Wonderful works of Art! Are you in Southern California? Do you rent your sculptures? They would make great party theme props...... If you don't do this you should consider it ... you would make bank renting them out for parties and events!...
Sadly, I'm still stuck here in Iowa. Renting my pieces out is a GREAT idea, only, they're kind've delicate until they've been molded, & cast in resin. Plus, I'm now concentrating my energies on doing digital sculpture that can be animated in film. But, it's nice to get this positive feedback from you. Thanks for taking a look!
Your pieces are amazing. I've never seen paper mache as detailed as those shown in the clip. Ever thought of doing a tutorial? I think I've got the armature and musculature construction down, but the finishing steps for detail and outer strength - well, it would be cool to watch a professional. I'd also love to know how to make molds of figures like those. I've made paper mache figures before, some quite large, and never knew how to cast them in a permanent medium... advice? instruction? Thanks!
Marvelous work! Very inspiring. It's great how you have learned to turn the manic depression and use it so that it doesn't use you! Kudos :) We are ALL created a special way with special gifts and bents for a purpose.
Now that I've a video cam, I COULD do a tutorial of some sort I s'pose. It's just that I'm no longer doing practical sculpts like shown here.
I'm now focusing my energies on digital sculpting (using Zbrush), & rigging for animation (using 3ds Max).
As for molding, I never really got into that aspect of the work. I'd sell my life -sized pieces to a local lawn ornament company, & THEY'D mold & cast them.
Thats cool :D

So how do you start your sculptures? Do you draw out on cardboard and build up from there,or do you use paler and tape or what?

Thanks for taking a look. Yes, very therapeutic, & it's a great way to get through these sucky Iowa winters.
