  • HARDCORE 4 HARDCORE

  • Hardcore used to be about unity and brotherhood...but now it's about who has the biggest crew and who dances the hardest. And it's becoming closer and closer to bad death metal with 1-chord breakdowns.

  • any idea to wach this?

  • Whoa! What's the name of the first song played in the video and the first 25 ta life song?

  • best docu of all times about hc and music in general.

  • where i can download this mouvie?

  • who is the guy at 1:30 that says "to me its all about the fun?"

  • Comment removed

  • @JakeXVX kevin gill...he had a nyhc record label in the 90s

  • 2:14

    HAHAH

  • CRO MAGS.

    ftw

  • man this in NOT the 'true' american hardcore , this is bullshit , real hardcore is the 1980-1985 scene not this fake ass metal crap try to listen to good bands of real hardcore music like BLACK FLAG,CIRCLE JERKS , MINOR THREAT , MDC , EARLY BAD BRAINS , EARLY MISFITS ETC.. THAT IS REAL HARDCORE !

  • hardcore died around 1989. this is all just feeding on the corpse

  • @mb28p Sounds like you have a limited understanding of this music. Enjoy your ignorant world view.

  • What's all this bullshit about the video not portraying actual hardcore? Okay, yeah. American Hardcore addressed the origins and opinions of those who more or less founded the genre here in the states. Only certain people felt it was "over." This documentary contains some of the same people as American Hardcore, both the book and the film. So, what are you trying to say? You don't like the dancing or the music, so it's not hardcore? If you want everything to be the same, stop listening to music.

  • Yeah, it's hardcore. Hardcore changes, it doesn't stay the same, just like everything else in the world. Black Flag was hardcore, these bands are hardcore, and there are hardcore bands today, and there will be hardcore bands in the future. They're gonna change. Ignorant assholes like you will be around in the future and say those future hardcore bands aren't real, and telling them to go listen to the bands in this video. Hardcore is hardcore, and stupid shits like you will be around forever.

  • @NateCola You said it brother. Its the same way with every music and kids dont fucking get it.

  • But with all due respect ,Props to NYHC

  • watch the documentary "American Hardcore"

  • I watched it and wasnt too impressed. It just had the same old people from old school punk bands talking about how punk was over... for them. I wanna watch a documentary on the punk scence in the 90's /2000's.

Punk didnt die in the 80's so people need to stop living in the past.

  • Yeah I just thought that was the closest thing to what you were describing. I agree though, punk still isnt dead, and I hate it when I hear people say that

  • Who's that girl near the start?

I think I heard somewhere her name's Beth?

But is she in a band or anything?

  • lord ezec has a big ass overbite

  • Seeing MadBall in december mu'fuckas!

  • What happened to NYHC in the 90's?.. 'You know what be great man, if I take my taekwondo skills into the pit and fuck smaller kids up, cus I'm tougher than shit and everyone will know it! Yeah man, that's gonna be great' .. Fuckin' depressing, the ultimate sell out of all that was great about H/C... Exporting wild animals? Yeah you suceeded, but they were dumb ones too...

  • VISION OF DISORDER !!!

    - And this is how its gonna be unitl we die!!!

  • Ineffect Zine on sale at a store near you !

  • This DVD is available from Film Fiends.

  • Rick ta life is scumbag! Hahah what a scumbag...

  • whats 0:48 band?

  • 25 Ta Life.....not sure which song though

  • you gotta be kidding me....just because one rebels against society doesn't mean they hate their country!! Shit alot of the guys in the hardcore scene have joined the Marines....if anyone (including myself) saw someone desecrating the flag, we wouldn't take it lightly, or take it at all. Many of us come from broken homes and were considered outcasts everywhere, and we find our own family in hardcore. Get your head outta your ass before you speak

  • I love to see people descrating 'the flag'. it needs to happen more often.

  • good point i may not believe in a system of injustice or corruption but to see people burning a flag and spreading haterd is worser their being what they hate lol theres other ways of showing your dislike thats what i believe

  • 25 ta life

  • most har...bands are just noise but i do like the lyrics!

  • 1:56 whats the band playing and song?

  • yeah.. lets reject society and the freedom it gave for you to reject it. Why not go to some muslim 3rd world country to where your executed for any form of rebellion.

You want to rebel within the freedom given to you. Kinda like an oxymoron.. so yeah..go rebel against the freedom our boys fought and died for over the years.

  • nyc traiLer.!(stay true)

    "CEBU CiTY HARDCORE"

  • Yeah I saw the Cro Mags not to long ago and there were alot of these "hardcore dancers" and they didn't really liked the way me and my crew moshed. I think it was mainly because we actually made contact and they didn't like that haha!

  • Damn i miss the fuckin Pipeline, that shit was like a second home....all the good clubs got shut down, Down Under and 67 Handy St. in Brunswick, Coney Island High, Wetlands and CB's in the city...those were good times. Willie and his crazy bongs during Murphy's Law shows, Virginia, Patty and Jill-the hardcore gals always chillin out...damn i wish it was 95 again

  • probably a stupid ass question, but who was the all-black band?

  • There really isnt an all black band in the documentry...the one with the black dude is No Redeming Social Value, District 9 was mainly latino...hope that helps you out

  • bad brains?

  • whos that krishna guy?

  • vic dicara he played guitar in zach de rochas first band inside out.

He was a hare krisna for a while until he realized it was a waste of life.

  • lol thx for info

  • Zach played guitar in a band called HardStance before he sang for Inside Out.

  • No he didnt think it was a waste of life, hes still interested in spirituality, its just that the guy who was looking out for and helping him was abusing HareKrishna for money and stuff which pissed off vic and he lost interest in it

  • he plays in 108

  • Jock Core.

  • what band and song is playing at 1:00 its FUCKING AMAZING

  • That's "Juggernaut" by Crown of Thornz.

  • V.O.D.

  • Yea that viddies trailer is fresh as...does any 1 know what song is playing between 1:56 - 2:21 ??? it sounds dope...

  • Found out... district 9... victim.

  • these were good times. go see a hardcore show at cbgbs. a punk show a coney island high. then a ska show at the wetlands. maybe even an oi show at the pipline in jersey. the scene was huge we all knew each other and there wasent alot of bullshit. then giuliani came around and "cleaned up the city". there is still places to play but its not the same.

  • I dont know what it is but the hare krsna dude sort of reminds me of ET

  • much respect!! this is hardcore, this is my life!! HxC forever!!

  • YOUTH CREW UBER ALLES O

    HXC

     S

    4 life!

  • I guess you didn't watch the video and you obviously have no idea about the scene. You couldn't be more wrong.

  • where did you get that idea from?

  • lol have u seen district 9 or 25 ta life. half of them are black u fucking retard, your and ignorant hypocritical pig. People nlike u make this a shitty world to live in. Ur just as bad as the KKK

  • i wish i was there to see those bands play live

  • does anybody know the name of the 2 songs vision of disorder play on here?

  • i wabnt to know the same exact thing.

  • suffer, dto, formula for failure. the 3 vod songs that apear in the documentry by vod

  • thanks man

  • i wish people wud put all this fake gang bullshit in cheak, that aint what hardcores about and thats why bands get bad reps and why shows get stopped. for fuck sake wheres the world wide unity Hardcore is ment to be so famous for.

  • well first off... there is no gang bullshit...its about hanging with your family and friends and not leting dumb shits fuck with them... there is no gangs just friends together watching each others back..there is more like a area unity like NY is unified cause they all have the same thoughts about shoes and the pit and stuff like that so if some one from some pussy ass like "don't hit me" area goes to a show full of actualy in your face get punched in the face style pit thats the trouble

  • I think New York Hardcore is way better than Boston Hardcore. Boston is too anal, and theres too much bullshit going on. New York is still keeping it real.

  • 2:35 good shit.

  • i agree

is it just me or only like 2 bands they showd actualy sound nyhc lol

Is the guys name Vic Dicara ?

    Thanks

    hxc for life

  • i love hardcore but nyhc in the 90s made it total wigger core,i rather listen to Dischage than overrated hiphop scum madball

  • Bullshit man, dont judge people by the way they look. I have seen it all: from leather pants to basketball shorts. And as long as the heart of the music and the ppl makeing it, is in the right place, its ok.

  • hardcore isn't about fashion. if thats what your judging then hardcore isn't for you.

  • damn right fuck ny and new school hxc,and dont tell me go to a show or about fsu, dms, or courage crew, those are crews i run wit a real gang.chi town!

  • fuck courage crew

  • damn right fuck them

  • i'm not really into crews but if theres any crew i side with its FSU.

  • All i can do is smile when i watch this :)

  • Its funny. You forget as time goes by, but its crazy how many facial piercings that were going on back in the 90's surprised more of those kids weren't scarred on those dance floors.

  • Only in USA has the true HC scene!

  • not only

  • shut up faggot

  • The Dude with a beard and dreadlocks, what the name of his band????

  • aggression should be released

    otherwise we might get sick

nothing better than dancing at a hc show

  • yeah FREDY own em all xD!!

  • I'm from NYC and played in bands through the 90's. All the hardcore bands were the rich kids from private school whose moms would be dropping off their equipment at gigs. They all had the $85 Carhartt jeans and the $120 Doc Martens. Then they switched to sneakers. What a bunch of poseurs. Half of them went to the U.N. school, or private school.

  • We had a hardcore movement here in N.C. within the 80's and early-90's...ended in 97.We had bands of our own,and also looked up to the bands up north. The rich kids killed t our movement...they liked to pose. They disliked the true ones.

  • the dvd is in stores. 2 disc, extra footage

  • whats the song vision of disorder is playing

  • what 25 ta life song is that?!

  • separate ways

  • Im from york england, iv always loved hardcore from all over the world and in most states in america but iv gota say NYHC touches me so deep, It feels like it is the truest of hardcore when i hear it, it brings me to life and drives me. You are so superior to the Jew.

Thats why you have more money than him.

Thats why you control the media and Hollywood.

Thats why you control US foreign policy.

I bet your out of tune band is better than al of the NYHC Jew bands.

  • first band is vod playing and madball gettin interviewed.

this is when nyhc ruled the world.

  • where can i download this?

    thnx

  • does anybody know the name of the last song played

  • Pretty sure it's "Payback" by District 9

  • This stuff brings back old memories of the late 80s early 90s hangin out with DMS at La maur in Brooklyn NY.... Cro-mags quicksand leeway sick of it all bad brains early biohazard mucky pup breakdown merauder..Those were the days.....

  • madball, perhaps?

  • look how young everyone is freddy bareley any tattoos compared to now danny all of them

  • Good documentary and it was filmed at a crucial time in hardcore; right before intense major label influence and the rise of labels paying attention to bands like Hatebreed, etc.

  • Sorry, I used the bootleg spelling of "Exclaim"---"XClaim" is the original. (Does anyone know who bootlegged those SSD "Kids Will Have Their Say" records that showed up on the LES in the late 80's?)

  • I hate to be a kill joy, but the dancing style showcased in this video was not a product of NYCHC - it's a straight-up original Boston creation. Look at footage of CBGB's in 1990, and then look at footage from any show in Boston from the same era and you'll see.

  • You may be right. But it actually goes back much further than 1990. Boston had the original influence of "macho" jock-influenced dancing in the early days of Exclaim hardcore. The original punk/hardcore dancing was violent--but it was still a "dance", and a "style", not a display of combat moves.

  • The problem in my opinion with a lot of modern bands compared to old bands is that they sound like 1000 other commercial bands. Like YOT or Cro-Mags didn't sound like anything that you would hear on MTV. That's not the case today when every half-brained insecure macho jock wants in on the action and start their own band. Thats why there's bands like Papa Roach & NU-Metal shit that sound much like & are influenced by HC, but has nothing to do with what HC is all about. Hardcore lost focus.

  • But hey i'm not even from NYC so i'll leave it up to you guys over there to sort it out.

Btw. You want some good new hardcore? Career Suicide is my pick. And they ain't even from the states.

Ps. Still, respect to the filmmaker for making this doc. Even if i don't like a lot of the bands it's still crucial.

  • The mid 90's saw the emergence of a lot of bands (mostly hybrid metal acts) that copped the musical style of hardcore and punk without ever understanding the attitude of hardcore or the roots of the movement (rejection of the mainstream, criticism of society, being an outcast, music for fun not profit, the camaraderie, etc.). Hardcore music pre-MTV2, pre internet, pre iTunes, pre Warped Tour was a much different creature.
