How to get Kotor to work using Windows 7 (also works with steam)

When I try to start it, the screen goes black then normal repeatedly.

Ok so followed all the steps and didnt work, went back and realized that for some reason in the steamapps/common/swtor folder there was no swtorlauncher like the one in the above vid. I have the config, the swokor and swupdate (the last two have malaks head for an icon) but no swkotorlauncher at all. Im using steam but so are you and from the looks of it the launcher is the only thing im seem to be missing so...help me anyone, your my only hope!

thanks dude this helped! well so far lol... i dont crash on start up now at at least. i think its just a problem with the main videos they just make peoples pc crash. its like as soon as the first vid is over it just dies

@PingPongNinja123 I think he's meaning that "swtor" is actually the name for "star wars the old republic" where as "kotor" is "knights of the old republic"

It's a bit hard to see what you're doing with the screen a bit muffled like that.

@372542 Are you using the game from steam or do you have the disc. If you didnt get the game from steam you may want to download and install the patch.

This has gotten me the closest so far but after I hit "Game" it goes to a black screen with a blue mouse cursor but does not progress from there. windows then closes the program.

@LolJayl Ok are you using the steam version or do you have the disc. You mayy need to download the update if youre using the disc version.

@PingPongNinja123 So now after I hit Game it just crashes at that Ebon Hawk start up, my screen goes black for a split second as if it was going into full screen mode and then it disappears as if I never started the program up.

@LolJayl Ok you may need to make it start in windowed mode. Sometimes it doesnt work in full screen mode so you have to enable windowed mode.
