  • Sol you are not even on the same page as Brent. Heck not even in the same book!! Keep practicing kid. Brent is The man!

  • Somebody's been listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan! haha. Looks like Brent Mason was sitting back and having fun and letting the kid get a little exposure to music industry.

  • great player. plays circles around younger guys. but Brent MASON IS KING OF TELECASTER AND CANT BE TOUCHED BY NO ONE. THIS KID COULD BE A CLOSE 2ND IN ABOUT 15-20 YRS. BRENT YOU ARE ELVIS OF COUNTRY GUITAR. PERIOD.

  • so glad i found these videos miss him playingwith jake

  • Umm the kids pretty good, but " filling brets shoes one day"!! really? letrs not carried away

  • Very good lot of notes but lacking in Soul and maturity. Got the chops and licks down to a tee but the feeling will come when he sings the Blues one day.

  • He's young. SO, cut him some slack for getting carried away. Also, Brent wants to let him have his day in the sun here. Brent is the star over and over for many shows/sessions over the course of years, and I would bet he is happy to let Sol show off some. Great playing, and best luck for a bright future.

  • The only thing that really bothers me is that kid is good and he just still the show and won't let brent play up till the end and I don't like this attidute because he is not a team player no matter how good he is. And If guys metion SRV before was nothing like that he always was humble and never stepping on other people like SOL does here!!! Arrogance is all that is to say.

  • @Deadlock3386 You are terribly mistaken about Sol. He is one of my good friends and a very humble guy at that. He's helped me a lot along the way as a guitar player too and praised a lot of my own playing before. Hes' given me the confidence boost plenty of times to continue trying to further my ability. So don't judge somebody on one gig because Sol could honestly be one of the most humble guys I have ever met in my life not to mention talented.

  • @OceanOfOilFilms I agree I don't know him as you do...no argue about that. But if you look closely in the video brent wan't to play, like several times and he looks around and say's like hey his really good but when it's my turn. And frankly If you imagine yourself in brent's shoes how would you feel? Ooo he is probably honored...NO he feel unapreciated. Witch I think is wrong because the major subject in this video is brent - period. A real guitar player on any level sould SHARE the stage!!!

  • @Deadlock3386 Yeah, but knowing Sol I've met Brent plenty of times as well. Brent being a more experienced player is trying to hand over the torch to a younger guitarist who will be filling in his shoes one day. People came for Brent and still got him, but Brent is also trying to give Sol a chance to leave an impression and arrogance and cockiness is not what Brent wanted people to think. Brent's given Sol a lot of solo room in songs and other gigs besides this one as well. Its not as you think.

  • @Deadlock3386 Jealousy is a very bad thing, Deadlock.... Brent is mentoring Sol and is intentionally letting him have the stage. Sol is an amazing player!

  • @Esbenmad man, I am the last person who will be jealouse... I really apreciate other players and give total respect to any level of playing. Sol is a good player (in my opinion) no as amazing as brent!!! mentoring a student is an important thing to do as long as the student pays proper respect to his mentor. You mite think Im an old fasion guy... but as a teacher for many students a coporation is nesecery with respect and not whats going on in this video. My opinion only.

  • @Deadlock3386 Seems to me Brent is having a good time and playing just as much as he wants to on here. He isn't jumping all over the kid because there is an organ and he doesn't need to be going crazy on rhythm guitar. Sorry, I don't agree with your analysis at all, but you are entitled to your opinion. I think the kid has a lot of talent, but OK so he overplays - understandably. At least he has the capability and the bottle to step up there with Brent and Co. Good luck to him.

  • @Deadlock3386 I have no idea what you teach but it sure isn't spelling.

  • @howebber1 english is not my native language but besides that I speak 3 more languages so misspling is part of the deal. Moreover this is not a poam but a damn strait comment. If u don't have anything else to do so maybe youll be kind enough to share your teachings. Peace

  • @Deadlock3386 Well, English is MY native language. Unfortunately, I only speak two other languages but, I also read and write them fluently. That too was part of the deal. As far as teaching, I did exactly that for over 40 years so I've earned the right to do whatever I want to do and, like you, I enjoy listening to fine talent. Peace to you too.

  • ...can't listen to this song unless Albert is singin it... overplaying too... very talented though... that'll come with experience...

  • Saw Sol play in Carshalton England - in a pub called The Windsor Castle Totally blew my mind! just incredible. Amazing.

  • Sooooooo gooood !

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Not only does Sol play exceptionally, he sings pretty good too...There was a time in the past when another young man showed such promise...alas we lost him too young in his life...Stevie Ray Vaughn to name just One of many~~~

  • Dude is a freak of nature.

You can't possibly criticize someone this age with this level of talent unless you are just jealous, which we all should be.

Kid is a star in the making, period.

  • he got rid of bot of those...he got a paul cochrane timmy as well

  • analogman King of tone...

  • so when do we get to hear you jam with Brent and the rest of the Players?

  • i dont think brent thinks that because he spent a lot of time and effort to get sol over here from england, you sound like someone who is either jealous or ignorant of sol

  • @barryebarnes absolutely shameful that someone would call Sol a 'riff player'. At his age, playing with brent mason and mastering those skills? shut the fuck up!

  • And at his age, you are expecting him to play like a seasoned verteran who has been playing 40 plus years?? Get over yourself~

  • I think Paul Franklin plays the best solo in this song, hands down.... doesn't flash his balls everywhere. Great tone.... beautiful harmonic and sneaky rhythmic content, tasteful for sure.

The guitar guys are great of course.... There's a TON of wankin' going on, as it should be I guess being that this is "The Players." Try wanking in smaller doses. It might actually sound bigger and say more.

  • Is Sol using amp distortion or a pedal in this vid?

  • Met Sol at 3rd & linsleys this past tues night. I was there to hear Brent Mason and the PLayers and Sol did a song and Brent introduced him as the best guitarist in the world under 25. Trust me this kid progresses in leaps and bounds from month to month. It's ridiculous. He pulled some licks I had honestly never seen anyone do. The best was strumming behind the nut the tapping random harmonics then going back and bending behind the nut to create some amazing sounds!!

  • The kid is really good, but what amsees me is the way brent acts. When a guitar player is good they don't feel the need to outshine, they just go with the groove and when it's their turn "there it is". Watch this kid as he matures, gonna make some noise!!!!

  • He's f**kin pretty amazing! He just needs to learn a little stage etiquette & incorporate some dynamics. You can't shoot your load, all the time. Peaks & Valleys. Keep it real - don't turn out to be the Yngwie of country, kid!

  • I agree. It's as if he's suffering from a case of Brad Paisleyitis. Then again, he's just a kid.

  • LOL!

  • i'm pretty sure the kid cut off the bass solo.

    Poor bass player

  • I just love the look on Brent's face.. He's so proud of him..!!

  • aye he is grinning like a Cheshire cat

  • amazing

  • funny watching brent play real blues and take a short solo just like a country player short and sweet, too bad it was not longer.

  • man! You got the blues! love it.

  • I wish Stevie was still alive, so he could see Sol play.

  • I know people will disagree with me, but I can't stand his voice. He's an absolutely tremendous guitarist though.

  • powerful feeling, powerful voice, you got the blues...

    sucess dude !

  • That my friends is music. Brent knows exactly when, where and what to play at exactly the right time. His timing is like none I've ever heard and I have heard everybody.

  • Holy cow, Sol, awesome stuff!

  • im jelous

  • mate - your ridiculose. all over it like a bad rash.

    awsomexxxx

  • the vocals are a little reminiscent of smoking JOE!

  • haha. just thinking the same thing.

  • not just two.. sorry, but ALL of you there... playin was so great.... kudos to all there

  • cool.. fckn awesome d two of them....

  • I love that Brent laughs as Sol starts his solo... You're a true "cool cat" Brent!

  • brent is such a gracious player letting sol have a little spot light time. i have never heard any lick that brent has played on any song that didn't sound like it should not go there. he knows what fits and what doesn't. something very few guitar players can say except for reggie young. sol, take note lad,TASTE IS THE KEY! good job!!!!

  • sol you fucking god. i love/hate you.

  • i think he has better licks than brent mason. can't sing worth a shit though.

  • Haha epic fail my friend. You haven't heard anything then. =]

  • vocals do suck yeah. He'd better get himself a decent singer. I hope he will. I guess it all depends on whether his ego will allow it. Let's face it, he didn't get to be this good if he wasn't ambitious and practiced his arse off. Let's wait and see how much wisdom he and or his coaches have...

  • davvero un mostro di bravura!!

  • . . .!. . .

  • NIIIIIIICE! keep on going

  • OOOHHH YYYEEAAHH!!!! Show it no mercy! Great job Sol. Thanks for the post.

  • Great playing Sol. Watching your star rise. Keep it up.

  • Amazing, keep on rocking! ;)

  • go on Sol !!!!!

Your a great player, I think a few years ago you phoned my band leader for a job in Birmingham ??? Pat McGrath from Saltcreek ???

  • excellent work sol, Mark

  • Sol I was at this show and man did it kick Ass. Wow it was great!!!! I came all the way from ohio it was worth every mile!! Keep jamming Bother
