  • thats awesome any other department would be pushing it back into the building but fdny always goes in and pushes it out

  • Also I've seen prob 100 or so fires from both working the job, and from watching my dad fight fires as a kid. I have never seen a flashover or backdraft ever happen. I have only heard of it happening once in this town. This personally IMHO looks like a good rolling fire from the front looks like the whole room has burned up and from the back looks like they knocked some of it down and the ceiling is still burning pretty good not a flashover though.

  • Also FDNY is trained completely different than any other department. The standard rules in the book don't apply to them. Why? Because they wrote the goddamn book. When in probie school, one of the first things they do when in a burn building is light a fire then make you take your mask and helmet off so you can feel when it's getting to hot. As for "roasting" your helmet, only vollies who are never busy roast there helmets on purpose. If you did it in FDNY, you would never live it down, trust me

  • @Himdarling44 not totally true. certain depts on Long Island, and especially the houses that have FDNY guys in them train like that . the Nassau COunty fire service academy in your HOse 3 class, you have that same scenario of lighting the place on fire and seeing how hot it gets without ur mask on.u learn quick how ppe is good and smoke behavior.

  • @company2brookside Alot of the guys from Nassau Co. and Hose 3 are FDNY aren't they? That's what I've heard from a couple of friends up that way. Also I've heard of Brookside, but I can't remember where. Where is it located?

  • @Himdarling44 its in UNiondale , Long island. its the baddest engine company on the island. and yea there are fdny guys that volunteer. and hose 3 in roosevelt?

  • @Himdarling44 well except for the BFD (Brooklyn Fire dept) .... they like to look nice and salty for the camera hehe

  • @SFP7342 You also can't work in Brooklyn without rocking a salty moustache.

  • I'm a fireman and I see absolutely nothing wrong with what he did. I can't tell if he is on a Ladder or Engine company, or if he is a Lt., but normally a truck company Lieutenant is the only FF carrying a TIC so if he has a TIC he most likely is a LT. with years on the job and knows the what hell he was doing. None of us know what he was looking for so we can't judge, we shouldn't be anyway.

  • Hey, fuckjobs. He was doing a window search with the TIC. Now go back and jerk off to more videos.

  • Room flashed, anyone in there was dead long before that dumbshit was sticking his head in.. Notice all the other Guys sayin 'what the hell are u doin..'

  • @firnatineaboveall I wonder what he was looking for????

  • @cgw68 his helmet to get charred and look cool?

  • all of you shut the fuck up! who gives a fuck what he's doing! if he wants to die then it's on him. he obviously had a TIC and was sweeping the floor with a hook. and if he was roasting his helmet good for him. i'd do the same thing. if you dont like it then X out the video. dont be salty cuz you're not one of us.

  • @MLparamore21 then your an idiot too huh? everyone thats a fireman knows that wasn't a tentable space....if you would do the same, than your just as big of an idiot congrats on the black helmet!!!! hope you like cancer...

  • he wasn't trying to cook his helmet he was sweeping the floor below the windowsill with what looked like to be a NY roof hook to make sure no civilians were in there passed out by the window

  • Exacly :)! Oh my god i wanna be a fire fighter so badly! Best job alive.! GOING to PBCC fire academy here in florida!

  • Unfortunately if there were civilians by the window they would have been long dead after being exposed to that. At that point it was body removal.

  • @cguids37 you wouldnt know this, because it looks messy like every ff is everywhere but actually its one of their tactics/strategy plane to attack the fire. the 1st due ladder truck must do a primary search around the structure and look for civilians. if there is no civilians they would go and search for the main body of the fire. after main body of fire has been knocked down the ladder trucks will do a 2nd search for remaining fire.

  • @cguids37 plan*

  • sweeping the floor my ass. he was cooking his helmet and everyone knows it. it's a stupid move on his part. you even saw him look above so he knew it was lightning up above. pretty sad the way guys walk around beating their chests and wanting to heat up their helmets in the oven or doing shit like this.

  • @poewi98 well a black helmet obviously makes you good firefighter duh

  • thats right...or put it in the oven like the brothers over in staten island do lmao just kiddin but sometimes i wounder

  • Thats how you SEASON your helmet

  • -_- no you season your helmet by having it for years and having it in many fires

  • yea.. that was silly a bit, but My god.. Got to give him props for taking his helmet off when hes 4 feet under a fire.. thats smart thinking =/

  • That is a probie move! that and roll around in the char during overhaul lol. You know when a guy is trying to look like he had been fighting some serious fire. You know its bull shit when the guy is 4th in and he was clean going into a house fire that had been knocked down 30 minutes prior and all there is let is smoldeing trash. Then he come out and low and behold he is covered in char and his helmet is all burned up from a hot spot he put his shield right over lol, good call!

  • Haha, I thought the same thing!

  • how do you know that that was a soc guy? i couldnt tell what unit he was from.,,,, but it was obviously a cheeeesy move

  • Dude, I could just sense that the man was a soc guy. A man's intuition.

  • i think wuts dumb was this guy tryin to enter that window, obvisouly he wasnt, not yet at least, he just wanted to fry his lid. i mean come on, u guys would too if no one was lookin ..potato chipped leather helemet...RESCUEEE u kno there here when the engine has foot prints on there back lol

  • Believe me, he had no intention of making that room, he just wanted to fry his helmet. Way to make Soc look good bro. What a zero.

  • 0:57 thats a good way to get the sign of experiance on your gear

  • im gunna have to say i think he was trying to get his helmet charred up

  • Are you serious?...WTF was he thinking....obviously your not going to find anyone alive in there...good way to get yourself killed

  • now thats how you MELT a helmate!! sweet job, getting up there an putting your face in the fire! I dont know what was going on though, there chould have been a reason!

  • Back in the day, (before hoods), u knew how hot a room was by how bad your ears were burning. Wearing a hood and mask, he may have not realized just how hot it was. Its not like u can SEE thru the visor.

  • so what. if he wants to die thats on him. i respect the fdny for what they do. half the stuff they do is dumb but it also saves lives.
