actually i got another way

go to world 1-4

before the checkpoints with the pipes that spawns goombas,hit the red koopa walking on the bricks then carry him to the green pipe BEFORE THE END! once a goomba spawns you will then throw the shell then face left,then jump and watch koopa get those 1-ups for you! reply to me whether it works!

and also,thumbs up if you have tried this method and it works!

How to do on Wii: Go to level 2-3 I believe, or the dark one. go to the end with the stairs, jump on the koopa, pick him up, stand on the 3rd step so the turtle is on the 4th one, let him wake up in ur arms and hurt u once, then jump and it should work

im not saying this trick doesnt work but i'm on my 6th time trying and I can never get the timing right. I do everything as the vid and other comments say; I get the shell as Super Mario/Fire Mario, Ihold it on a stair, the Koopa awakes, I let go of Y and jump... BAM, I'm killed by the shell or miss it completly. I've tried jumping as the Koopa is near the edge (like the vid says) but I never land on it. I really hope I can get this sooner or later, it seems to be easy for everyone but me :/

Just wait for the koopa shell to automatically awaken (meaning that you should not throw it). You'll take some damage when the koopa comes back out of his shell (meaning that you should not be regular mario or mini-Mario when attempting this as they both die in one hit). Immediately after you get hit, let go of the grab button and hit the jump button ONCE (do not press any other button...

Mario should jump straight up and come straight back down, but on the way he will hit the koopa (putting it back in its shell) and bounce back up. When he comes down again he will hit the shell and cause it to bounce against the block and then he will bounce back up. When he comes down the shell will bounce back towards him and he'll land...
