, doesn't mean every person in the world has. Sexuality is something very precious to a person's identity. No one should be alone, EVER. Everyone deserves someone out there. You shouldn't be alone just because someone else thinks it's wrong. No, you're being dramatic, being gay doesn't kill anything good or noble in a person. In fact, not hiding who you are and standing to discrimination is what makes someone noble.
@MidnightMoonStruck I appreciate your reply but I know what the sin of homosexuality did to me. I learned it from the first hand experience and I know beyond any shadow of doubt that homosexuality is the killer of character. Nothing more than other sins of course. But it is a rotten foundation. I am not discriminating anyone, if it appeared but I cannot tolerate the sin that is so destructive. The person itself is caught up in the net of the sin. So sin is what brings death.
@sinisbal "The sin of homosexuality" Homosexuality is not a sin. Another person making choices based on a book that was written thousands of years ago and has been edited through time. Killer of character? So your're saying that my happy LGBT feelings are a killer of my character? Gawd, man just stop right now. You have no idea who other people are, yet you are making these statements. All the gay kids who killed themselves, did it because of how others treated them. Because of people like you
@Anjelicmusic1 That's a common copout that people like you use, that I was never a Christian. Dude, I loved Yahweh and Jesus with all my heart. I went to Church all the time and I believed in them with every fiber of my being. Let me use this argument in reverse, you never were gay, because orientation is not a choice and anyone who knew that life could not deny it of themselves.
@Anjelicmusic1 I left Christianity because it didn't make sense anymore among other reasons. The natural world pretty much proves the bible is wrong about homosexuality. I am a free thinker.
@idaman12345 So you got a history lesson in other words, huh? :) When it comes to this gay marriage issue, let people believe what they want about it, but they don't have the right to force that belief on gay people, no more than they would want the gays forcing their life on them. The critiques never seem to have the capacity to grasp the concept of empathy.
@Anjelicmusic1 Why believe in something that hates his own creations? Muslims, Christians, Jews, its funny how you all have the same god, but he is telling you all different things. And what those 3 mainstream beliefs have in common is you all think everyone is automatically wrong. Yeah that sounds logical.
@Anjelicmusic1 The Gods rescued my wife and I from a terrible fate when your God was nowhere to be found, that's when I became Hellenic. The Gods have saved my baby boy too and blessed me and my family so much. Most of the world was forced into Christianity. It was imposed on this world by force with countless murders, persecutions and destruction. Many are still forced into it. When given the choice, free of fear and indoctrination, most people do not choose any biblical religion.
@Arkenholm Sorry to burst your bubble. All freedom is not freedom at all and it is not right. Thank God that you are not god, because it seems that you would allow the person to marry the dog. You know, many people love their dogs more than other people...
The majority always makes the rules. That is how governments are formed. I was gay for many years. I lived perverted life and I know from my experience that gay lifestyle is dangerous for everyone, especially for kids who are an easy target to adopt the perversion as being normal. It is not normal. It never will be. Gay people have a right to live as gay. But the marriage is a holy communion between man and a woman.
@sinisbal You were experimenting. Orientation is not a choice, that's been proven over and over. Homosexuality is found in over 1,000 species. It's pretty natural. Children are harmed more in straight households than gay ones. How much more does this have to be proven? What if the majority decided you shouldn't have the right to be Christian, would that be fair? Yet, you want the majority to take freedom from others. You want freedom that you're not willing to give to others. Hypocritical.
@sinisbal Secondly, marriage is a social construct. In some cultures (such as biblical ones) it's custom to have more than one wife, which there's nothing wrong with, but not every culture believes in that. But it doesn't matter what the Bible says anyway because our Constitution forbids the government from making any laws respecting it. Period. Churches have the right to marry who they want, but the state cannot keep equal opportunity from a certain group.
@sinisbal That's irrelevant to this conversion, besides I'm not a Christian Priest. Don't make that mistake. The point, and I will leave it at this, is that if you want freedom, you have to be willing to give it to others, otherwise you're a hypocrite. If you want the freedom to marry the person you want, you have to allow others to as well. If you want the freedom to be the religion you want, you have to give it to others too. The Constitution exists as a defense against discriminatory rule.
@PriestChristopher Of course!! I agree that freedom needs to be given to all. The only way that I could choose not to be gay anymore was because of freedom and love that was given to me. Then I chose Jesus and He healed me of all my sin. My point still is that the marriage is between man and woman because anything other than that is very misleading and confusing for generations that are now coming. Sorry. Many choose to be gay because it is easier than to fight it. But it is still degrading.
@sinisbal Dude, do you know how many people have claimed to have been healed of Homosexuality and were still secretly homosexual? Do you know how many kids have been rounded up and thrown into concentration camps called "pray the gay away" camps and how many have committed suicide because they were conditioned to hate their humanity? And you call this hope?
BY 2015 ALL STATES WILL BAN GAY MARRIAGES AND I WISH THEY BAN GAY COUPLES FROM ACTING LIKE STRAIGHT COUPLES IN PUBLIC PLACES, RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 39 WHO ALREADY BANNED GAY MARRIAGE AND MAYBE 7 MORE IN 2012
GOOD THING WE HAVE PEOPLE LIKE NEWT, SANTORUM, AND MITT, WHO WILL ALWAYS STAND FOR DECENCY we must fill the state and federal governments with people like them, MURDERS CAN DISRUPT SOCIETY FOR a MINUTE BUT GAY CAN ACTUALLY DESTROY THE SOCIETY FROM THE ROOT have shame
@TimothyMooreTv1 I blocked you because you're a hateful bigot and arguing with you is like arguing with a brick wall, I have no interest in doing it. If you look at the progress of civil rights since the 60s, I'd say it's your kind that is being defeated. Now get off my page. Your hate is disgusting and I just don't wish to talk to you anymore, sir. I pray you find peace and wisdom.
@PriestChristopher Wow he just won't stop. Much like that westboro baptist church member I argued with, the argument started when he responded to my comment of how disgusting the WBC is by saying the usual extremist fundie stuff like "Fred Phelps is a true man of God" and homosexuality is like pedophilia, zoophilia and necrophilia.
I finally stopped when he accidentally forgot to make his comment a response to me
@TjmMinistries And on top top of all that, the bible is irrelevant in our government. Have you taken time to read the Constitution? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Therefore, our government cannot force religious laws on people, period. Nor can they stop someone from following whatever religion they want. The government cannot legally ban gay marriage based on a religious belief, it's illegal.
@TjmMinistries On top of that, there are over 1,000 species in this planet who engage in homosexuality but homophobia and hatred of gays is only found in ONE, ours. It seems to me like homophobia is the more unnatural. Your arguments just do not measure up to logic and truth. Lastly, I'm not gay.
@cdl34453 What about straight people who cannot have babies, should their marriages be legal? The population of the world is growing at an alarming rate, I think we'll be alright.
@THEHELENOHENZO god, it's like you people have forgotten what it's like to fall in love. What it's like to be human. You are human beings that can't relate to other human beings. It's very sad and pathetic. Especially when the people you think are wrong; are just people who just want their rights that you have as well. So sad.
@MidnightMoonStruck right to be indecent! we have a society to defend. what do you guys have against what is right, what is decent, moral values, this society, common sense, nature, and thinking. CAN YOU SEE THAT BEING GAY IS ONE OF THE SIGNS OF TIME. being gay is not right in any racial mind
@THEHELENOHENZO Homosexuality has been around since man walked the Earth. It's just people have kept them silenced, imprisoned or killed. Homosexuality is found in over 1,000 species on this planet. For it to be so "unnatural" Nature is sure rampant with it. All I see is utter hate and ignorance from people like you. But your mentality is dying.
@THEHELENOHENZO Second, You don't have the right to force your beliefs on other people. What if a large group of people decided straight marriage is wrong? Is it right for them to force that on you? I don't care what you believe, but I implore you, get rid of this hate you have inside yourself. This hate you have for anyone who is different, for anyone who is not Christian. You will never find peace until you stop hating, I know from experience.
@PriestChristopher OMFG! Being gay is NOT the signs of your religious "time" it is just apart of someone. It is NOT against nature, look at all the different species in the world who practice homosexuality. But wait, you wouldn't do that because it might change your beliefs. We wouldn't want you to think outside your tiny mind. I'm amazed we still having people around who live in the dark ages. You know absolutely nothing, YOU are the HATER. We will always fight for equality.
@cdl34453 No it would actually do the population some good. We are TOO crowded. Especially when religious nut cases are trying to get rid of birth control methods. Did it ever occur to you that reproducing is not the only thing people like to do with their lives? We are not people making machines just because we have reproductive parts. That is an OPTION; not an obligation.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
You can not ban love. You can not change the way people live their lives. You can not impose your religion on others. We have separation of church and state. This amendment would and is overridden by the 1st amendment. This is all a political distraction, the republicans were elected on their job initiative platforms. Since they have been elected, more unemployment than ever before. It's just a distraction, focus people!
I'm not a homophobe or anything but I already know that the ban will happen. Because if California bans it then we certainly will as well. I have no doubt about it. But why put the ban into law? I mean it's already illegal for the same sex to get married... why make a constitutional ban on it? I wish we were like Canada... because they don't discriminate against lgbt people and they actually know not to judge based on religion. Talk about the us being the land of the free...smh..
@givepropstotherich Because if the enemies of freedom can get an illegal constitutional amendment banning it, it will be much, much harder to reverse. This law also attacks civil unions, both gay and straight, by taking away their rights and benefits.
My question is... why is our government so controlling to begin with? Isn't our sexuality a free choice?>W> I am bisexual, and always will be. No one can ban me from my sexuality. Not my government, not my parents, not my friends. No one. D:< We should all have the right to make our own choices. Discrimination needs to end. Period.
@mariegoslar Your sexuality is your private business, and I agree that government should butt out of that. But asking for public recognition of your relationship -- e.g. government recognition of gay or bisexual marriages -- makes it a public matter, since you're asking for public validation of your sexual preferences. Why should the public be expected to endorse, let alone subsidize new forms of marriage?
@sklanger I don't think sexuality should be pressured on anyone. It's a personal decision through and through. The only reason why it is an issue with the government has to due with the prominent religions in our nation. The majority do not support homosexuality. The majority being some form of belief in Christ. So therefore the issue is brought out, by the government. Due to the high amount of discrimination in attempts to make religions and people more accepting.
@sklanger The extreme opposite is of course, a controlling and communist-like ban. The real issue relates to a lot of our republicans. Who believe our entire nation needs to be Christian. Hence the ban. They want all minds to think a like. Christian communism... One World Government system. It's all about them. They worry too much about what other people do. It seems as if freedom has flown out a window. :C Know what I mean?
I Live in north carolina and i am so proud of our gen assembly and leaders in the church, this coming may 8th we will be an example to this nation of how its done a GOD fearing people standing against perversion protecting our children from gay predators like those in NAMBLA and on Dateline NBC, unlike Obama and other libriel democrats we don't bend over backwards for the gays and lesbians.
@TjmMinistries I'm glad our constitution prevents people like you from shoving your religion down everyone's throat. The only reason gays are oppressed is because it's not outlined in the constitution. Gays are no more "perverted." Straight people commit more sexual crimes than gays and lesbians, that's a fact. No, we don't bend over backwards for them, it's legal to fire them here for being gay and legal to refuse them service at a restaurant. Your hate and bigtory is dying though.
@PriestChristopher , It's outlined in the word of GOD and thats enough for me, and i don't have any religion to shove i HATE religion !, im a Chrstian which is not religion, if the people in Hollyweird CA voted it down then its a done deal in NC, its only activist judges and crooked polititians that try to shove unrighteous decree's down our throats.
@TjmMinistries so a couple things... 1. you should focus on something that does affect you. 2. I had nothing to do with the Syracuse or Penn States scandles however if you want we could discuss all the molestation that takes place in the churches around the world. 3. I am a LESBIAN and very proud of it!!
@imanequal , sandusky and fine are GAY ! thats the point, all gays are a danger to children one way or the other, be proud honey and im a proud straight Christian man who is a father and grandfather, something you and yours can't do.
@TjmMinistries How are gays a danger to children? Let's go ahead and get this refuted with cold hard facts. Tell me, I won't make any assumptions, how are they a danger?
@PriestChristopher ,i don't expect you to understand this but here goes, homosexuality is pedifila are both demonic spirits of perversion they go hand and hand, demon spirits destroy, john 10:10
@TjmMinistries Now let me show you something you're not used to, logic. Facts show that Pedophilia is committed by straight people overwhelmingly more than homosexuals. Your "demon" fallacy as I call it has no bearing because it cannot be verified. You got anything else?
@PriestChristopher , I got this, in May the ban will pass and you know it, this is N.Carolinia pal not new york, heck it was even banned in California ''Hollyweird'' of all places, when ever you take this issue to the ballot box and take it out the hands of politicans and activist judges more than not IT GOES DOWN HARD !
@TjmMinistries Pedophilia also has nothing to do with homosexuality. Pedophilia deals specifically with an attraction to children. It has nothing to do with sex between consenting adults. Do you get that?
@TjmMinistries A lot of Christians in history have murdered innocent people for refusing to become Christian, so by your logic that means Christians are all murderers. Do you see how illogical you're being?
@TjmMinistries get what I'm saying you'd hate to be denied the same rights white people get and you'd hate it even more if those rights were taken by someone who thinks all black people are drug dealing criminals
@TjmMinistries You're not using reality, reality has already disproven your ridiculous claims, you're using your religion to justify hate. Your definition of "evil" is anyone who is not like you. I am so glad I don't live in such a world of hate as you.
@Genin99 , Gay people do not deserve special rights, special rights are reserved for handicap, sick, elderly and children, if thats the case lets legalize CRACK ! then sit back and count the dead.
@TjmMinistries No one's arguing that gays deserve special rights, but they do deserve civil rights. You just love voting to take freedom away from other people but think that yours should always be protected. "Those who deny freedom to others do not deserve it themselves." - Abraham Lincoln. Your mentality is dying by the day, pal. Bigotry and hate has always lost in America, always.
@TjmMinistries This isn't an issue about special rights, but equal rights to marry the person that you love. It's guaranteed to us in the constitution to have the right to pursue happiness and that includes marriage.
@BlueFireWitch PURSUE HAPPINESS W/O BRAKING MORAL LAWS gay can destroy the society from root and cause natural disasters (God's punishment) HAVE WE LOST ALL OURSELVES RESPECTS use word gay should be a reason to be ashamed
@THEHELENOHENZO There is no moral clause in the constitution. The only stipulation on the pursuant of happiness is that they don't restrict others rights. Will you speak proper English please when responding because you are barely coherent?
@TjmMinistries Also, keeping drugs illegal actually kills more people. If they drugs were legalized and regulated, there'd be far less death and far less money spent. We spend $41 billion on the federal level alone on the war on drugs which only gives more money to drug cartels and gangs from selling it on the black market. So yes, we should legalize and regulate crack. There'd be less dead people and less taxpayer waste.
Even if I didn't believe in gay marriage (and I have the same stance on drugs, and abortion) what is it my business what you do with your life?? What authority do I, as an American, have to decide what you do?? Sadly homophobes don't live by this...
PriestChristopher, I want to point out that the vote for this Amendment is actually during the primary, in May, so that the Republicans have a much larger turn out than the more liberal community. It's scary that they are even allowed to put a law on the books during a primary.
Being born in NC and living there for 30 years during the race riots in schools and busing. They are still a very Southern Baptist thought process in some areas. Raised in Greensboro I saw a lot of things that I did not agree with. Bravo to you for speaking out. i hope things change for the better. If I still lived there I would so be at the polls for Gay Marriage and equal rights for all and not just a select few.
Even if it gets voted down it is inevitable before it gets voted in. I hope it passes this time, but with New York passing it I can see more states following suit quicker.
America is suppose to be a place for all faiths and all walks of life. The first amendment clearly states that our leaders are not to show favoritism to one religion, nor make it the main religion of our country. MidnightMoonStruck 4 days ago
So sin is what brings death.
sinisbal 3 days ago
@sinisbal "The sin of homosexuality" Homosexuality is not a sin. Another person making choices based on a book that was written thousands of years ago and has been edited through time. Killer of character? So your're saying that my happy LGBT feelings are a killer of my character? Gawd, man just stop right now. You have no idea who other people are, yet you are making these statements. All the gay kids who killed themselves, did it because of how others treated them. Because of people like you
MidnightMoonStruck 2 days ago
@PriestChristopher You were never Christian! This would mean you would know God. Why did you turn away from him?
Anjelicmusic1 4 weeks ago
@Anjelicmusic1 That's a common copout that people like you use, that I was never a Christian. Dude, I loved Yahweh and Jesus with all my heart. I went to Church all the time and I believed in them with every fiber of my being. Let me use this argument in reverse, you never were gay, because orientation is not a choice and anyone who knew that life could not deny it of themselves.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher If you believed God with every fibre of your being then you would agree 100% with Romans 1: 18-32
Anjelicmusic1 4 weeks ago
@Anjelicmusic1 And look, I don't care what you believe, just don't force it on people who don't want it. Do you think that's a reasonable agreement?
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@Anjelicmusic1 I left Christianity because it didn't make sense anymore among other reasons. The natural world pretty much proves the bible is wrong about homosexuality. I am a free thinker.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher i am just like you, i left christianity after taking a 3 month backpacking vacation in europe
idaman12345 2 weeks ago
@idaman12345 So you got a history lesson in other words, huh? :) When it comes to this gay marriage issue, let people believe what they want about it, but they don't have the right to force that belief on gay people, no more than they would want the gays forcing their life on them. The critiques never seem to have the capacity to grasp the concept of empathy.
PriestChristopher 2 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher pretty much, wouldn't call it a lesson, but more of a realization on my own
idaman12345 2 weeks ago
@Anjelicmusic1 Why believe in something that hates his own creations? Muslims, Christians, Jews, its funny how you all have the same god, but he is telling you all different things. And what those 3 mainstream beliefs have in common is you all think everyone is automatically wrong. Yeah that sounds logical.
MidnightMoonStruck 4 weeks ago
@Anjelicmusic1 The Gods rescued my wife and I from a terrible fate when your God was nowhere to be found, that's when I became Hellenic. The Gods have saved my baby boy too and blessed me and my family so much. Most of the world was forced into Christianity. It was imposed on this world by force with countless murders, persecutions and destruction. Many are still forced into it. When given the choice, free of fear and indoctrination, most people do not choose any biblical religion.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@Arkenholm I don't think he realizes how stupid it sounded.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@Arkenholm Sorry to burst your bubble. All freedom is not freedom at all and it is not right. Thank God that you are not god, because it seems that you would allow the person to marry the dog. You know, many people love their dogs more than other people...
sinisbal 4 weeks ago
The majority always makes the rules. That is how governments are formed. I was gay for many years. I lived perverted life and I know from my experience that gay lifestyle is dangerous for everyone, especially for kids who are an easy target to adopt the perversion as being normal. It is not normal. It never will be. Gay people have a right to live as gay. But the marriage is a holy communion between man and a woman.
sinisbal 4 weeks ago
@sinisbal You were experimenting. Orientation is not a choice, that's been proven over and over. Homosexuality is found in over 1,000 species. It's pretty natural. Children are harmed more in straight households than gay ones. How much more does this have to be proven? What if the majority decided you shouldn't have the right to be Christian, would that be fair? Yet, you want the majority to take freedom from others. You want freedom that you're not willing to give to others. Hypocritical.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@sinisbal Secondly, marriage is a social construct. In some cultures (such as biblical ones) it's custom to have more than one wife, which there's nothing wrong with, but not every culture believes in that. But it doesn't matter what the Bible says anyway because our Constitution forbids the government from making any laws respecting it. Period. Churches have the right to marry who they want, but the state cannot keep equal opportunity from a certain group.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher Priest? Is that your profession? If it is, you shouldn't be here.
sinisbal 4 weeks ago
@sinisbal That's irrelevant to this conversion, besides I'm not a Christian Priest. Don't make that mistake. The point, and I will leave it at this, is that if you want freedom, you have to be willing to give it to others, otherwise you're a hypocrite. If you want the freedom to marry the person you want, you have to allow others to as well. If you want the freedom to be the religion you want, you have to give it to others too. The Constitution exists as a defense against discriminatory rule.
PriestChristopher 4 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher Of course!! I agree that freedom needs to be given to all. The only way that I could choose not to be gay anymore was because of freedom and love that was given to me. Then I chose Jesus and He healed me of all my sin. My point still is that the marriage is between man and woman because anything other than that is very misleading and confusing for generations that are now coming. Sorry. Many choose to be gay because it is easier than to fight it. But it is still degrading.
sinisbal 4 weeks ago
@sinisbal Dude, do you know how many people have claimed to have been healed of Homosexuality and were still secretly homosexual? Do you know how many kids have been rounded up and thrown into concentration camps called "pray the gay away" camps and how many have committed suicide because they were conditioned to hate their humanity? And you call this hope?

@PriestChristopher Wow he just won't stop. Much like that westboro baptist church member I argued with, the argument started when he responded to my comment of how disgusting the WBC is by saying the usual extremist fundie stuff like "Fred Phelps is a true man of God" and homosexuality is like pedophilia, zoophilia and necrophilia.
I finally stopped when he accidentally forgot to make his comment a response to me
Genin99 1 month ago
@TjmMinistries And on top top of all that, the bible is irrelevant in our government. Have you taken time to read the Constitution? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Therefore, our government cannot force religious laws on people, period. Nor can they stop someone from following whatever religion they want. The government cannot legally ban gay marriage based on a religious belief, it's illegal.
PriestChristopher 1 month ago
@TjmMinistries On top of that, there are over 1,000 species in this planet who engage in homosexuality but homophobia and hatred of gays is only found in ONE, ours. It seems to me like homophobia is the more unnatural. Your arguments just do not measure up to logic and truth. Lastly, I'm not gay.

THEHELENOHENZO 3 days ago
@THEHELENOHENZO Homosexuality has been around since man walked the Earth. It's just people have kept them silenced, imprisoned or killed. Homosexuality is found in over 1,000 species on this planet. For it to be so "unnatural" Nature is sure rampant with it. All I see is utter hate and ignorance from people like you. But your mentality is dying.
PriestChristopher 3 days ago
@THEHELENOHENZO Second, You don't have the right to force your beliefs on other people. What if a large group of people decided straight marriage is wrong? Is it right for them to force that on you? I don't care what you believe, but I implore you, get rid of this hate you have inside yourself. This hate you have for anyone who is different, for anyone who is not Christian. You will never find peace until you stop hating, I know from experience.
PriestChristopher 3 days ago
@PriestChristopher OMFG! Being gay is NOT the signs of your religious "time" it is just apart of someone. It is NOT against nature, look at all the different species in the world who practice homosexuality. But wait, you wouldn't do that because it might change your beliefs. We wouldn't want you to think outside your tiny mind. I'm amazed we still having people around who live in the dark ages. You know absolutely nothing, YOU are the HATER. We will always fight for equality.
MidnightMoonStruck 2 days ago
@cdl34453 No it would actually do the population some good. We are TOO crowded. Especially when religious nut cases are trying to get rid of birth control methods.

It's just a distraction, focus people!
frosted1030 5 months ago
I'm not a homophobe or anything but I already know that the ban will happen. Because if California bans it then we certainly will as well. I have no doubt about it. But why put the ban into law? I mean it's already illegal for the same sex to get married... why make a constitutional ban on it? I wish we were like Canada... because they don't discriminate against lgbt people and they actually know not to judge based on religion. Talk about the us being the land of the free...smh..
givepropstotherich 5 months ago
@givepropstotherich Because if the enemies of freedom can get an illegal constitutional amendment banning it, it will be much, much harder to reverse. This law also attacks civil unions, both gay and straight, by taking away their rights and benefits.

My question is... why is our government so controlling to begin with? Isn't our sexuality a free choice?>W> I am bisexual, and always will be. No one can ban me from my sexuality. Not my government, not my parents, not my friends. No one. D:< We should all have the right to make our own choices. Discrimination needs to end. Period.
mariegoslar 5 months ago
@mariegoslar Your sexuality is your private business, and I agree that government should butt out of that. But asking for public recognition of your relationship -- e.g. government recognition of gay or bisexual marriages -- makes it a public matter, since you're asking for public validation of your sexual preferences. Why should the public be expected to endorse, let alone subsidize new forms of marriage?
sklanger 5 months ago
@sklanger I don't think sexuality should be pressured on anyone. It's a personal decision through and through. The only reason why it is an issue with the government has to due with the prominent religions in our nation. The majority do not support homosexuality. The majority being some form of belief in Christ. So therefore the issue is brought out, by the government. Due to the high amount of discrimination in attempts to make religions and people more accepting.
mariegoslar 5 months ago
@sklanger The extreme opposite is of course, a controlling and communist-like ban. The real issue relates to a lot of our republicans. Who believe our entire nation needs to be Christian. Hence the ban. They want all minds to think a like. Christian communism... One World Government system. It's all about them. They worry too much about what other people do. It seems as if freedom has flown out a window. :C Know what I mean?

TjmMinistries 5 months ago
@TjmMinistries I'm glad our constitution prevents people like you from shoving your religion down everyone's throat.
