Wow! You guys seem to be in touch with nature's beautiful creatures. Would you happen to be Native American, if you don't mind me asking? Anyway, nice vids.
We are not Native American, but check out our Deer in the Yard Letters page for some wonderful words from Native Americans. See this video's "more info."
You have such interesting yard decorations. Would love to visit you someday, but I don't suppose that'll ever happen. The music on your videos is so relaxing.
Terrific video. My scrub jays are not quite as friendly as Otto and recently a third jay, an interloper, has caused quite a fuss. The pair that regularly visit me drive him off when he attempts to score a peanut from me. Great birds!
reply to kimxxxyyy re: almonds - They would take the almonds in any form, but they like to bury 99% of them in the ground to dig up later. When they eat one, they take it to a nearby tree, hold it between their claws, and break it apart easily with their beaks.
jays are pretty nice. especially the fat ones

would it be easer for the jays to eat out of your hand if you broke the Almonds up in peaces or do they like them whole?
