  • Well, he obviously thought he could do it right? Otherwise why'd he go on this show?

  • English subs PLEASE!!!

  • What did he say in Spanish in response to the Chinese question?

  • Typical lebanese fraud. Wherever you go, you can always find a bunch of lebanese who dont even know how to read yet without any shame claim to be doctors, professors, engineers and what not. And in this case, we have one who claims to be a polyglot lol.

  • @Ordoni1st What's with the Lebanese rascism. There are conmen in every country, in every race, in every society that has come before us and no doubt will come over us. I hate Islam, if your beef is against their backwards religion say "I hate their stupid religion" but not tar a whole race with the same brush. People can decide their beliefs, they can not decide their race.

  • @alpuretim yes but among the lebanese they are the norm rather than the exception. They do this with every field. People cant decide race but they sure can decide if they are going to be liars or not. I dont care what you hate and what you love. For me, christianitty is a backward religion. So what? We dont have to agree, just dont come tell me what i can and can not write.

  • El iraní se parece a Ruckauf

  • The Chinese guy said: You said you are able to speak 58 languages, and the most difficult of is the Chinese mandarin. I'd ask you a simple question: which construction on earth is the only one can be seen from moon?

  • @freegg123 cool.. i hope to speak mandarin or cantonese one day...i'm working on my italian : )

  • (Part 5)

Ziad: "Yes, where did I learn Chinese. And also in what places did I use it with ease?"

    Chinese guy: (Shakes head)

Hosts: "It seems like that was a little too hard for you."

Greek woman (in Greek): [Something about how many days does it take you to learn a language]

    Ziad: ...

Greek woman (in Spanish): "I asked him how many days [something I can't understand], which is the same question from China. The question repeated."

    Hosts: "Ah, the question repeated."

    --

    Hope this helps!

  • @jgelbart Thanks man, that was very helpful!

  • @jgelbart you got the greek wrong, she asked: how many days are you going to stay in chile?

i understood that and i barely speek greek, this Ziad Fazah is such a fake!

  • @m3tro *speak

  • (Part 4)

Russian guy (in Russian): "What day of the week is it?"

    Ziad (in Russian): "Which?"

Russian guy (in Russian): "What day of the week is it?"

Hosts: "What did he ask you?"

    Ziad: ...

Russian guy (in Spanish): "I wanted something to respond to." (laughter)

Hosts: "We have the most difficult, Mandarin Chinese."

Chinese guy (in Chinese): [At the end he asks something like "What is one thing that you enjoyed or that was hard for you to learn in Chinese?"]

Hosts: "What did he ask you?"

  • (Part 3)

    Ziad (in Farsi): [...]

Iranian guy (in Spanish): "He could read 5 percent of what the text says, 100 percent Farsi."

Iranian guy (in Farsi): "We want to know why you decided to learn Farsi."

Ziad: "Actually, he's saying that the Persian language is completely different, so the dictionary has letters completely different from any other language. Also, to be able to speak it, you have to be acquainted with its alphabets."

Iranian guy (in Spanish): "I'm sorry, I didn't ask that."

  • (Part 2)

Ziad: "She said a small percentage of people learn the Finnish language, because it is a completely different foreign language. She asked me how I feel learning this different language."

Finnish woman (in Spanish): "We've lost a lot in what I asked him."

Iranian guy (in Spanish): "I'd ask that Mr. Ziad do me the favor of reading this, please, if you could take this over there. This text replaces the second national anthem of my homeland. The official name of our language is Farsi."

  • TRANSLATION (Part 1)

Hosts: "He is a polyglot. He speaks and writes 58 languages. Since you don't believe that, we've invited to the program some foreigners who live in our country...such as a national of Finland"

Finnish woman (in Finnish): "In the whole world live about 5 million Finnish speakers. But you know actually in Finland, Finnish, Swedish and the Sami language are spoken."

    Hosts: "What did she say?"

  • I'll have to be the asshole, who'll ask for english translation/subs

  • The lips not being in sync with the sound kept fucking me up

  • What I feel now is the true definition of second-hand embarassment.

  • Stop attacking him for getting confused with 58 languages ffs

  • @KimberlyxxxTaylor then he shouldn't say he's a polyglot :/

  • @jaskamiin Lol, the human brain doesnt have thecapacity to remember 58 fucking languages fluently bitch, god let him be confused he's only human

  • @KimberlyxxxTaylor wow..didn't really expect that. but as @rihards laclplesis said- he doesn't Understand all of them. granted- they probably didn't speak to him in the ones he's MOST fluent in- but the Russian question especially- as a non native speaker of russian- has NO difficult grammar- the first words learned, almost...

  • @jaskamiin Mayve Russian was his weakest......

  • @KimberlyxxxTaylor out of 58 languages, including Balochi, Fijian, and a language from Aruba, I doubt one of the six UN languages gave him trouble.. he also claimed to have known russian variants such as Kyrgyz and Mongolian.

so before you call me a bitch and stick up for him... It's nothing less than impressive to be able to speak even 2 languages. All I am saying is: if you claim to speak one- you better be able to speak it.

  • @KimberlyxxxTaylor I disagree that humans can't learn that much. There are MANY other polyglots who can speak more that many languages. BUT Maybe it's true Russian is his weakest or he got confused with the vocabulary. IF it's true, I disagree with @jaskamiin Being a polyglot is not about automatic/immediate communication. It's about being ABLE to identify and communicate correctly (at whatever speed) when he identifies it.

  • @ThisIsNoise17 Yh lol maybe he was under pressure and confused...but I dont believe people can speak 50+ languages fluently at all , or even 50 languages at a conversational level...

  • @ThisIsNoise17 yes human beings can't learn that much not because they don't have enough brains....is because they don't have enough time....it takes 2 years give or take to learn a language properly.....then communicate a at regular level without mumbling.....if he knows 58 then he should be dead.....he has to work,he has to eat...go out and do something besides learning language all of his life...therefore it is impossible.

  • @cek128 define "properly". Im not talking FLUENCY here. Not in an exact sense, at least. Im saying just to speak the language. Sure, Ziad Fazah claimed he could speak 58 perfectly. That is impossible, I agree. But many people learn languages within 2 to 3 months. some in under 2 weeks (up to 26 languages/year) They dont speak with the best speed/fluidity or vocabulary -theyd never match a native speaker that quick, especially learning multiple languages- but they can still communicate very well

  • @cek128 excuse me, not "Fluency" -that's more of a debatable term. more like "Native Level Proficiency". It's not possible to do that, obviously.

  • @KimberlyxxxTaylor Hey, he's claiming he can speak those languages, so yes, we can attack him

  • @zerge69 Maybe he got confused, or was under pressure. Either way, he's still a superpolyglot if he can't speak Russian or what not

  • Comment removed

  • Dale Bam Bam!!!

  • what a fake. serves him well for being a show off.

  • i don't even understand any single word said in this video

  • @ainghaniftube Lmao

  • How many languages does he know the word for "busted" in? :)

  • leave it to the chinese to mention the great wall

  • chantópata jaja

  • guys stop criticizing him! he knows 50 something languages and he can't speak all of a em in an hour I would get confused 2 his only human! plus when you get tested to prove if ur a polyglot or not , thy ask u to speak read and write a language a day, only ONE.

  • Comment removed

  • If you're a *true* polyglot, it's possible to switch back and forth between multiple languages. Trust me, I don't claim to know as many languages as him, I just speak a modest number of four, but I can switch between those languages within the same minute on command with absolute ease.

He's just a showoff who got busted so you don't need to defend him ;)

  • @BloodySmile I totally agree, not that I in some way am going to show off, but I also can switch from one to another language as you, but even polyglots can make mistakes eh? I speak 6 languages, but makes some mistakes ><

  • @dramaworld5 you shouldn't claim you know a language if you can't even tell when that language is being spoken. he thought the russian question was in croatian.

  • What a fake.....the Russian question was the easiest question there is!!!!!

Lesson: Learn languages, but don't learn them to show off, cause one day, you'll get your ass busted.

  • @37rrga I agree, but it's less about learning them to "show off", just that people who learn them to show off use the lazy way and don't really learn them.

  • He knows many languages... But he doesn't speak or understand them spoken or read, which autoamatically keeps him from being oficially called a polyglot.

  • He got trolled by the Chinese guy. And I speak Chinese natively, and I understand basic Spanish. This guy is a joke.

  • it's sad for some reason...TT

  • jackass:D this was so easy question in Russian :D

  • It's not fair to judge him by this video. He has to study for sometimes before speaking. He was taken by surprise that day.

  • @zedasilva3 That's the whole point, claiming to know a language fluently is one thing, but if you actually knew a language fluently you wouldn't need to study before speaking. I don't study before speaking English.

  • @johndough08g Neither do I, but we have to keep in mind that English is a language that we use in our everyday life, and the languages he was tested with were not of his everyday usage. I could speak Spanish five years ago, but as I am not in touch with it anymore I just cannot speak it. If I study it for a while, I'm sure I'll be able to to it. Not using a language makes it harder to speak. For example, there's a Japanese soldier from WW2 that was captured by the Soviets and was only able to ..

  • @johndough08g ,,, return to his homeland in the past decade. This guy wasn't able to speak Japanese anymore. And there's more. I don't know if you know it, but in 1908, my country, Brazil, recieved tons of Japanese immigrants that contributed largely to our nation. By the second or third generation, the ammount of Japanese speakers decreased almost to zero, due to not using the language.... I think I made my point. Cheers, God bless you!

  • @zedasilva3 uh no, the guy said he knows 58 languages, it doesn't say he once knew 58 languages, therefore it is not the same.

  • I wonder how many languages he knows the word for "busted" in?

  • Fail!

  • He lives in Brazil, so i'm sure thats where he acquire the habit of selling himself for more than he's worth...

  • @QueXCee

Even a Arab bitch like yourself must realise from this video that this Muslim faggot is just another faggot Arab Muslim lying. He was embarrassed and humiliated on prime time TV in Chile!! What a joke... Arabs are losers I knew this was fake. You guys are not able to get out of the middle ages.

  • @BennyDACHO wow calm the fuck down you racist faggot. It SHOULD not matter by race or skin but in your fucked up redneck mind i geuss it does.

  • @DeLeonDeewreck Fuck you, all the Mexicans in the video are laughing at the Chinese guy, who's the racist fucked up loser now?

  • EPIC, EPIC fail... Typical Arabs lying.

  • How embarassing!!! lol

  • Li scias nek Esperanton!

  • i wonder if he can speak Klingon

  • What a joke, I'm just beginning at greek and could understand what she asked basically. He knows nothing of greek for sure, lol.

  • He doesn't care about humility, just look at all of his you tube videos he has posted.

  • From what I see Ziad claims to speak a number of Slavic languages but failing to understand such a simple sentence in Russian casts doubt that he really knows the other Slavic languages. In my case I speak Polish, Russian and Serbo-Croat and find it easy to communicate with anyone in the remaining 10 or so (depends where you divide dialects and languages) other Slavic languages.

  • Hahahhahaha hahah

  • I wonder how he would react to receiving a request to show his Chinese skills off to the People's Republic of China?

  • poor guy can't take anything other than praise, go to his youtube videos srcforeignlanguages, he has deleted almost all the comments on his 2 minute videos

  • this was a set up

  • Wow... what a divine talent. God really made sure you effing failed in life.

  • This guy reminds me of so many self proclaimed "polyglots" on Youtube like the user "Glossika".

  • Comment removed

  • I don't see why they should criticize him, there's nothing wrong he did, maybe he didn't learn the Russian very intensively ! What's wrong with ye people these days

  • @TheOneThtWill :) It is exactly what they SHOULD do. He walks around claiming he can freely speak, read and understand all these languages when clearly he doesn't. It is not an excuse.. he learned one or another language intensively or not :) I am fluent in 4 languages, i know a bunch of languages at a very decent level and about a dozen i understand and can read, but i would not go and claim i speak them all. He clearly lies. Either prove you really know the language or don't claim that :)

  • Muy buenos los aportes de Zamorano, eh?

  • the russian guy said very clearly a very simple question, "what day of the week is it today?" if he can't understand that, it's safe to say he doesn't speak russian. then again, maybe it's just not 1 of his 58 languages.

  • This is not the true Ziad Fazah, this likely a impostor!

  • it's exaggerated for sure, but It's safe to say he's fluent in at least half of those 58

  • I get the distinct impression that this man can only speak Spanish.

  • Well, he can't speak all 50 something languages fluently ... so what? I speak 3 languages, German, English and Japanese. Though I'm living almost 5 years in Japan, I'm still not able to understand everything. Kudoz to that guy.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is a fucking liar. Can't even read Farsi in his own native alphabet, let alone speak Farsi. Typical Lebanese Christian.

  • This guy is a fucking liar. Can't even read Farsi in his own native alphabet, let alone speak Farsi .

  • lol

  • SHUT THE HELL UP ALL OF YOU!

    You think you're so better?!

I'd like to see you speak 50 different languages, even if they weren't thoroughly fluent.

  • @LambFollower I speak a amorphous composite form of over 50 langauges, doesn't everyone?

  • NEVER FIGHT A BATTLE YOU CANT WIN!

  • how is that even possible?

  • i feel bad for him

  • What a fraud. I'm far from fluent in Russian, but that was about as basic a Russian sentence you could have, and he read it so slow: "What day of the week is it today?" "Какой сегодня день недели?" (Not sure of my spelling, but it's okay, at least I understand the guy!) To which I would reply, "Сегодня - вторник." "Today is Tuesday."

This douche oughta be slapped around a bit. Even someone who knows just "a few basic words" in Russian should be able to understand that.

  • ese tio ni habla castellano

  • I feel kinda bad for him. That must've been hard to be there so embarassed on tv. But if you think about it. 1) He hasn't even used some langauges in 20 years. He probably was profiicient in Farsi or Chinese at some point. And 2) they probably did try to make it as hard for him as they could to test his skills. Kind of like how in high school, so many students try learning a language, but a few years later, they forget it all. 20 years would definitely be enough to ruin proficiency for him.

  • Jack of all languages, master of none.

  • what the fuckkk- he couln't understand anything. poor stupid mannnn.

    asna siki, yana runtoooo

no pudo entender nada. pobre tonto

  • OK so he looked bewildered. But Finnish, Persian, Russian, and Mandarin are all reputed to be pretty tricky (in fact, I understand that Finnish and Mandarin are amongst the most difficult of all languages for a learner who is not a native speaker of a related idiom). He WAS set up, I think. But he did ask for it by claiming greatness and agreeing to appear on TV.

  • **By common languages I meant Russian and Mandarin Chinese. He claims to know over 50 languages fluently but can't respond to "What day is it ?" in Russian; what a fraud!

  • Comment removed

  • @johndough08g there's hundredsof languages out there he just happens to know more than you

  • @wellivea1 Actually, he doesn't, and according to this video, my Chinese and Russian is quite a lot better than his.

  • He set himself up for a fall here. The programme makers were obviously going to seek out the most difficult or obscure languages on which to test him. Still, if one claims to be "the greatest" one has to be able to back that up.

  • @Boingusboingus Actually they asked him easy questions in common languages and he still has a hard time. So much for the greatest lol

  • If theres a God why dosnt everybody speak the same language?

  • @gra22 pt 3 - God took one look and said, "One people, one language; why, this is only a first step. No telling what they'll come up with next—they'll stop at nothing! Come, we'll go down and garble their speech so they won't understand each other." Then God scattered them from there all over the world. And they had to quit building the city. That's how it came to be called Babel, because there God turned their language into "babble." From there God scattered them all over the world.

  • @gra22 pt 2 - They said to one another, "Come, let's make bricks and fire them well." They used brick for stone and tar for mortar. It so happened that as they moved out of the east, they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled down. Then they said "Come, let's build ourselves a city and a tower that reaches Heaven. Let's make ourselves famous so we won't be scattered here and there across the Earth." God came down to look over the city and the tower those people had built.

  • @gra22 pt 1 - Very good question mate! I've copied and pasted a passage from the Bible, I hope it helps! (It's about the Tower of Babel)

    Genesis 11:1-9 (The Message)

"God Turned Their Language into 'Babble'"

At one time, the whole Earth spoke the same language. It so happened that as they moved out of the east, they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled down.

  • epic fail ever !

  • @GuitarHeroFuko why fail?

  • SI LO QUEMARON , PERO NO ENTIENDO, YA QUE DICEN QUE EL ESTA EN EL RECORD GUINESS

  • its impossible to know 58 languages, he must know basic words of eachone.

  • I can't help but think that Ziad is faking his understanding of these languages. He pretends to understand but then when he couldn't respond to "What day is it?" in Russian, he throws a tantrum like a 5-year-old kid, claiming that the language is Croatian and not having used the language for more than 20 years. If you claim to speak Russian and Croatian fluently, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal even if they did test you in Croatian. What an effing loser.

  • @weneedfreedomnow Did he really think it was Croatian? I couldn't hear that part...

  • Irkijerky! Hanglevottom zhiswee shungshra... ahshd shds LIENG VASH-RUH-TARDY methunkles.

  • Messofanti :D

  • das ist lächerlich! You don´t make such claims unless you live those languages!! It should be inside you like the blood in your veins. Otherwise you are just an object of mockery like this man!!

  • He has some basic notions in several languages, but that doesn't mean that he speaks them any fluently. Sorry mate, you need to be more modest and focus on a smaller bunch of languages you can really handle.

  • what for a crap is this person - he has no ideea / I speak 4 langaues - but I don write/read/speak and understand them - not like this asshole

  • @dm1085

So what's your point? Why is he an "asshole" exactly?

  • @MariusSemeonOrtiz The fact that he got a world record for a lie? Yeah, that seems it.

Para los que no hablan inglés: (He still believes and thinks he's the greatest polyglot in the world... he has an account on Youtube called "srcforeignlanguages". He hasn't learnt anything...)

  • @SaimDI quería decir "que no hablan español"

  • @SuperMiguelon123 AGREGALE QUE EL SIENDO DE LIBERIA, SE EXPRESA MUY BIEN EN CASTELLANO!!!!

  • oMG, This is terrible! The man didn't know a lick of what the others were saying! I admire his courage to be on Tv despite ridicule.

  • As someone who knows Arabic to a decent degree, I can tell you that reading a script that looks like the one he was tested with is difficult if you haven't had exposure to that style of writing. Normal Arabic/Farsi looks like this: الخط العربي العادي بيطلع هيك .

  • The stuff he had to read was written much more flowery and more like calligraphy, so that might be why he had trouble with reading it. I can't read handwritten Arabic or calligraphy, but I can read typed text easily.

in this video they OBVIOUSLY test him in

Finnish then Farsi then (sounds slavic?) then Chinese then Greek (GREEK IS SOOOOO COOL!)

  • He proven good just for 1.-Arabic 2.-Portuguese 3.-Spanish 4.-English Pending 54 MORE!!!!! :(

  • epic fail.

  • some day I'm gonna beat him at languages haha

  • @BMtodaP I know somebody who has beat him at languages spoken....

  • Genius!

  • no mamz! k oso!!!! jajajajajajajaja io despues d eso m suicidaba jajajajajaja

  • The guy is full sh!t! He doesn't understand simple sentences!

  • do you know how many languages does he know??? he can't fully understand all of them

  • I think he claims to know 56 languages! And I think if he claims to know a language, then he should be able to at least understand simple sentences. And he couldn't understand simple ones even from major languages! He couldn't even properly read Persian, even though it is very close to his own language which is Arabic! And a guy asks him time in Russian, and he couldn't understand that, even though the other guy was saying it very clearly and slowly and for several times as well!

  • Phonetically he was struggling with phonetically close languages to his own, and imagine how hard for him it should be to be able to speak Eastern Asian languages which he claims to know as well.

  • I know many Koreans who speak both their own language and Russian pristinely, have learned English well, and are studying a Romance/Germanic English. None of them are over 20.

  • I am sure some people are talented at learning languages, and it usually makes it easier if you are exposed to a situation when you need to know several languages for different reasons. Nowadays, English is a necessity if you want to be part of world community.

Where as with Russian, it can be personal reasons.

I think you might have misunderstood my previous comments. I did not mean to say that you cant learn different languages from different families. What I meant is the guy is impostor.

  • Oh, I'm sorry, I only saw the latest one, and it seemed as though you were saying, "Awe, cut him some slack, it must be hard for him!" Sorry.))

  • I think you are Russian, isn't it? When you were talking about Koreans, did you mean Koreans from Korea, or did you mean Koreans who live in Russia? coz I know there are a lot of them in Russia! So, your Korean friends only had to learn English, as part of school program, makes sense now. I was thinking why a Korean person would learn Russian, now it is clear!

  • Bone, mi same nenion komprenis, kiojn ili diris.

    =P

  • Viva chile... quien desenmascaró a este wn

  • This is completely bullshit. Even if I respect his try. I even think is says on Wikipedia about this guy that he asks the TV hosts what languages that will be required and asked about so he studies them like a week before. I think that's not really fluency.

  • @Clavin29 If u google his name, u'll find that he does that with every TV show. One would go insane and barely enjoy life constantly reviewing all those langs. I should know as I too go through the same dillemma; however, I'm not going to put myself out there on TV as I do not like the limelight nor do I find any reason to show off. I am humble enough to keep my talents to myself.
