People are always talking about fan noise, no one is talking about the fact that the fan is constantly on, even though the MBP 17in is completely cool. The constant sound of the fan is starting to annoy me. Sending it back and forth to "care" has done absolutely NOTHING. :)

I sent mine in after trying to get it fixed at the store more than 5 times. The fan was supposedly replaced but the GRRRRRRR... noise is still there. It is like a "light jet engine" and can be heard 3 rooms away! Too many people are having th same problem. Good Luck with yours.

my MBP was making that same noise.. But what I did was I actually took the fan apart.. AND I seperated it from the motor.. Cleaned it out and now I have nothing..
