hey nice caprice, i got a 89 305 with an 8.5 posi in it and the 305 dont quite have the power im looking for,what do you think i could drop in it thts not too expencive, i was thinking 454 from the old chevy duallys but not sure about motor mounts and all but nice car man

sbc 400 bored .060 ,stock crank,PM 5.7 rods,hypertec flat top pistions,comp hyd. cam & lifters,crane roller rockers,sportsman II iron heads,2.02 in.1.60 ex.,no porting,just right out of the box,well there are drilled for th steam passages,as this is a 400 block.

edelbrock rpm air gap intake,750 d/p holley.

a 100 h/p shot of nitrous.trans is a turbo 350

with a trans pak,3500 tci stall convertor.

hope you car goes good as mine,or even better with the big block.

Looks like it's time for a rear sway bar or maybe an airbag. What was your 60 foot time?

the best 60 ft. time is 1.58

yes I do think a sway bar would have helped,but I did this with no bolt on stuff,as I wanted to remove all the good stuff from the car,and use it on one of my other cars,so that why I did not get any specifice bolt on parts for the caprice.

nice run,was wondering what size tires you used in the rear and what rear end? i got a 87 4 door with a punched out 454 with a nice cam and alumi rpm eldbrock heads.

the rear tires are hoosier quick time pro 27x10 x15.

the rear end is the stock 10 bolt 8.5 with a 3.73 gear.

no on the manual tranny..it's a turbo 350 with a 3500 tci torque converter

Race weight is around 3800 lbs.

Interior is stock,even had the 6 way power seat.

all the options,except power windows.

I did remove the Inner Fender wells,the air conditioning,and heater,power stering pump,and the only fiberglass on the car is the molded on Cowl Hood Scoop.

well I been racing the car at that track since '95 back then it was a 16.2 et.,so they have seen the et's drop from year to year,and the round before this one I messed up shifting,and ran a 14.44,thats what hae was talking about the tune up award.
