The picture in the very beginning is Lam Sai Wing (Lin Shi Rong in mandarin), a famous Hung Ga master in the past. The movie is a about Lam Sai Wing, albeit partly comedy. The intro shows Lam Chun Fai, he's father was the nephew of Lam Sai Wing and was taught kungfu by Lam Sai Wing.

Only this movie is older than Once upon a time. The music is called the General's Mandate and is used alread in the early Wong Fei hung movies with Kwan Tak Hing. Therefore it kind of became "the Wong Fei Hung Song" and thus also used in later movies, including Once upon a time.

I know what you mean. His ability to "fa jing", or execute explosive power, in the very awkward positions is phenomenal. From the last part with the staff, one can see that his footwork is applicable and well trained.

I love His Hung Ga, its fluid and yet powerful. I don't think there is a name to his form, I think he created it to better demonstrate Hung Ga, because doing a form takes around 2:45 and you do really get to express a lot of the system so he used Gung Gee, Fu-hok, and Tit siu into one.

Great stuff. I have been studying Hung Gar religiously for almost two years now and I really can not get enough of this. I am pretty sure I saw Tiger-Crane and what looked like Iron Wire (at least the Dragon part at the beginning). But the 8 diagram pole was a new one. What style is that from?

5th brother 8 diagram staff is the most famous pole set of hung gar, created by the last surviving member of the yang brothers who were famous generals in china noted for their proficiency with the spear.During an ambush four brothers were killed and the fifth brother escaped to a monastery where he cut off the spear head as buddhist's did not allow sharp weapons and used the staff as a spear.
