Does this helmet's mechanism wear out easily? In other words, do you find the helmet's visor being more suseptible to wind throwing it up or down after much time? A good quality visor mechanism should wear well in this regard.

I've had the helmet 6 years and never had the wind blow it up.  I ride a Hayabusa, by the way - trust me, it's been tested.

looks easy.. unfortunately.. I've just broke one of my side pods on my RX7 corsair. this release system is a joke! I've always worn Shoei and it was just a piece of cake. I love the ARAI helmet.. but quite seriously.. this is outrageous.. just the fact that people should have to post videos to instruct how to replace a visor it is a proof that something went seriously wrong here. I changed my visor twice since I bought it..and by miracle everything went well. now it snapped... DAMN!!!

Man, I used to struggle sooooo much before watching this video. Even resorted to using butter knives to get the grey levers to come up. Now it just takes seconds for removal/installation. Thanks.

It's NOT easy at all! And those side panels break off really easy. I love Arai but that visor thing is a piece of crap!

I've had that helmet since 2004 and never broken or popped off a side panel. Maybe I'm just lucky..... ;-)

just practice! What he doesn't tell you, is that he's been practicing this since 1986. I have an Arai open face SZ-M., and I still can't get my shield on. Last one I'll ever buy. give me a shoei any day.

Yes - it does take practice.  I had a right mare with my RX7 the first time, was ok afterwards though.
