@BWCmike Apparently you misunderstood - I didn't tell her about what the administration had done.

The issue here isn't coming out - it's HOW. Nobody, regardless of who they are, should ever 'out' another person. It is up to the person themselves who and how they come out to (so in other words, your 'secrecy'/'youtube' comments are irrelevant and just further illuminate your misunderstanding).

My gosh, this is positively horrific. I hope this is resolved quickly and as painlessly for you as possible as it can be at this point. I'm sitting here positively livid at this injustice.

On a slightly side-ish note, I'm very proud that you are not letting this be and are tackling it head on where others whose DUTY it was to deal with it didn't. You're a very strong young man. My thoughts are with you and I'll be looking for your update.

Hi Ben,

So sorry to hear of your troubles. I think sometimes perceived hesitance or inaction on the part of people in authority is out of their own embarrassment and perhaps their acute anxiety at the thought of doing something which would cause further upset (as well as general ignorance!). A similar thing happened to me at uni ... I still have this constant fear that so called 'confidential' information is 'accidentally' disclosed to other staff and ultimately students.
