Quick question... I have a corn snake, like these here, and he is about a year and a half old. If I do get another snake, say another corn snake, or a ball python, will they fight if i put them together in the same tank???
@JHowle0495 you could introduce them but ud have to do it carefully and it would be best with another corn (im unsure how other species of snake would react) best to introduce them on neutral territory and make sure the viv is plenty big enough. Also personally i would get the snake sexed by a professional and get one of the opposite gender for it to go with. As far as i know male/ female pairs get on very well, possibly 2 females may work too, corns arent usually territorial. hope this helps

just a tip...dont feed two snakes in the same tank thats why he missed he reacted to the scent and movement ( his own ) also sometimes even if you feed em by hand they can get hold of the same item ..then it gets tricky .....nice snakes by the way

@marthenmania thank you for your comments you are obviously a dedicated keeper and have success the way you keep them .the only reason that i commented was to misakenly give a litle advise no critsism intended. as i have seen this reaction before its usualy a feeding response.I am a member of the I H S and kept snakes for over 20 years many spent as a zoo keeper .i keep snakes seperatly as its easier to feed but this is my way. as long as it works for you then thats good too.
@marthenmania It's not a good idea to keep them together. I used to house a litter together until the day I fed them and 20 minutes later found the tail of one baby sticking out of its sibling's mouth, it was covered in drool and mucus when I pulled it out.
@RikuAbyss Still alive, but confused looking with its little tongue flicking. Unfortunately there was a problem with that litter of babies. They were all eating but then I went to university in Aberystwyth in Wales (I live in Ireland) and I took the babies with me to sell them to a pet shop. 4 of the 8 stopped eating and never properly ate again, 7 of the 8 babies ended up dying and the survivor escaped before Christmas 2010. They were 2008 babies.
Not a good idea to keep two corn snakes together, sadly. They've been known to cannibalize, as you've gotten on film yourself. Just google "Corn snake cannibalism" and you should get your proof. I'd suggest moving them as soon as possible, to avoid any mishaps like this in the future. If this were to happen, only one ate the other instead of eating itself, you could very well lose both.
@LokiSpitzAris this was my 4th nest and i now have another and been doing this for 5 years i never saw a snake eat another snake . . if yours did so i sugest feeding a bit more or more often . . one pinky a week will do. . . the only time i had to come in between was when i wasnt paying attention during feeding and they grabbed eachother . . other then that corn snakes are very social snakes and will not eat brothers or sisters :P

@LokiSpitzAris ow and btw i have 14 baby snakes at the moment in the same container and they all cuddle together . . they are 4 months now and wil stay together untill i find them a good home . . they never attack eachother. i have 4 terariums . . 1 with 14 baby's . . .1 with 2 elaphe gutatta(adults) . . 1 with 3 crossbreads elaphe guttata/lampropeltis(adults) . . and 1 with 4 crossbreads elaphe guttata/lampropeltis(adults) and i feed them al at the same time.And they never attack eachother.

yup I've seen a person beat a cat to death with a large stick, and laugh at it with his friends. I beat the tar out of him, but regardless it was far worse than a snake biting it's own tail.

@CRAIGP1992 my snakes were in a frenzy . . of screen there are 12 more babys having dinner . . so this was the last one to get a pinky so it just grabbed whatever was closest that smelled like one . . . and the snake itself was closest by so he grabbed his back . . LOL
