  • Pilates is an aerobic take on yoga. It utilizes most of the poses, but adds resistance and tends to build on more muscle. Yoga deals more with breathing, lengthening the muscles and allowing you to have better control over your pulmonary system overall. Both are wonderful and can be used together.

  • There is not such thing as sculpting and toning, this lady is lying please do not listen to her. You will not lose fat by lifting less than 5 lbs. , your muscles won't get huge from lifting 20 lbs like this. If that was true than I would be MASSIVE, because I am a boy and I lift weights literally 50 times more than this 4 times a week.

    Again do not fall prey to this sort of BS and realize that muscles are good and smaller than fat.

  • @HaloGrndr I don't think that's what this is mean't for, If anything its muscular endurance, which DOES burn fat, especially if your a women, as they burn fat more preferentially than men.

  • voice workout? dont be a dummy. It is vital to get full instruction all the way to remember posture, breathing, keeping shoulders away from ears - all those very important Pilates disciplines that make it such a great discipline. This woman is teriffic! Making comments about her "boobies" is childish and distasteful. "Will it make my arms smaller?" - well, weren't you listening. This is for TONING. If you don't understand toning, back to beginner class for you!

  • I've only done this workout twice, but I really really like it. It's not extremely difficult, but it's something I have to work up to before I'm entirely comfortable during every exercise. Great workout!

  • @vikki12307 It was marketed as an Arm and Shoulder work out. If you want to tone anything else look at her other routines for Abs and Hips, Buns and Thighs. She also does routines for Flexibility and Calorie burning.

  • @chelseakickass1 Then that's your own fault. You either have delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) which will go away if you keep excercising or you really did fuck something up which, again, is your own fault. If you feel any sharp pain during exercise, STOP. A burn is good, a sharp pain is bad. How did you manage to fuck your shoulder up anyway?

  • @ilove63000 Toning is a dumb term that carries a lot of implications that only serve to confuse people. If you want to make your muscles more 'toned', you need to build muscle and lose fat. This does neither of these things well at all.

  • @impyshmimpy Haha wow, you typed exactly what I was thinking. It's so annoying when people say they want to get 'toned' and don't have any muscle to begin with. Toning is the process of building (a little) muscle and lowering your bodyfat percentage, people!

    Great job! Please keep up with excellent work! Plus, now that I've gotten into pilates I can feel for myself how hard it can be. When people do it, it looks a lot like something old people would do, but I find it REALLy works well when you're trying to tone your muscles! Thanks so Much! :D

  • LORD I forgot how intense this workout was. I stopped doing it to change up my workout routine, and then just came back to it today. WOW did it kill me! Awesome and effective workout in a short amount of time :)

  • Can someone take the time to explain to me what pilate is? Like plyometrics is for explosion, isometrics is low movement high strength. What is pilate?
