if it works for me then it works. If it doesn't work for you that does not mean that it does not work. Part of it working is that you have to open yourself up to it. Give it a chance. If you don't want to heal then don't hold others back, because what is quite clear about science these days is that if you have money you can get someone to prove whatever you want them to prove. Thats how it works.
@RebornHammer I don't think anybody has a problem with your comment. Whatever works for you, that is fine. The problem is that some people go beyond that and make statements like "homeopathy works". Full stop. That's a statement that makes a testable assertion. That's where science comes in. It can be tested, and has been tested, and has turned out to not be true.
@murdocha lots of stuff that has been tested in the pharmaceutical industry ends up killing hundreds of thousands of people eg VIOX. and some of the stuff that is tested and is shown to work like Prozac ends up causing murder suicides. So I am wondering how trustworthy the scientists really are these days. Also a man replied to the million dollar Randi experiment and Randi did everything he could to prevent the experiment from taking place. So I don't agree that it has been tested and failed.
@RebornHammer You are arguing different points here, don't get them mixed up.
1) Pharmaceuticals have side-effects. Absolutely. No disagreement, that's why they have such long disclosure. It's informed consent. This doesn't mean homeopathy works
2) Randi tried to keep someone from the $million challenge. Don't know, do you have evidence?
Randi's challenge isn't the only testing homeopathy has gone through. It has been tested many many times and has consistently shown no effect beyond placebo.
@murdocha I am not aware that PROZAC has a disclosure that says "may cause you to murder your family and then commit suicide" or that VIOX had a disclosure that said " you may die of a heart attack suddenly" Evidence for the person who was held back from proving to Randi is hard to provide since I can't figure out how to post links on here. I tried tinyurl and YOUTUBE will not allow me to post it. Can you help?
@RebornHammer I don't think you quite understand. Regardless of whether pharmaceuticals have side effects or not (and they do), or whether you think James Randi is a lying sack of shit (and you probably do) they still have no effect on whether homeopathy works (and it doesn't).
@murdocha and how do you know that it does not work? because of some peer review studies? sorry but that is not proof anything to me. As I said don't worship peer review as some people worship God. It would be the same kind of mistake.
@RebornHammer So, how do you seek to find the truth? That is what science is about. The peer review process is there to find flaws in logic, method, statistical analysis and to guide the process towards the truth. It would be interesting to hear what alternative you have for this process.
@murdocha unfortunately I don't know of an alternative. But I would suggest that being so rigid does not help us to find the truth. Saying only peer review and nothing else may get in the way of the truth.
@RebornHammer But if you are dismissing peer review, you've got to have an alternative. "It works for me" is not an alternative. The scientists working on the Opera neutrino anomaly found data that doesn't fit the model. They published it and invited other scientists to examine their processes and procedures to try to determine if the data is correct. That's what science is, a collaboration. It doesn't mean all scientists agree.
@murdocha "Modern science should indeed arouse in all of us a humility before the immensity of the unexplored and a tolerance for crazy hypotheses." -Martin Gardner
find a link to the whole story put this quote into google to find it. "Mr Vithoulkas challenged this statement and with this idea a new experiment was conceived that would prove that the highly potentized remedies could actually have a biological effect upon the human organism."
This guy was challenging the Randi million dollar challenge to prove that homeopathy works. Unfortunately at a crucial time in the experiment Randi became ill and was not going to be available for 6 months. How convenient, maybe Randi needs a remedy, to help him not chicken out.
peer review proved PROZAC, but look at what happened in the real world.“In 1992, Bill Forsyth, a retiree living in Hawaii, was prescribed Prozac for his anxiety and depression. The next day, he called his doctor to say he felt 200 percent better. The day after, however, he requested to be taken to a psychiatric hospital, where doctors continued giving him the drug. Eleven days later, he returned home, stabbed to death his wife of 37 years, then impaled himself on a kitchen knife.”
peer review is crap. It is fabricated often involves bribery and corruption and it cannot be trusted. If homeopathy works for you then why should anyone stop you? Homeopathy is inexpensive compared to pharmaceutical drugs. Peer review studies are for weak people who need someone to hold their hand. Homeopathic remedies are gentle without side effects, the same cannot be said about pharmaceuticals. But go ahead and get some side effects if that is what you want.
@RebornHammer You are making a lot of assertions here with little or no evidence to show for it. Do you have a better process than peer review?
Peer review is there for peers with knowledge in your discipline to try to break down your work and show errors. That's how science works. "It works for me" isn't science.
Are homeopathics gentle? Yes, as gentle as water...which is what it is.
@murdocha You don't need a homeopath to take homeopathic medicine. If you stay at the right potency it is safe to prescribe a remedy for yourself. If you have chosen the correct remedy you will notice your physical health and emotional health will improve. Unfortunately I cannot suggest something better then peer review, other then stop worshiping peer review as some people worship God. It is not perfect and likely never will be. So expecting everything to be proven is a lost cause.
@RebornHammer With all due respect, please don't put words in my mouth. I don't worship peer review, it is a tool. You should probably check out the column in Scientific American by Dr. Bradley Voytek who states: "The scientific peer-review process increases the probability that the scientific literature converges–at long time scales–upon scientific truth via distributed fact-checking, replication, and validation by other scientists." I never said it was perfect.
@murdocha water is not pure. even the purest water has impurities. One type of water or another depending on its impurities might improve your health.
@RebornHammer Okay, now you're arguing in my area. Yes, all water has impurities. There is certainly evidence that naturally occurring chemicals in water (don't call them impurities, that's obfuscation), may have beneficial or detrimental effects. Fluoride and Arsenic come to mind. In these cases, the chemicals are actually there, in measurable amounts and have a measurable effect.
Homeopathy is the chemical equivalent of a ghost. It's not there and it doesn't do anything.
@murdocha what is measurable to you and me is not what we are talking about. If something cannot be measured by a human does that mean it is not there? Your worship humans as if they are God. Humans are not perfect and cannot measure everything, nor will they ever.
@RebornHammer Where do you come up with this stuff? You're making so many strawmen it looks like a scarecrow convention. Please indicate where I stated that humans are perfect. We're not, that's why we use the scientific method, to control for things like bias and subjectivity. That's also what peer review is for.
If something cannot be measured, that just means we can't measure it. Does it mean it's not there? Maybe. How would we be able to tell? It's like Russel's Teapot.
@murdocha when you say stuff like this "they still have no effect on whether homeopathy works (and it doesn't)." you make it sound like something is absolute. And that implies that humans are perfect. Instead you could say "I personally don't think homeopathy works because of the scientific studies that I know of, but I could be wrong because humans are not perfect, and neither is science, because science is done by imperfect humans"
@RebornHammer Wow, I think this whole subjective thing is warping the discussion, you certainly have your own reality going. I never said humans were perfect. If we were, we wouldn't need peer review. I could tell you a coin was fair, but if you flipped it once, a subjective account could say "this only lands on heads". Only after successive trials could you say it was fair or not. That is what science does. And you clearly do not understand that.
@RebornHammer Let me put this another way. To take the point to the extreme, if I told you there was an invisible golden Leprechaun riding a unicorn on my lawn, there would be no way for you to disprove it. Maybe there is, maybe there isn't, but it's not a testable assertion. It's not science.
@murdocha The way you say that sounds like you worship science. TO ME. Like science explains everything. If it's not science then what good is it. If you saw a leprechaun why should I care for you to prove it's not real. Maybe it is. If it really bothered me to listen to you talk about your leprechaun I would stop listening and walk away. I would not argue for hours and hours about it because science says it's not real. It's your leprechaun and it's very important to you.
@RebornHammer Wow, you are firmly rooted in the subjective aren't you? That's great for personal experience and I'm all for that. There's a time and place for it, though. While heroin might really work to relieve my pain, that doesn't make it a safe and effective medicine for everyone.
Ive tried to get homeopathy practitioners to give me an explanation of how the actual science behind it works. All I get is "well, by using a tiny amount of it you get the opposite effect". Yes, they have claimed that that is science, now I would really like them to prove it to me. Its simply common sense that less of an already useless remedy does not do more than said already useless remedy.
@diekontrolleure you take that back mother fucker he is the best skeptic in the world you can see him dibunk alot of assholes like profet pops a dude that sead that he coud movie things whith his mind he is a great person he has an educational fundation you ingnorat pise of shit
Most of the people who fall for this aren't stupid, just very, very, VERY desperate. They'll literally try ANYTHING, now matter how stupid or crazy it is.
You really have to witness it first hand in order to understand how desperate people can become.
i'm against homeopathy, but i'm in favor of taking all security labels out of everything... if someone is STUPID enough to fall for this Bullshit, then he deserves it... it's called natural selection.
Except ingesting a synthetic substance isn't natural. Any sort of medicine isn't natural. Clothing isn't natural. Rape and murder are natural. Saying that morals are due to evolutionary precedent is like saying that we are compelled to jump off buildings due to gravity.
@gamerunknown surprise: synthetic substances, even plastic, are obtained from natural sources. Technically speaking, everything is natural since it came from elements present in nature. Anyway, i'm not talking about morals and ethics, i'm talking about plain and simple human stupidity. If someone is stupid enough to fall for this crap, he deserves all of the consequences the choice he made will bring upon him. And natural selection is just another way to say "survival of the fittest".

@Bandershot nice shotgun method there. i'll bite for a few: 1.your MD ANDERSON bit. from the mini-study done by the doc at md anderson who is using it "These findings need replication in large studies with study designs that minimize bias." 2.which medical college? 3. b/c it's been a popular sugar pill since the 30's, the fda regulates all kinds of things people put into their bodies. 4. b/c it's a "homeopathy board" that's doing the licensing, it's within the homeopathy community. (continued)
@Bandershot 5. cuba: provide evidence it's actually "stopping epidemics." 6. "top material scientists" sorry, "rustum roy" is not a "top material scientist." 7. wItt et al: "The extent to which the observed effects are due to the life-style regulation and placebo or context effects associated with the treatment needs clarification in future explanatory studies." so basically, you've brought nothing to the table here but fluff. doesn't matter if some doctors try it, what matters is, does it work?
This has probably been pointed out in these 1095 comments before me, but that's actually the caduceus, not the rod of Asclepius at 2:45. Caduceus is a symbol for trickery. I don't think you want it associated with science based medicine.
You trully need to learn more.......I am relieved that the majority of man kind do not think like you. Humility my friend, respect and the power of not judging are only some of the things you have to study and work on.
If you are referring to Grade-A randomized, controlled trials, I agree there are not many. That however, does not mean it is not a scientific approach or that it doesn't work. And by the way, contrary to popular understanding, less than 20% of the clinical application used in mainstream biomedicine (that's right, MD's) meet this criteria.
Have you ever heard of immunology? It is based on the principle of stimulating the immune system in various ways to self limit disease (which is all medicine does anyway). Treatments and modalities are not true because they are proven. What we think of a 'scientifically proven' is a temporary state of security until the next theory comes and disproves it.
@MichaelF500 Thats not right. Most scientist say: We are standing on the collars of giants. Einstein didn't disprove Newton but improved his theories. Newtons laws are completly correct if you work with "small" masses and "small" speeds. If you build a house you can completly trust on Newtons laws. He made a fucking good theory about the world, as it were observable to his time. Even further: He developed (also Leibniz) a new kind of math which was the corner stone for people like Einstein.
@MichaelF500 How can you even begin to supposedly train your immunological system if the quantities of active principle issued in homeopathic remedies are close to (and reaching) none?
There's way more stuff wrong with your statement but that's the most critical issue.
@MichaelF500 "What we think of a 'scientifically proven' is a temporary state of security until the next theory comes and disproves it." you totally exposed yourself with this comment. please give me one established scientific theory from the past, let's say 80 years that has been "disproven." i'll wait.
I heard that it has been found by medical science that a substance does have an opposite effect in small doses, perhaps not as small as normally used by homeopaths e.g. 30c, which is incredibly dilute, but James randi should mention this. There is also the principle of 'like cures like'. An example of this is drinking coffee to relieve stress. Feel free show me research to the contrary.
@gavincostin1, it doesn't work like that. you made the claim so its you who should link the evidence to support your stance. we'll continue from there.
@somberlight I don't actually believe in homoeopathy, even though i did a diploma in it. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence for it, and i experienced patients apparently getting well, but the placebo effect is just so strong that you never know for sure whats going on. There is an argument that homoeopathy is hard to prove because each case needs to be individualised, especially with a chronic illness like type 2 diabetes, so you can't just give the same thing to 100 patients, as a test.
@gavincostin1 I think the burden is non you to show research that demonstrates that small doses create an opposite effect. Ever "heard" of the dose/response relationship?! Do you accept most things you heard as fact? I guess next you'll say everything on the internet is true.
I suggest that Mr Randi has not actually bothered to actually learn the scientific princeple of Homeopathy. He is absolutely ignorant and I pity people who blindly follow poorly researched propaganda. I'm sure drug companies revel in his tirade.
@MichaelF500 That´s the whole point of this discussion. What scientific principle of homeopathy? No homeopath is ever capable of answering that question
Gandhi, Paul McCartney, Mother Teresa, Mark Twain and other brilliant minds have defended homeopathy. 40% of British Physicians have recommended homeopathic treatments. Does the lesser-known James Randi trump all of these people? If so, why? He is a great mind but not a Physician!
@petekrusetunes I didn´t know that Gandhi, Paul McCartney, Mother Teresa, Mark Twain were all physicians. Let alone Jennifer Aniston, Liz Hurley, Victoria Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Daryl Hannah, Salma Hayek and Ruby Wax.
If they say it´s true, then it must be, right? WRONG! This is not a popularity contest, but a scientific argument
Ronald Reagan had an astronomer on his staff. Does this mean that astrology is real? Think again
FACTS: Almost every pharmacy in Germany and France stocks homeopathic remedies. Celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Liz Hurley, Victoria Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Daryl Hannah, Salma Hayek and Ruby Wax are all fans of Bach's Rescue Remedy. The most popular cold and flu medicine in France is a homeopathic medicine. India has over 120 homeopathic medical colleges, and 100,000 homeopathic physicians and practitioners. Over 100 million people in India depend on homeopathy as their main medicine.
@petekrusetunes And every pharmacy in France and Germany, as well as any western country, also carry so called "miracle" products that just don´t work, but they are great business. Again, this doesn´t prove anything.
India is home to some of the great minds of today. But it is also the home of the most pseudoreligious sects out there.
@petekrusetunes FACT: The vast majority of people in India won´t do anything important, like getting married or getting a job for example, without consulting to their astrologer of choice. Again, this is immaterial.
"Homeopathy cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment" - Mahatma Gandhi "I can’t manage without homeopathy. In fact, I never go anywhere without homeopathic remedies. I often make use of them" - Paul McCartney "The introduction of homeopathy forced the old school doctor to stir around and learn something of a rational nature about his business. You may honestly feel grateful that homeopathy survived the attempts of allopaths to destroy it." - Mark Twain
it's called 'DOUBLE BLIND', NOT 'double bind' you idiots...!! It's called that because neither the experimentor nor their subjects or their agents know which substances are the placebo and which are the actual agents being tested. They do this so that no monkey business or undue influence can occur in the study, conscious or unconscious....
What a great guy and speaker. He gave a good argument, he presented facts and he made the video interesting.. I didn't know anything about homoeopathy in till I watched this. :)
So, I don't get it.. If thousands of tests with animals show that homeopathic medicine has curing abilities, how can this guy say it's bullshit?!
Is it possible that something science can't explain can still be true, maybe?
It really seems like these scientists are like religious people. They rigidly believe in something, and turn anything that is not supported by the main rules, down.
@Dolphidood Then you have been completely fooled. Please do some research and don't think you know 'something' about homeopathy after seeing this video. This randy doesn't understand a thing about homeopathy.
@chubas41 alternativevet[dot]org/WS107-07.pdf - So you think these people are working with homeopathy and DO NOT cure any animal? Get out of your cave man, I know people are fooled easily, but obviously something is going on here. Do the research yourself and find out.
that is not a study. those are some claims by a guy. Where are the double bind studies that prove that hompeathy works? i'll save you the time: there are none. Because it doesn't work. All studies made show that it has the same effect as a placebo.
@chubas41 this is where you go wrong. the fact that theres no double binding studies that prove that homeopathy works doesnt mean it doesnt work, it only means the research u address doesnt show that it works. you can say whatever you want about it, the effects of homeopathy dont go away and it doesnt stop working when youre saying this. i would love for you to break a leg, be treated with homeopathy and youll see that your bone will recover a 100 times faster than any regular treatment could.
@dabbarMusic except you are wrong. double bind studies showing that homeopathy doesn't work, means it doesn't work. want to know why? because homeopathy is anti scientific, and because water doesn't cure anything.
@chubas41 no it doesn't mean it doesn't work. the fact that something is not provable by science doesn't mean it can't exist, most people know by now that science is only the laws of physics and since physics is not the only thing existing it can never be the complete truth.
@JejunumJake no point talking shit man, people like you should learn to not judge something before you know what its about and how it works. please just don't write here. thanks
@dabbarMusic What would a homeopathic broken bone treatment look like? A millionth part bandage to 1 part water? Or a billionth part plaster to 1 part sugar? Would a homeopathic splint be a toothpick?
@JejunumJake Olavius2 proves homeopothy to james randi, watch that.......wonder why randi wont pay up? I dont belive for one second they have that million dollars! Also want to say I agree with randi on most stuff...but that vid makes u think!
@1THETRUTH10 Fortunately, what you believe is immaterial. The million dollars have been notarized and are in bearer bonds in Goldman Sachs. See? A little research goes well beyond what anyone believe
@1THETRUTH10 I have watched the video. Interesting story to say the least. Now, to say that it proves homeopathy is a big giant leap. It is more a story of an anecdote. And it focus on trying to compare Randi with Darwin, something that I would guess, he would be proud of. But it doesn´t prove homeopathy is real at all. If this was the case, you´d suppose that a more modern experiment in a controlled lab would have given those results, and not have to depend on a story more than a century old.
@1THETRUTH10 One can´t be surprised that this so called experiment is posted on a homeopathy website. There are some big flaws, especially if you read the comment section. Randi´s test does not make you have to be printed in a newspaper at all. That´s just a typical out that many such claimants come up with. And even now, the rules of the Challenge have been make even lighter and easy. Have you read the challenge those Pakistani guys placed? It´s just nonsense, plain and simple.
@1THETRUTH10 The will give out a prize of a million rupees to anyone that can prove that homeopathy doesn´t work. See the problem here? Any simple logic will make you understand that you cannot prove a negative! So their money is safe and they know it. But they use this opportunity to just attack the person, not the fact. Ad hominem. I can make up a challenge that anyone that can prove that I don not have a pink dinosaur in my basement wins the prize. See how dumb that is?
@ebrobaru Yea I understand all that but the Randi foundtion say "prove homeopothy works and get a million dollars" ,they say it's diluted to such a point as to contain no active ingrediant and has no effect. Well that vid proves it does have an effect.....they should pay out on the evidence. This has nothing to do with proving a negative. If they were saying we'll give u a million if u prove homeopothy doesnt work...then yea that would not be possible!
@1THETRUTH10 You have to understand how homeopathy works, or claim to works. There are different types of dilutions. Usually, up to 6 times, the substance can be detected. Most of the "remedies" are diluted way more than that. If a substance can be detected, then it hardly qualifies as homeopathy. The challenge is not about being possible to detect a substance in a particular dilution. It is to see if that dilution does work. It´s a different thing
@dnnply The problem with homeopathy is not that we cannot explain the mechanism by which it works, the problem is that it doesn't work. If homeopathy was able to demonstrate an effect better than a placebo in a double blind test then scientists would be saying "That's very interesting, I wonder how that works" and working diligently to find out. Since homeopathy does not appear to do anything in well constructed tests, they don't.
@pikeamus Can you explain what happened the milisecond before the Big Bang? Exactly. Not scientifically provable. The thing is some people will never acknowledge the value of something - in this case homeopathy, if it isn't scientifically provable. Those people are ignorant and do not consider the fact that pure physical science is not the complete truth. Just the fact that you can't SEE something doesn't mean it don't exist. Homeopathy cures people every day all over the world. No point denying
"to be sure you get at least one molecule of caffeine, in the so called sleeping pills, you would have to swallow 60 swimming pools full of the pills"
on layman terms: to get 1 gram of caffeine, you would have to swallow 1,86069566 × 10^23 (186,069,566,000,000,000,000,000) swimming pools of those pills
If homeopathy would work as they claim, then drinking regular tap water would cure EVERYTHING, because it has contacted with virtually all known molecules on earth and the 'vibrations' make it 'work'. So cheers =)
Real is scientific homeopathy. It cures even when Conventional Allopathic Medicine (CAM) fails. Evidence-based modern homeopathy is a nano-medicine bringing big results for everyone
@DrNancyMalik No it isn't. And I am sure you are aware of that as well. If you are in this industry you are a fraud! There is no proof. Homeopathy is not based in science and has never passed a single test. It is water! Water has no memory! End of! I see your tag begins "Dr" lol. You need your support taken away. You are killing people, eg malaria advice? What do you recommend taking before going to a malaria infected country? That's right - water! You are causing deaths, please stop.
I thought it was difficult to be a stupid moron in both allopathy and homeopathy. Again you have proved me wrong. How can you be so stupid? That should be a new record. Asshole.
@ebrobaru All things mainstream are lies. everything that the government has it's hands in such as mainstream science, mainstream media ect. are all corrupt and this guy is just a puppet to convince everyone that there is nothing outside of the status quo. Money is the bottom line of everything mainstream therfore everything is full of conspiracy.
@ebrobaru Sure in a capitalistic society everything depends of money. However the ones that make the most money is the ones that lobby congress to be on their side. Homeopathy might be amulti-million dollar industry but big pharma is an multi- billion dollar industry . big pharma pays more in law suits than homeopathy makes profit...lol.
@guidav123 The difference is that medicines, do work. Of course it is a business. Medicines are the result of years and millions of dollars of investigation. Homeopathy, not so much. After all, how long does it take to study water?
@ebrobaru "medicinesdo work" yeah they work at giving you lots and lots of side effects that cause other problems so you will have to go get even more drugs. All those side effects is your bodies way of saying "hey that stuff isn't suppose to be in here" it sees it as poison which it is. regardless if you are a supporter of homeopathy or not doesn't matter. there is ways to cure and prevent every disease on the planet without drugs or surgery. Me and my family havent been sick in three years.
@guidav123 you would need a real doctor to do that. And of course the drugs to make the procedure painless. Again, let´s try to do that with homeopathy
@guidav123 Homeopathy has its limits. Allopathic medicine sometimes is necessary when a radical procedure needs to be done (and it depends on the patient!!! sometimes the patient responds well to the homeopathic treatment that conventional medicine is not required). I'm in the medical field and I only use natural medicine to keep myself healthy, but I wouldn't discard the conventional practice. Im so glad you've been healthy without toxic FDA drugs tho! me too lol.
@fkoff99 YOU are on the medical field? Homeopathy is NOT a "medicine field" moron. What part of that you don´t understand? I´m still waiting for my FDA check.
@ebrobaru THe FDA is a government agency which like everything else the government has it's hands in is corrupt. Its like a revolving door between those that work for big pharma and those that work for the FDA. THe FDA does not protect the consumer but rather the profits of the drug companies. I wouldn't trust the FDA as far as i could spit.
@guidav123 I see that you are one that loves conspiracy theories. The FDA is by no means perfect, far from it. But it´s what we have to regulate the industry. Medicines have to go through extensive tests before being allowed for public sale. Something that homeopathy conveniently sidesteps.
At least if a drug has problems "big pharma" can be held accountable. Again, not so for Homeopathy.
@ebrobaru haha held accountable ! yeah right. the FDA has approved so many dangerous drugs it is rediculous. Recalling them only after many many people die. then the drug company that has made Billions has to pay a small million dollar fine or somehting still walking away with huge profits. Homeopathy sidesteps FDA regulation because of mainstream medicines view of homeopathy is just water. why would water have to be regulated...lol
@ebrobaru ever wonnder why snow flakes freeze into such unique symmetrical designs? It's the frequency of the energy stored in the water that creates them.
@guidav123 No, dear. It's because of the structural nature of H20 molecules and the way they are randomly clustered on the surface of the ice crystal. There is no "energy" in an object that is frozen.
@JejunumJake first off i'm not your dear. second if you knew anything about science you would know that everything is energy. Einsteins equation of relativity prooves this. matter and energy are the same. Everything is made up of atoms and atoms are nothing but energy. matter is just energy that has been slowed down to a frequency that can take physical form. Everything vibrates at the quntum level.
@guidav123 Man, the more they try to spit their shit, the more they show to us how stupid they are. Your answer to those morons (jejunumjake and ebrobaru) is perfect and correct!. straight to the point!. By the way I would call jejunum jake "putrid cecum" instead, hehehe. "there is no energy in an object that is frozen" hahaha what a worthless trash. Don't even sweat it with these stupid clowns. Arrogants out of NOTHING because they don't even have a fraction of common sense.
@guidav123 JejunumJake has just answered to you with facts, and not with the fantasy that you want to put into it. Where did you get this anyway? Did you make it up or some homeopathy believer told you?
@XforeverlongingX your right that does'nt mean that however it does mean that one should not trust the self-made authorities with your health but should seek out your own answers because when it comes to health we have been lied to on everything.
@fkoff99 The placebo effect works much more convincingly than homeopathy though.... I would offer a comparison between the two as being synonymous, but homeopathy isn't even THAT good!
if it works for me then it works. If it doesn't work for you that does not mean that it does not work. Part of it working is that you have to open yourself up to it. Give it a chance. If you don't want to heal then don't hold others back, because what is quite clear about science these days is that if you have money you can get someone to prove whatever you want them to prove.
It has been tested many many times and has consistently shown no effect beyond placebo.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha I am not aware that PROZAC has a disclosure that says "may cause you to murder your family and then commit suicide" or that VIOX had a disclosure that said " you may die of a heart attack suddenly" Evidence for the person who was held back from proving to Randi is hard to provide since I can't figure out how to post links on here. I tried tinyurl and YOUTUBE will not allow me to post it. Can you help?
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer I don't think you quite understand. Regardless of whether pharmaceuticals have side effects or not (and they do), or whether you think James Randi is a lying sack of shit (and you probably do) they still have no effect on whether homeopathy works (and it doesn't).
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha and how do you know that it does not work? because of some peer review studies? sorry but that is not proof anything to me. As I said don't worship peer review as some people worship God. It would be the same kind of mistake.
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer So, how do you seek to find the truth? That is what science is about. The peer review process is there to find flaws in logic, method, statistical analysis and to guide the process towards the truth. It would be interesting to hear what alternative you have for this process.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha unfortunately I don't know of an alternative. But I would suggest that being so rigid does not help us to find the truth. Saying only peer review and nothing else may get in the way of the truth.
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer But if you are dismissing peer review, you've got to have an alternative. "It works for me" is not an alternative. The scientists working on the Opera neutrino anomaly found data that doesn't fit the model. They published it and invited other scientists to examine their processes and procedures to try to determine if the data is correct. That's what science is, a collaboration. It doesn't mean all scientists agree.

peer review proved PROZAC, but look at what happened in the real world.“In 1992, Bill Forsyth, a retiree living in Hawaii, was prescribed Prozac for his anxiety and depression.

RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer You are making a lot of assertions here with little or no evidence to show for it. Do you have a better process than peer review?
Peer review is there for peers with knowledge in your discipline to try to break down your work and show errors. That's how science works. "It works for me" isn't science.
Are homeopathics gentle? Yes, as gentle as water...which is what it is.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha You don't need a homeopath to take homeopathic medicine. If you stay at the right potency it is safe to prescribe a remedy for yourself. If you have chosen the correct remedy you will notice your physical health and emotional health will improve. Unfortunately I cannot suggest something better then peer review, other then stop worshiping peer review as some people worship God. It is not perfect and likely never will be. So expecting everything to be proven is a lost cause.
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer With all due respect, please don't put words in my mouth. I don't worship peer review, it is a tool. You should probably check out the column in Scientific American by Dr. Bradley Voytek who states: "The scientific peer-review process increases the probability that the scientific literature converges–at long time scales–upon scientific truth via distributed fact-checking, replication, and validation by other scientists." I never said it was perfect.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha water is not pure. even the purest water has impurities. One type of water or another depending on its impurities might improve your health.
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer Okay, now you're arguing in my area. Yes, all water has impurities. There is certainly evidence that naturally occurring chemicals in water (don't call them impurities, that's obfuscation), may have beneficial or detrimental effects. Fluoride and Arsenic come to mind. In these cases, the chemicals are actually there, in measurable amounts and have a measurable effect.
Homeopathy is the chemical equivalent of a ghost. It's not there and it doesn't do anything.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha what is measurable to you and me is not what we are talking about. If something cannot be measured by a human does that mean it is not there? Your worship humans as if they are God. Humans are not perfect and cannot measure everything, nor will they ever.
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer Where do you come up with this stuff? You're making so many strawmen it looks like a scarecrow convention. Please indicate where I stated that humans are perfect. We're not, that's why we use the scientific method, to control for things like bias and subjectivity. That's also what peer review is for.
If something cannot be measured, that just means we can't measure it. Does it mean it's not there? Maybe. How would we be able to tell? It's like Russel's Teapot.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha when you say stuff like this "they still have no effect on whether homeopathy works (and it doesn't)." you make it sound like something is absolute. And that implies that humans are perfect. Instead you could say "I personally don't think homeopathy works because of the scientific studies that I know of, but I could be wrong because humans are not perfect, and neither is science, because science is done by imperfect humans"
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer Wow, I think this whole subjective thing is warping the discussion, you certainly have your own reality going. I never said humans were perfect. If we were, we wouldn't need peer review. I could tell you a coin was fair, but if you flipped it once, a subjective account could say "this only lands on heads". Only after successive trials could you say it was fair or not. That is what science does. And you clearly do not understand that.
murdocha 2 months ago
@RebornHammer Let me put this another way. To take the point to the extreme, if I told you there was an invisible golden Leprechaun riding a unicorn on my lawn, there would be no way for you to disprove it. Maybe there is, maybe there isn't, but it's not a testable assertion. It's not science.
murdocha 2 months ago
@murdocha The way you say that sounds like you worship science. TO ME. Like science explains everything. If it's not science then what good is it. If you saw a leprechaun why should I care for you to prove it's not real. Maybe it is. If it really bothered me to listen to you talk about your leprechaun I would stop listening and walk away. I would not argue for hours and hours about it because science says it's not real. It's your leprechaun and it's very important to you.
RebornHammer 2 months ago
@RebornHammer Wow, you are firmly rooted in the subjective aren't you? That's great for personal experience and I'm all for that. There's a time and place for it, though. While heroin might really work to relieve my pain, that doesn't make it a safe and effective medicine for everyone.
murdocha 2 months ago
Ive tried to get homeopathy practitioners to give me an explanation of how the actual science behind it works. All I get is "well, by using a tiny amount of it you get the opposite effect". Yes, they have claimed that that is science, now I would really like them to prove it to me. Its simply common sense that less of an already useless remedy does not do more than said already useless remedy.

If homeopathy is ineffective, then:
Why is the US's #1 rated hospital, MD ANDERSON, using it to CURE BRAIN CANCER?
Why does an American MEDICAL College now train MD's to use it?
Why is it FDA regulated?
Why is AZ licensing it?
Why does Cuba use it to stop epidemics?
Why do top material scientists dismiss Randi's arguments as irrelevant? (Roy, Structure of Liquid Water)
Why did WItt et al find "in vitro evidence for an effect of high homeopathic potencies" in over 47 experiments?
Google it!

MichaelF500 11 months ago
Have you ever heard of immunology? It is based on the principle of stimulating the immune system in various ways to self limit disease (which is all medicine does anyway). Treatments and modalities are not true because they are proven. What we think of a 'scientifically proven' is a temporary state of security until the next theory comes and disproves it.
MichaelF500 11 months ago
@MichaelF500 Thats not right. Most scientist say: We are standing on the collars of giants. Einstein didn't disprove Newton but improved his theories. Newtons laws are completly correct if you work with "small" masses and "small" speeds. If you build a house you can completly trust on Newtons laws. He made a fucking good theory about the world, as it were observable to his time. Even further: He developed (also Leibniz) a new kind of math which was the corner stone for people like Einstein.

Feel free show me research to the contrary.

somberlight 11 months ago
@somberlight I don't actually believe in homoeopathy, even though i did a diploma in it. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence for it, and i experienced patients apparently getting well, but the placebo effect is just so strong that you never know for sure whats going on. There is an argument that homoeopathy is hard to prove because each case needs to be individualised, especially with a chronic illness like type 2 diabetes, so you can't just give the same thing to 100 patients, as a test.
gavincostin1 11 months ago
@gavincostin1 It is you that has to show the research to support what you claim. Not the other way around

FACTS: Almost every pharmacy in Germany and France stocks homeopathic remedies. Celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Liz Hurley, Victoria Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Daryl Hannah, Salma Hayek and Ruby Wax are all fans of Bach's Rescue Remedy.

If this was the case, you´d suppose that a more modern experiment in a controlled lab would have given those results, and not have to depend on a story more than a century old.
ebrobaru 11 months ago

See how dumb that is?
ebrobaru 11 months ago
@ebrobaru Yea I understand all that but the Randi foundtion say "prove homeopothy works and get a million dollars" ,they say it's diluted to such a point as to contain no active ingrediant and has no effect. Well that vid proves it does have an effect.....they should pay out on the evidence. This has nothing to do with proving a negative. If they were saying we'll give u a million if u prove homeopothy doesnt work...then yea that would not be possible!
1THETRUTH10 11 months ago
@1THETRUTH10 You have to understand how homeopathy works, or claim to works. There are different types of dilutions. Usually, up to 6 times, the substance can be detected. Most of the "remedies" are diluted way more than that. If a substance can be detected, then it hardly qualifies as homeopathy. The challenge is not about being possible to detect a substance in a particular dilution. It is to see if that dilution does work. It´s a different thing
ebrobaru 11 months ago
@dnnply The problem with homeopathy is not that we cannot explain the mechanism by which it works, the problem is that it doesn't work. If homeopathy was able to demonstrate an effect better than a placebo in a double blind test then scientists would be saying "That's very interesting, I wonder how that works" and working diligently to find out. Since homeopathy does not appear to do anything in well constructed tests, they don't.

I salute you mister Randi.

@eadlie24 I would agree with you, if it wasn't so obvious that he is Santa.

Did you know that if you take minuscule amounts of bullshit in water you actually start speaking sense.
I have been doing this for weeks and as the above sentence testifies it actually works!

Real is scientific homeopathy. It cures even when Conventional Allopathic Medicine (CAM) fails. Evidence-based modern homeopathy is a nano-medicine bringing big results for everyone
DrNancyMalik 1 year ago
@DrNancyMalik Nano medicine? This is a new one
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@DrNancyMalik
Please provide Evidence of these "Nano-medicines" working in true Double Blind tests.
Other wise, STFU get back in the kitchen =^_^=
BlankPicketSign 1 year ago
@DrNancyMalik No it isn't. And I am sure you are aware of that as well. If you are in this industry you are a fraud! There is no proof. Homeopathy is not based in science and has never passed a single test. It is water! Water has no memory! End of! I see your tag begins "Dr" lol. You need your support taken away. You are killing people, eg malaria advice? What do you recommend taking before going to a malaria infected country? That's right - water! You are causing deaths, please stop.

Yes, homeopathy works.
The empty clathrate behaves like negative substance and is able to annihilate the corresponding substance. To know how, search 'homeoscience'

@drgsrinivas Define "neditive substance"

I thought it was difficult to be a stupid moron in both allopathy and homeopathy. Again you have proved me wrong. How can you be so stupid? That should be a new record. Asshole.

this guy is an idiot !
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 mmm, why exactly?
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@ebrobaru All things mainstream are lies. everything that the government has it's hands in such as mainstream science, mainstream media ect. are all corrupt and this guy is just a puppet to convince everyone that there is nothing outside of the status quo. Money is the bottom line of everything mainstream therfore everything is full of conspiracy.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 I see that you are a fan of conspiracy theories. But this is a new height. ALL things mainstream are lies? Ok, sure.
Just a quick thought, do you know that homeopathy is a multi-million dollar industry? Or maybe you were under the notion that is was free?
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@ebrobaru Sure in a capitalistic society everything depends of money. However the ones that make the most money is the ones that lobby congress to be on their side. Homeopathy might be amulti-million dollar industry but big pharma is an multi- billion dollar industry . big pharma pays more in law suits than homeopathy makes profit...lol.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 The difference is that medicines, do work. Of course it is a business. Medicines are the result of years and millions of dollars of investigation. Homeopathy, not so much. After all, how long does it take to study water?
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@ebrobaru "medicinesdo work" yeah they work at giving you lots and lots of side effects that cause other problems so you will have to go get even more drugs. All those side effects is your bodies way of saying "hey that stuff isn't suppose to be in here" it sees it as poison which it is. regardless if you are a supporter of homeopathy or not doesn't matter. there is ways to cure and prevent every disease on the planet without drugs or surgery. Me and my family havent been sick in three years.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 I´d like to see you treat a broken leg or an appendectomy with homeopathy
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@ebrobaru lol yeah i would like to see some big pharma drug set that broken leg as well.
guidav123 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@guidav123 you would need a real doctor to do that. And of course the drugs to make the procedure painless. Again, let´s try to do that with homeopathy
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@guidav123 Homeopathy has its limits. Allopathic medicine sometimes is necessary when a radical procedure needs to be done (and it depends on the patient!!! sometimes the patient responds well to the homeopathic treatment that conventional medicine is not required). I'm in the medical field and I only use natural medicine to keep myself healthy, but I wouldn't discard the conventional practice. Im so glad you've been healthy without toxic FDA drugs tho! me too lol.
fkoff99 1 year ago
@fkoff99 YOU are on the medical field? Homeopathy is NOT a "medicine field" moron. What part of that you don´t understand? I´m still waiting for my FDA check.
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@ebrobaru THe FDA is a government agency which like everything else the government has it's hands in is corrupt. Its like a revolving door between those that work for big pharma and those that work for the FDA. THe FDA does not protect the consumer but rather the profits of the drug companies. I wouldn't trust the FDA as far as i could spit.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 I see that you are one that loves conspiracy theories. The FDA is by no means perfect, far from it. But it´s what we have to regulate the industry. Medicines have to go through extensive tests before being allowed for public sale. Something that homeopathy conveniently sidesteps.
At least if a drug has problems "big pharma" can be held accountable. Again, not so for Homeopathy.
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@ebrobaru haha held accountable ! yeah right. the FDA has approved so many dangerous drugs it is rediculous. Recalling them only after many many people die. then the drug company that has made Billions has to pay a small million dollar fine or somehting still walking away with huge profits. Homeopathy sidesteps FDA regulation because of mainstream medicines view of homeopathy is just water. why would water have to be regulated...lol
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 Well we agree on something, homeopathic remedies are just water
ebrobaru 1 year ago 2
@ebrobaru ever wonnder why snow flakes freeze into such unique symmetrical designs? It's the frequency of the energy stored in the water that creates them.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 No, dear. It's because of the structural nature of H20 molecules and the way they are randomly clustered on the surface of the ice crystal. There is no "energy" in an object that is frozen.
JejunumJake 1 year ago
@JejunumJake first off i'm not your dear. second if you knew anything about science you would know that everything is energy. Einsteins equation of relativity prooves this. matter and energy are the same. Everything is made up of atoms and atoms are nothing but energy. matter is just energy that has been slowed down to a frequency that can take physical form. Everything vibrates at the quntum level.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 Man, the more they try to spit their shit, the more they show to us how stupid they are. Your answer to those morons (jejunumjake and ebrobaru) is perfect and correct!. straight to the point!. By the way I would call jejunum jake "putrid cecum" instead, hehehe. "there is no energy in an object that is frozen" hahaha what a worthless trash. Don't even sweat it with these stupid clowns. Arrogants out of NOTHING because they don't even have a fraction of common sense.
fkoff99 1 year ago
@guidav123 JejunumJake has just answered to you with facts, and not with the fantasy that you want to put into it. Where did you get this anyway? Did you make it up or some homeopathy believer told you?
ebrobaru 1 year ago
@guidav123 ". the FDA has approved so many dangerous drugs it is rediculous" Doesn't mean that homeopathic medicine works.
XforeverlongingX 1 year ago
@XforeverlongingX your right that does'nt mean that however it does mean that one should not trust the self-made authorities with your health but should seek out your own answers because when it comes to health we have been lied to on everything.
guidav123 1 year ago
@guidav123 You don't have the knowledge of physiology to understand them, forget about curing or even treating them on your own.
XforeverlongingX 1 year ago
@fkoff99 The placebo effect works much more convincingly than homeopathy though.... I would offer a comparison between the two as being synonymous, but homeopathy isn't even THAT good!
