  • I just picked up a turbo from my friend, I was told it can off a dt466, but don't really know shit about it. All I know is it's a Garrett. Can anyone tell me details about the turbos that come on them? I'm not sure what year the motor was though. It's going on a lm7 5.3l til I got the money for a bigger and better turbo.

  • I have a 1990 DT. Love it!

  • i like dt466 dont get me wrong but a loved when they made dt 360 engines those run good 3 of our buses have dt360's the rest t44e dt 466 and 6.7 cummins in the visions and cats in the freightliners

  • what bell housing bolt pattern do they use???

  • damn that sounds nice!!! sound reminds me of a 60 series detroit

  • what is that motor in?????

  • sounds like my school bus i ride on, IC FE 300. really pulls out smaller school buses easily

  • do you find it has alot of power

  • What year is your bus? Just wondering.. sounds different compared to my IC CE.

  • kool kool but da dt 570 is way beta

  • Not in the older trucks. They cant take the rpm that a 466 can.

  • Sounds like a DT466 made in roughly 2002/2003?

  • Look again, it's a mechanical DT466. Last they made em with V-belts was 1992.

  • Is 466 its displacement? Also is it made by Navistar?

  • Yep, 466 cubes. Made by IH/ Navistar

  • It is made by International Navistar, International Harvester is now a Fiat brand and sold under the Case name. The dt466 was orignally made by McCormick, the orignal owners of the IH name. In the mid 80's McCormick sold the entire company, Navistar bought the highway division, and Fiat group bought the agricultural division.

  • @nevrenufhp yeo you can see the injection lines, too

  • @nevrenufhp Do you know alot about these motors? Is 466 the cubic inches?

  • @pwarren1010

I know enuf about em to get me in trouble. I actually have a small business catering to performance for these engines in trucks. Yes, they are 466 cubic inches.

  • @nevrenufhp I wonder if anyones ever used them in a 1 ton 4x4?

  • @pwarren1010

It has been attempted by many, but finished by very few. It's a swap only for an experienced swapper. Really big, heavy, and tall. I had got started putting one in a Super Duty for a pro-street diesel concept, but had to bail on it due to funds. It can be done with a bodylift, and you expect it to be at least 10 inches into the firewall.

  • Sounds ok, gonna dump more fuel in it?
