Go to the cathedral stage and have one of those sticky imps steal it from ya. Then you can buy it it back from the merchant gargoyles at 100%. It's a glitch but it's the ONLY way you can recharge it.

or if you have a ps2 slim you can play a burned copy of it with the swap trick you can also play burned copies on the fat ps2 but its a little more complicated then with the slim

maybe its because I was pretty young when I played this, but I always felt kinda bad for the dragon after you beat him. He just wants to be left alone in peace and you go in there dropping boulders on him :(
