I never said that Allison is bad; I merely said that her attempts at higher notes are marred by the strained quality of her vocals when she gets up there. It's not an OPINION that Carrie is a soprano with a far greater upper range than Allison....it's a stone-cold FACT. It's not an OPINION that Allison's upper register sounds extremely thin and brittle...it's a stone-cold FACT. It's not an OPINION that Carrie was singing higher notes and with far greater ease at age 16...it's a stone-cold FACT.

Yes, they do have different voices. Carrie is a soprano...Allison is either an alto or a mezzo. Hence Carrie's natural aptitude with belting and sustaining much higher notes. Allison's strength is her lower register. That's where her greatest power and best intonation is. Carrie's is in her upper register.

and yes, Carrie sings country, but her voice can cross into other genres as well. Check out her live performances of "Paradise City" by Guns N Roses.

again, WHY are the allison fans giving me thumbs downs for stating the FACTS?? carrie has a MUCH higher range than allison (you don't even have to be a vocal expert to know this) and a far greater NATURAL knack for power-belting. Allison's delivery is EXTREMELY strained, she doesn't have the type of voice that can withstand loud, high singing for extended periods of time. That's why even her talking voice gets hoarse after a while, and she sounds like she's going to cough up one of her lungs!

um. no. Allison's voice sounded thin and forced; she was straining. Carrie clearly did the best version of the song, she belted through the chorus clearly and effortlessly, and on tour, even hit that extremely high chest note going into the second chorus. Allison could NEVER belt that note...it's way too high for her chest range.

umm okay thats ur opion but i really think it sounds way better and more natural with allison she is just more of my cup of tea she has that really griddy rock voice which i love so i guess u dont but i think allison can hit sme highnotes maybe not that high but she has a rocker voice not country so clearly allisons is better

She hit a high F# in full chest voice like it You can spew as much BS as you want to, but I actually have an education in vocal anatomy, so you WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL in an argument with me. Carrie is a soprano, whereas Allison is an alto. There is NO comparison where range is concerned. Carrie smokes her.
