Busa with a gsxr750 tail end from 01-03 is the best looking bike ever. its like that back end was intended for the busa and not the ugly one it currently has. Google it.
Perhaps he mean that "wise" motorcyclists shouldn't be starting out on 1000+ CC super sports. If you've never owned a bike before, you're going to be developing a lot of bad habits on something like a Hayabusa. To each their own...
This is one reason I hate the reviews in most car and motorcycle rags. The writers and hosts try too hard to sound "cool" and "in-the-know" by using a bunch of superfluous language. They just need to cut the fucking rhetoric, and get to the point. We're not hear to listen to poetry.
i love the busa look and everything else about it, if there was one thing i could change though it would be to only have one exhaust, the second makes it look a little different, thats not bad i just want one exhaust
zx14 and hayabusa sucks when in 1997 cbr1100xx wass the fastest bike in the world only 134 hp and top speed 202mph only 11337 and does 202mph big deal hayabusa and zx14 i ride xx and hayabusa eat my dust and zx14
Look a Busa is not the bike for a weekend rider. It is made for speed a the speed it has they are not to many places to put it to the test. So on that not I love the buds an always will cause when it comes down to it the bike is not made for non pro riders. The zx-14 is made for the everyday rider with more that a bit of experience. Yes to is great because everyone can take it for a spin but that just makes it people friendly not pro friendly. Sorry Busa hands down #1.
I love all sportbikes, sportbikes rule, how many stock piece of shit sportscars can do what these bikes do for the same price? If you want that kind of performance from a car you're gonna have to sell your house lol.
"not sold to beginners anyway" really now? i dont want one, but when i went through the motorcycle class, a guy there (probably about 19 years old) had his permit and was riding his brand new hayabusa to the class each day... ive never liked them, after he let me ride his, i stand behind my point of not liking them, i love my honda 919...
im guessing he got his by mommy and daddy, but they are not for beginners in the least bit, my 919 is tough for inexperianced riders as is
Huh, didn`t know so many people don`t like the design of those two bikes. Personally, Busa is one of the beautiest machines ever made because it is different. For instance R1 is a very common sportbike, very nice to ride but design is like "deja vu", while Busa you can notice from a mile. Same for the ZX-14.
Please at least give a fair impartial review of both bikes. It's obvious which side you're on, which is fine, but if you're going to compare the bikes, compare the bikes! As stated before, what kinds of things did the Suzuki miss? Be specific, and impartial.
The zx looks like a jumping spider with unnecessary wallposter testarossa fins. Also, the non-metal materials on the zx are not as refined, they're fragile compared to the busa - compare yourself. The 1st gen - people either loved them or hated them. I liked'em enough to put 30,000 miles on 2. The new gen has crisper lines except in the rear, a little 50's ish back there but acceptable. This test rider is brand biased and needs smacked.
@TomozukiII why do you need more than a 600cc class bike on the street? Less your doing drag racing for money....no reason. 600s get to 65 pretty much just as quick...Plus cost less, lighter, more fun in the corners....ect
I know what you mean, but once you try it, you`ll know what I mean. I had bikes of 600cc and 750cc but didn`t enjoy them as much as Blackbird, even if it`s heavier and doesn`t go as easy into the corners as lighter bikes do. But the difference is so small you even don`t notice that on normal roads but rather on race circuits. So for normal everyday use, I would stay away from SS bikes which are uncomfortable to ride, have less torque, too much gear switching... (1/2)
I had a 2003 CBR 1100 XX, I sold it because it was too heavy, suspension was too soft (not adjustable at the front). Turning was sooo slow... On the twisties I sweat my balls off following my buddies on sport bikes. I bought a 2007 CBR 1000 RR. It is 50 kgs lighter, +20 HP, accelerates much better even in 6th gear (no more shifting, were I used 5th on the bird, 6th on the RR) , turning is miles better, braking also, not so comfortable, but my gf doesn't complain about it :)
Nice ;) But I am not much into sport bikes. I had one but am not keen to have another. Too much pain everywhere on my body, suspension is also a bit too stiff for bumpy country roads. Especially my butt and my wrists ache. I love comfort for travelling and lots of torque. Since I weight about 100kg, it is not too heavy for me, but generally I agree with you.
@falapedro Not only sportbikes but anykind type of bikes are not for everyone. Depends of your needs. Some like choppers, some like sportbikes, some like enduros, some like allrounders etc.
(2/2)... have less comfortable seats, because of higher RPM engine suffers more, less amount of reserve power etc. High speed and drags don`t mean much too me since I mostly ride with a passanger on normal roads between 120-200km/h. You can ride for a whole day and don`t get a butt-ache, fuel consumption is the same as on 600cc SS bikes, service intervals costs the same or less (because engine suffers less - better ratio engine volume/power) etc. You just got to try it.
@TomozukiII i know where you are coming from. Being a larger bike, makes it a little easier for manufacturers to set footpegs, clips ons or handlesbars at a more comfy location. Seats more comfy, not be TOO anal on weight reduction, so forth so on.
0:25... that Ninja biker breaking the stick... at first it looked like a challenge, a throw down, and insult to my mother!!! but then he said "Cola" and I relized, he was buzzed on a sugar and caffeine high, and need more cola to bathe his brain like Beavis strung out on crack cocaine!!!!
Lame... How about compare braking, handling, midrange, responsiveness, suspension, etc.. ya know, the things we care about??? Not just "suzuki missed a few things.." 3 times and give no details as to what they are.
@SMOKEin75 Don't be silly, these bikes have no handling, responsiveness, etc. If you want that you need to get a real sport bike. These are just muscle bikes. Just cheap power for straight lines and impressing girls.
@thekkl i suggest u take a look at some of the videos on youtube and look at what a true rider can do on these 'muscle' bikes...they can be made track friendly with the right rider doing the right things...i agree with u that they are not true sport bikes but still they do handle and have responsiveness or their wouldn't be about a thousand vids of hayabusas on the track knee dragging...
@MrDylandobson You can scrape knees on a Harley, that doesn't mean shit. And of course it's possible to take them around corners, it's possible to take muscle cars around corners too, they just aren't exceptionally great at it, and to be a sport bike or a sports anything it has to be exceptionally great at cornering.
@thekkl id love to see u scrape knees on a harley bro if u can do that u are a badass. And thier were musclecars made specifically to do nothing but handle well...trans ams and z28s were both great handling cars just like hyperbikes are good handling bikes...its all the rider...yes its easier to go around a track faster on a ducati 999 but a good rider can put down decent times on a busa or 14...ive watched ktm supermotos stomp zx10s cause he was a sick rider...point is the rider makes the bike
@MrDylandobson watch?v=d_XKERfAaHU and that's one of the least sporty motorcycles in the world. If Trans Ams and Z28s are great handling cars, then what makes them muscle cars? And yeah no shit being a better rider means you can go faster but a better bike means you can go faster too. My point was that no one that's buying this bike really cares about the handling. Tell me, have you ever once seen a hyperbike at the tracks? I've seen superbikes and supersports bikes but never a hyperbike.
@thekkl muscle car--any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving." i believe trans ams and camaros both fall into that category thanks...and to be honest no ive never seen a hyperbike on a track but i have seen them at rattlesnake canyon and the dragons tail and ive got to tell u they can hold thier own quite well if one knows how to handle them....and a zx10 not sporty are u fuckin serious..the 2011 rips most bikes heads off.
@MrDylandobson the only thing u can scrape on a harley are the foot pegs..... the position is such that u cant get that low..... but i get wat u mean and agree!
@caaarrrnuttt haha...now that you mention it your right ...yea i usually dont comment on things but when someone makes a comment like that...i think i have to do the world a favor and call it out...
@ChainsawCarvingUK Ride what you're comfortable with. I'm a bigger bloke and I found the Hayabusa, ZX-14, Blackbird style bikes to be much more comfortable than the little pocket rocket style of the Gixxer thou, Fireblade thou, R1, ZX-10. Ironically, I took the sportiest of the big boys by getting a Gen II Hayabusa. But it was nowhere near as cramped as the litre class sport bikes.
@TheCanky Yeah! Only looks are important when riding a motorbike! Screw performance, comfort, handling, and other features. Once you sit down and start the engine, the only thing that matters is the aesthetics!
@MrBUSABASS I believe ya. there's a guy here in Washington that i know that has destroyed his chicken strips on his tires. has leaned one of those bikes harder than I ever could. My 14 is huge, coming from 4 different ninjas, and I just can't get it to turn in as fast as my 600's could. Never thought about raising it to get it to turn in.
@j0eyktm No, don't need big balls to ride the Busa. She's tame unless you twist the wrist. She is heavy... don't get me wrong there. But she only goes as fast/as quickly as you tell her to. I've been riding just over a year now, and moved from a Ninja 250 to a Busa. Haven't gotten killed just yet. Just trying to respect the power and taking it easy. MSF test maneuvers in the parking lot on weekends, with the 250 and the Busa, as refresher.
Eh I see this on youtube all the time.Even the fastest bike is only as good as its rider. The difference between the two bikes performance-wise is so small a street rider wouldn't be able to tell. Its up to what you like. If you live in a major city you can't even find a road to rip these open because of traffic. On a drag strip is another story.
Just bought a Busa today... considered the ZX-14 lightly, but wanted a change from Kawasaki. Discussed the possibility of a liter bike with a few folks, but for day trips and thrills everyone recommended the Busa as my best choice. One friend said that Busa's longer length makes it less prone to wheelies under full throttle, and that the bike is more manageable than the liter bikes would be. After riding today, I feel I made a good decision.
@mml1973ful I too almost bought a ZX14 and considered litre bikes before I went and bought my 2001 Busa, after the test ride I was completely addicted, a few suble mods *evil laugh* and off I go to take on R1's and Gixxers etc in the twisty hills (Australia). So far I've personally managed to prove people wrong about the Busa being a straight line bike, if you jack up the suspension by 1/2 to 1 inch it will turn in just like a sports bike, that is my next mod, congrats on ya busa!
Thanks... I'm finding staying upright ain't always easy--haven't gotten all the slick off the new tires. This bike is a HOOT! Easily polished off a Mercury Marauder this evening, without breathing hard and without breaking legal speed limit. Barely on the throttle and short shifted from 1-2. Bike is heavy... big issue for me as I'm only 130 pounds, plus or minus. Taking her easy, mostly. :-)
@MrBUSABAZZ Lol. Cant beat physics mate. Your Busa is like a Harley and has the wheel base of a truck. You cant be serious about keeping up with an R1 anywhere else than on a flat straight, given half way even talented drivers.
@MrPainfulTruth Like your name..... Time to face some! LOL The only way I can really prove it is for you to come to Adelaide, Australia and race me! I do have video proof but don't have the correct editing software on this borrowed PC as my PC had a serious crash. So what do you ride and for how long have you ridden? I've been riding on the road for 25 years, I started riding bikes since I was 5, I am now 41! In the end it's who's craziest, I push my Busa more than most people would ever dare!
Went to my local Kawasaki dealer back in 2007 to look at maybe a Ninja 250 just to play around with. I allready had a 1200 Suzuki Bandit ,saw a left over 2006 ZX-14 on sale for $9,500. Couldn't pass up that deal. It's power is restricted electronically and that has most likely saved my bacon on a few ocassions. Mines all stock engine wise but I am considering getting a timing retard eliminator gizmo from Ivan's performance to get a little additionl boost in the lower gears. Enjoyed the comparo.
i have a busa 2008 white and my friend has a zx 14 a drove botha and here how it is....zx14 has more torgue on 2000 to 4800 rpm it has muthch beter brakes and they are verh durable in in racing conditions and the riding position is beter for turing..thats the zx 14 the busa is more agresive beter cornering incredibly stable on 20 200 kilometers and over the brakes are good but they tired over time in racing conditions and the riding position on trafik or turing conditions is a litle unconforta
i luv the hayabusa , not a big fan of the zx14 but they r both monsters and no car will keep up with ya , av gt a supercharged busa and the power through every gear is insane, i started with a dt 125 then fzr 600 then straight onto the busa
A guy I work with has a 08 ZX14 with a commander power chip and some tuning to accommodate the chip. He let me take a spin and all I can say is if they were around when I was younger I would have had one and might not be here to type this. I stood on it in 2nd gear around 50 mph and when the front wheel left the road I let off and was doing a 100 mph, I used to love power and speed and its got plenty, and I don't mean maybe, il stick with my 1100 shadow.
for those of you looking at these bikes,,,if you are new to riding DO NOT GET,,,not unless you are looking for a quick ticket out of this world...start small and work ur way up...plus a small bike if u drop wtf how cares u only spent 5gs on it,,,thing is cut ur baby teeth then join the bigger bikes for the real rush like no other
@kanankeban Have you ever ridden Kawasaki ZX14? Try it out before you start making comments. You will be surprised what big and better impressions you will have riding Kawasaki. It is more comfortable, none vibrations at all on top speed, excellent brakes and the list go on..........
@owengoslin101 LOL Beginner bike. Hell no man beginner bike more in a 600 or lower. When I first started riding was a buell Blast 490cc and went fom that to a CBR 1000F Hurrican.
@MrBigj6996 I am gettting ready to buy either a busa or the zx-14 seems like on the busa you are leaning alot more foward like yuou are going down towards the ground. and starts to shake when u get going fast. I drove a ZX-14 and I was doing 180 withen 15 to 30 seconds. and it was a smooth shifting and a smooth ride. I have also heard the busa corners better

@SMOKEin75 because they are identically the same bike dumbass look at the sastictics
stevenetercha 1 year ago
@SMOKEin75 Don't be silly, these bikes have no handling, responsiveness, etc. If you want that you need to get a real sport bike. These are just muscle bikes. Just cheap power for straight lines and impressing girls.
thekkl 11 months ago
@thekkl i suggest u take a look at some of the videos on youtube and look at what a true rider can do on these 'muscle' bikes...they can be made track friendly with the right rider doing the right things...i agree with u that they are not true sport bikes but still they do handle and have responsiveness or their wouldn't be about a thousand vids of hayabusas on the track knee dragging...
MrDylandobson 8 months ago
@MrDylandobson You can scrape knees on a Harley, that doesn't mean shit. And of course it's possible to take them around corners, it's possible to take muscle cars around corners too, they just aren't exceptionally great at it, and to be a sport bike or a sports anything it has to be exceptionally great at cornering.
thekkl 8 months ago
@thekkl id love to see u scrape knees on a harley bro if u can do that u are a badass. And thier were musclecars made specifically to do nothing but handle well...trans ams and z28s were both great handling cars just like hyperbikes are good handling bikes...its all the rider...yes its easier to go around a track faster on a ducati 999 but a good rider can put down decent times on a busa or 14...ive watched ktm supermotos stomp zx10s cause he was a sick rider...point is the rider makes the bike
MrDylandobson 8 months ago 9
@MrDylandobson watch?v=d_XKERfAaHU and that's one of the least sporty motorcycles in the world. If Trans Ams and Z28s are great handling cars, then what makes them muscle cars? And yeah no shit being a better rider means you can go faster but a better bike means you can go faster too. My point was that no one that's buying this bike really cares about the handling. Tell me, have you ever once seen a hyperbike at the tracks? I've seen superbikes and supersports bikes but never a hyperbike.
thekkl 8 months ago
@thekkl muscle car--any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving." i believe trans ams and camaros both fall into that category thanks...and to be honest no ive never seen a hyperbike on a track but i have seen them at rattlesnake canyon and the dragons tail and ive got to tell u they can hold thier own quite well if one knows how to handle them....and a zx10 not sporty are u fuckin serious..the 2011 rips most bikes heads off.
MrDylandobson 8 months ago 2
@MrDylandobson the only thing u can scrape on a harley are the foot pegs..... the position is such that u cant get that low..... but i get wat u mean and agree!

IBetterFindYoHeart 1 year ago
@ChainsawCarvingUK Ride what you're comfortable with. I'm a bigger bloke and I found the Hayabusa, ZX-14, Blackbird style bikes to be much more comfortable than the little pocket rocket style of the Gixxer thou, Fireblade thou, R1, ZX-10. Ironically, I took the sportiest of the big boys by getting a Gen II Hayabusa. But it was nowhere near as cramped as the litre class sport bikes.

Never thought about raising it to get it to turn in.
roadrashninja 1 year ago

After riding today, I feel I made a good decision.
mml1973ful 1 year ago
@mml1973ful I too almost bought a ZX14 and considered litre bikes before I went and bought my 2001 Busa, after the test ride I was completely addicted, a few suble mods *evil laugh* and off I go to take on R1's and Gixxers etc in the twisty hills (Australia). So far I've personally managed to prove people wrong about the Busa being a straight line bike, if you jack up the suspension by 1/2 to 1 inch it will turn in just like a sports bike, that is my next mod, congrats on ya busa!
Stay Upright
MrBUSABAZZ 1 year ago

@mml1973ful you sound like your in the same boat as me, im only riding an R6 but i don't weigh shit either haha

@MrBUSABAZZ Lol. Cant beat physics mate. Your Busa is like a Harley and has the wheel base of a truck. You cant be serious about keeping up with an R1 anywhere else than on a flat straight, given half way even talented drivers.
MrPainfulTruth 1 year ago

Enjoyed the comparo.

i have a busa 2008 white and my friend has a zx 14 a drove botha and here how it is....zx14 has more torgue on 2000 to 4800 rpm it has muthch beter brakes and they are verh durable in in racing conditions and the riding position is beter for turing..thats the zx 14 the busa is more agresive beter cornering incredibly stable on 20 200 kilometers and over the brakes are good but they tired over time in racing conditions and the riding position on trafik or turing conditions is a litle unconforta

andrewgallie1 1 year ago
A guy I work with has a 08 ZX14 with a commander power chip and some tuning to accommodate the chip. He let me take a spin and all I can say is if they were around when I was younger I would have had one and might not be here to type this. I stood on it in 2nd gear around 50 mph and when the front wheel left the road I let off and was doing a 100 mph, I used to love power and speed and its got plenty, and I don't mean maybe, il stick with my 1100 shadow.
