Who in their right minds watch a 3-4 hours long oscar? You can watch 2 movies instead.I'd rather watch some chess game on the chess channel than any oscars.
127 hours is an amazing MOVIE!!! and JAMES FRANCO is amazing in that movie. i hope he never plays in a superhero movie EVER AGAIN cause he was really suck at SPIDERMAN!!!!!
I've only seen five of the nominated films. But Inception was just so outstanding I don't know how any other film could be better. The Fighter might be one of the most mediocre nominees ever, despite the performances, I didn't really like it. The King's Speech was a good movie, but not deserving of a Best Picture nod. I enjoyed The Social Network, but it shouldn't win. Toy Story 3 was awesome--maybe the best animated movie ever. But Inception was MIND-BLOWING!!!!!
'Dreamworks' is incredibly close to closing up the gap with PIXAR.'How to Train Your Dragon' is one of the most original animated films I have ever seen. But regardless i barely lean toward TS3.
toy story 3 gets nominated for best picture as well, whereas 'How to train your dragon' and 'Illusionist' doesn't.......kind of makes it obvious who's getting the best animation oscar.....
@arunmonthenet dragon wasnt as good or as well reviewed or as high grossing as Toy Story 3. Yes Dragon did well and did get some rave reviews, but nothing like Toy Story 3
I'm not asking for Best Picture, Director, Actor or Actress, just something... SOMETHING for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. All these movies are wonderful and each is deserving of their nominations, but I know plenty who would agree Scott Pilgrim, easily my favorite film last year, was completely snubbed.
What is the Academy's rules regarding Best Animated Feature films when it comes to how many get nominted? I only ask because this year there is only three while last year there was five.
Best supporting actress is hands down Haillee Stienfeld. She was amazing in True Grit. She had the biggest role out of anyone in the movie. Without her there is no story.
The fact that Michelle Williams was nominated and Ryan Gosling was not is unbelievable. Both fed off of each other's energy, and that's what truly made both of their performances exeptional. Also, Blue Valentine should have been nominated for Best Picture!!
@davidtregenza If by some amazing miracle that there is a chance that these are the correct predictions, I might actually watch this year. ^_^ I totally agree on everyone of these categories.
Go Jacki Weaver! She was really good in The Animal Kingdom and I know I'm biased because I'm Australian but I'm really happy she got nominated and I wish her all the best!!
I really love Jacki Weaver! I know I'm biased because I'm Australian but she was really good in The Animla Kingdom and I'm just really happy she got nominated!!
mi pic is Inception, Best dam movie i had seen in a while... a really good, and verry interesting Topic... verry well writen! i love, how Nolan Makes enfasis on little, but important things like"the Penrose stairs" and the Imposible Architecture.! things that our minds, really dream ! and fool ourselves in the dreamworld...! that really take some imagination and creativity..doing something out of the "box" this is why i don't understand how mediocre film like "social network" gets that much heat
@EMIL1020 word i also love how they mention things that actually happen in dreams. like how ur dreams feel real wen were in them and we realize something was off wen we wake up. and how wen a dream starts we end up right in the middle of what is going on. GREAT MOVIE
@EMIL1020 i agree Inception is an AMAZING film but you have to look at every single aspect of a film. Inception didnt have strong character development-only with Cobb. However I did see everything else to be spectacular. But besides that the Social Network had an outstanding screenplay, and everything else was great. Its not mediocre. Its far from that. However my best bet is on the King's speech this year. That was one great film.
Chris Nolan?? Am sure he's talented, but I didn't like Inception very much...just a bunch of blue screen shots....too messy of a movie...it tried to hard in my opinion...
@PeachPieMe I agree, Inception has a great concept and a plot beyond interesting , but had occasional messy screenplay delivery by the actors (excluding Cotillard) and Nolan himself. a spectacular but not a flawless film.
@henrysinaga Omg! I totally agree...loved Cotillard..her character was the only character I truly cared about.....finally, someone who is easy to comment with and doesn't insult, but has a constructive opinion..thnx
How can Academy not nominate Nolan ... Screenplay was the best part of the movie but Direction was above perfection. .. i have lost my faith in Academy
MONIQUE IS A FUCKING TOOL.THEY ONLY LET HER HELP ANNOUNCE,BECAUSE THEY KNEW IT WOULDNT BE ANY BLACKS NOMINATED THIS YEAR!SHE FELL FOR THE BAIT! I HOPE SHE GOT PAID TO DO THAT!! HALLE BERRY DESERVED A NOMINATION OVER ANNETTE BENING,HER PERFORMANCE WAS CRAP
This just proves the academy hates Christopher Nolan.
First off-he was nominated for best original screenplay for Memento (great film) which he shouldve won but did not.
Second-Dark Knight who in the sheer fuck does not nominate Nolan for directing in the masterful sequel?
Third-Again Directing is taken away from Nolan when he introduced one of the most original films of this decade and it was excellent. Not being nominated for direction here is the biggest snub. Ever.
@brandonhytr OMG! I so agree with this... except maybe about the Cohen brothers, cause I like them a lot, though I would agree that many just say they are great to go with the flow :-w
@brandonhytr Here comes another idiot, I can bet that din't even watch it... i told the same thing about the social network, because i never saw it, then when i watch it it was like a punch to my mouth... The Coen brother are genious and you have to watch this movie
It's all known that oscars is all about politics... I do not need to highlight the reason Inception should be the picture + director selected for this year's Oscars. but for some reason Christopher Nolan is being cut out of the picture..
Apparently creative, intriguing Pictures that engage the audience in the events to make them think a bit is not what Hollywood needs... what it needs is uncerative, unoriginal simple story telling movies about Mark Zuckerberg... What a shame.
Christian Bale should not win, remember his outrage scandal on that poor sound guy on the terminator 4 set , Jeremy Renner should win
I'm sure Christian is happy he finally got nominated for the first time unlike Jeremy's 2nd consecutive nomination he really deserve it see the town and judge for yourself, all Christian did is lose weight for that role
@hindkwt It doesn't really matter, Academy Award is not a popularity contest, winners were given the oscar based on their performances on a the particular film they were nominated for, not on how popular or how nice he was on the filming set.
@hindkwt You're not really giving Bale enough credit. He really transformed himself for the performance, so saying he just lost weight undermines his achievement. I personally thought that his performance was a great example of disappearing into a character. I also loved Jeremy Renner in The Town; he's a great actor. If either of them wins, I'll be happy.
Finally, people need to get over Bale's rant. Everyone has dark moments like that in their life; would you like me to judge you by yours?
@hindkwt You sir are very wrong, not that I have a problem with Jeremy Renner his performance in the town was great but I would recomend you watch the fighter one more time so you can see that Christian Bale did more than just loose weight for the movie he did one of the best performances of 2010, and just cause you dont like the guy doesnt mean his performance isnt good
Go TOY STORY... Please not The Social Network, i really like facebook but that is such a normal movie, that's absolutely an over rated movie, i can tell millions of movies like that, just a normal movie... But then again, The Hurt Locker won last year, so... :p
@Tortilla4ever What's the problem? learn to speak another language and respect people who wants to speak in their language. This vid is not exclusive for english speakers. There are a lot of spanish videos with english comments and nobody complains.
@carav89 ehh what? let me get this straight.. just becouse i don't like spanish that makes me a racist? So, using your argument, if you don't like swedish that also makes you a racist? pff rent trams..
@MrUmbrellaWolf i am sorry, because i like Christopher nolan, and like the golden globes did with True Grit the Oscar did it with Christopher Nolan, in this I am with you... but the Coen Brothers are royalty and they make a perfect work with True Grit, if i choose someone on this list to change it would be Darren Aronofski, the movie was great but i think that Chris was better.
Winner predictions: Best Picture: The King's Speech / Actress: Natalie Portman, Black Swan / Actor: Colin Firth, The King's Speech / Supporting Actress: Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit / Supporting Actor: Christian Bale, The Fighter / Director: David Fincher, The Social Network / Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network / Original Screenplay: The King's Speech / Foreign Language Film: In a Better World (Denmark) / Animated Feature Film: Toy Story 3
the only best picture nominees that I consider to have a chance are .... Black Swan, The King's Speech, The Social Network, The Fighter and True Grit...
Here's True Grit, The Fighter or Black Swan win... they're most deserving.
@henrysinaga I got that feeling too but this really should be James Franco's night. BTW I hate that Christopher Nolan has gotten snubed for the Dark knight and now for Inception
@rps121 Inception was a great film, possibly the best summer blockbuster I've seen last year, but as a best picture nominee, it fell short to the other 9, inception just wasn't artistically meatier compared to King's Speech Black Swan or Winter's Bone if the Academy didn't expand the best Picture nomination to 10 nominees I'm sure Inception won't even get nominated in this category along with 127 Hours and Toy Story 3
@henrysinaga maybe it is true about 127 hours and Toy Story 3, but inception was an excelent movie and i knew since i saw for the first time that it would get the nomination for best movie of the year, and the other you forgot to mention the best movies of the year that are True Grit, The fighter and The Social Network
@bellcoso19 True Grit, Social Network and The Fighter is in the same league as King's Speech Black Swan and Winter's Bone, but not the other 3. but Inception was an early bid, which rarely won the best picture, I predicted Inception to be nominated in the Best Picture category about 3 months before it's release and has since losing the favor, I almost believed that it won't get nominated until it was actually being nominated.

Ummm did anyone forget CHRISTOPHER NOLAN? No, lets go ahead and give the Coen brothers another nomination... Ughhh
But whatever. I'm happy with everything else.
MrUmbrellaWolf 1 year ago 19
@MrUmbrellaWolf i am sorry, because i like Christopher nolan, and like the golden globes did with True Grit the Oscar did it with Christopher Nolan, in this I am with you... but the Coen Brothers are royalty and they make a perfect work with True Grit, if i choose someone on this list to change it would be Darren Aronofski, the movie was great but i think that Chris was better.

@MrUmbrellaWolf the Coen brothers deserve the nomination

and I know it isn't here and the film itself sucked but Tron: Legacy seriously deserved a nomination for music (original score)
ConorBasquille 1 year ago 2
@ConorBasquille Yeah the music in tron was sweet. It's unfortunate it didn't make it but thank the lord that Burlesque didn't either lol

Christopher Nolan is seriously overdue a best director nomination at least. The Academy seriously need to get their act together

Jesse Eisenberg for best actor and Toy Story 3 for best Picture are some nice surprises ;)
TheRobot13 1 year ago
@TheRobot13 Jesse Eisenberg's performance is WILDLY overrated I'm surprised he was even nominated over Robert Duvall in 'Get Low'

the only best picture nominees that I consider to have a chance are .... Black Swan, The King's Speech, The Social Network, The Fighter and True Grit...
Here's True Grit, The Fighter or Black Swan win... they're most deserving.

The Academy owes him a nomination to Chris Nolan (for best direction) for The Dark Knight, and now other for Inception...

Inception has to win Best Picture, and James Franco Best Actor
rps121 1 year ago
@rps121 they won't happen, King's Speech or Social Network is Best Picture and Colin Firth is locked in the Best Actor category.
henrysinaga 1 year ago
@henrysinaga I got that feeling too but this really should be James Franco's night. BTW I hate that Christopher Nolan has gotten snubed for the Dark knight and now for Inception
rps121 1 year ago
@rps121 Inception was a great film, possibly the best summer blockbuster I've seen last year, but as a best picture nominee, it fell short to the other 9, inception just wasn't artistically meatier compared to King's Speech Black Swan or Winter's Bone if the Academy didn't expand the best Picture nomination to 10 nominees I'm sure Inception won't even get nominated in this category along with 127 Hours and Toy Story 3
henrysinaga 1 year ago
@henrysinaga maybe it is true about 127 hours and Toy Story 3, but inception was an excelent movie and i knew since i saw for the first time that it would get the nomination for best movie of the year, and the other you forgot to mention the best movies of the year that are True Grit, The fighter and The Social Network
bellcoso19 1 year ago
@bellcoso19 True Grit, Social Network and The Fighter is in the same league as King's Speech Black Swan and Winter's Bone, but not the other 3. but Inception was an early bid, which rarely won the best picture, I predicted Inception to be nominated in the Best Picture category about 3 months before it's release and has since losing the favor, I almost believed that it won't get nominated until it was actually being nominated.
