  • waw ur good, @__@

  • he chose u!!

  • Nice job man. You really gave the song some depth.

  • amazing!! you did 60% of the song!! you rock!!

  • thanks, but i really didnt do that much.

I played all the instruments, but i only "wrote" like 20%

  • You didn't only "write" 20% of it, you provided the backing track and the main order for all of the steps after 8. Without you, we'd only have ATS's loop and the magic of "cut n' paste." It seems more like you actually put this song into a direction rather than a pool of ideas that just come together as we go.

  • Nicely done.

  • lol ok congrates

  • congrates dude!!! is it just the same chords as the verse or is a different chords for the bridge???

  • honestly, I played the bridge differently on the 2 guitars... they're just octaves, so I dont know the names of the chords... different from the verse though.

  • almost ready with the reworked chorus / new version... but I'm thinkin... video this time instead of just a picture :)

  • Love the harmonies. Congrats!

  • wow, this project is turning out so great! i really like what you added to the song. nice job man!

  • matthew sweet, just put out a new record already.

  • Congrats dude. I had a feeling you might win. I really liked the work you did with this.

  • Before the first chorus, did you try to add a pick slide? It would sound sweet right before the chorus. Try this chord progression change:

    Eb Eb/D Cm

    Let the music play.

    Ab Bb Eb

Let the rockers roll. Eb Eb/D Cm

I don't care what you say. Ab Bb Eb

    We're turning up the rad-io.

It's very simple chord progression, but it works with the lyrics. Keep what you got just add a rhythm guitar to play those chords to see if it blends with what you got.

  • wow, thats really detailed feedback, thanks!

    pick slides make everything better.

  • Sounds a little too poppy than I was hoping the song would turn out...but oh well.

  • i <3 it!

  • don't alter in the melody. the chorus was perfect. the melody was perfect

  • i dont think altering the melody is a good idea, but I do thing simplifying the chorus chords might help.

I'm gonna give it a shot, and try to incoprerate everyones comments /ideas

  • Congrats, dude!

  • I think this project is really turning out awesome... I honestly think it's almost there.

I look forward to seeing some great chorus ideas... or I could contribute. But I'm so lazy. Oh well...

btw - a harmony on that solo would be tight.

  • Aaah... sounds so much better with unlooped live instruments.

  • Yeah congrats man. I like it overall. I think Rivers picked the bridge out because it adds to the overall feel and adds something different to accent the melody. It will be interesting to see what we all come up with. I'm anxious to hear your next version! Take it all the way!!

  • Hmm...also what about adding in an acoustic guitar on the verses and another electric doubling the bass notes with just simple power chords? Just a suggestion as well. :p

  • I love it overall. But your the vocal harmonies in general needs to be turned up a bit so we can listen to those crispy vocal blends. Suggest on the soloing create a secondary guitar solo to create more color like you did in the ending. Think "Only In Dreams. Money bro! Great job!

  • sounds great, taylor. very cool bridge, great energy, awesome chorus resolution. 8)

  • great job dude

  • This is awesome! Gives me chills everytime I listen to it. It has got nice old-weezer vibe..

  • congrates dude

  • seems like we all agree... new chorus.

  • Gratz dude. Looks like the chorus issues will get ironed out in Step 9... meanwhile, you got mad props from RC himself.

  • i hate how you changed the chorus melody, but i like the bridge. nice climax into the solo.

  • The more I listen the more I like yours.

  • It's very refreshing to hear the song in this crisp and powerful orchestration. The vocals are great. However, I'm not a huge fan of the new chorus arrangement. The melody doesn't do it for me over the descending line.

The harmonies, on the other hand, rule.

  • not sure what you mean about the descending line... you mean the bass? or the vocal melody?

  • The bass, and the octave chords. The melody doesn't seem to have the same punch as it does when it's over a chord that's just parked there for the whole measure.

  • ah, gotcha

  • Very cool. I like the force behind the "let the music play". Cool breakdown harmony thing. May be a little Ozma-ish.

  • thank you!

i admit, i am an ozma fan.

  • things I would add if there hadn't been a deadline:

Tambourine in the guitar riff section (before the vs.) Maybe cowbell in the bridge, hand claps in the 2nd verse. keyboard line in the bridge and last chorus.

  • great version... Dont listen to these guys about the solo, while it is green albumish, Kurt Cobain made a living off it and it works with this song. Ending is great, maybe some cleaning up in the middle/interlude area... Great job though.

  • thanks!

  • Nice ending!

  • thanks!

  • I meant chorus, not solo. Whoopsey.

  • Thats really good, actually. The guitar work sounds much nicer than the original. Good work with the solo, too.

  • thanks!

  • yeah, solo mimicking the chorus is a very green album kind of thing to do, mostly its just a suggestion of where a solo could go.

  • BEST VERSION YET... WITH RIVER's VOICE it would RULE! NICE WORK!

  • I agree, I should post the MP3 with no vocals maybe rivers can sing over it

  • thanks guys,

i just wish I had been in on this process from the begining... i only heard about it a couple of days ago.

  • this is rad as shit. Do it up, son.

  • I like everything except for the updated chorus...don't like how it's like:

    Let. The. Mu. Sic. Play.

  • I actually didnt mean to do that, It was late when I got to vocals, and I kind of forgot how it was supposed to go... I was more trying to play with adding to the song, not changing it.

  • i do love this one man!

  • the variation is what this song needs. Getting away from that "techno loop" was an awesome idea. So far, this is definitely my favorite 5 stars

Turnin', Turnin', Turnin' up the Radio!!!!!!!

  • Wow... this is fantastic... i really like the new dynamics. Great how you used the ats5 guitar and regular guitar. It sounds great in bursts... and it doesn't get old and stuff. Does that make sense?

This is one of my favorite versions... period. This rocks... I'm very impressed.
